The proxy must be a hell of a sight, since Billy meets him halfway. His big lanky arms wrap around Wise with no protest — damn, it must really be bad if he's let three people hug him in the span of one hour — holding him as close as he'll allow with his cheek pressed against the intelligent construct's hard shoulder. Wise just heaves a deep sigh, then sniffles softly after.
"How was the drive?" the taller man asks, rubbing his back.
"Bad."
Billy hugs him tighter. Wise fights back a new wave of tears and hugs him back.Series

"..Are you sure you're okay?" he finally asks.
Lighter blinks at him once, owl-ish. However, slowly, his brows begin to furrow. Not in an irritated way, but in a manner that betrays his confusion. His hesitance. It's another minute of them having a stare-down before Lighter speaks.
"Ask me later, alrigh'?" he lays a hand overtop Wise's, warm and.. gentle. "We can talk when we go't bed."
Wise can't help but purse his lips in uncertainty.
