They’d refer to Sukuna as worthless and dangerous, unstable and a blot on the once-clean reputation of the clan. A waste of talent—a waste of the Shrine. Unworthy of being an Itadori. Unworthy of being alive. He was a curse. A calamity. One that needed to be put down.
For the longest time, Yuuji didn’t believe any of that.
It was hard to believe such dramatic stories when all the other kids in the clan were easily frightened by old legends and cursed spirits. That stuff never scared Yuuji.

The explanations were easy then. Wild animals. Accidents. Anything that didn’t require thinking further. But the disappearances didn’t stop there. When people began to vanish, the village head said it was a man. A sickness of the mind. Something that could be reasoned with, hunted, forgiven. The town clung to that idea until a stranger arrived, carrying tools that had no place in ordinary hands.
It wasn't a killer, he called it The Shikabane—a thing that loved flesh, but had no understanding of how it was meant to be consumed.
