"Friends with benefits?" Isabela asks.
"Isn't that for friends?" Fenris answers on his behalf, and Anders pretends not to mind.
"Sex buddies?" Anders offers nonchalantly.
"We are not buddies." Fenris' deadpan voice leaves no room for a challenge, and Anders reminds himself that suits him just fine.
“Bad habit,” he mutters under his breath, and Fenris looks at him with knowing eyes, but doesn't disagree.

He let an eye open lazily, and lolled his head to the side as though only just waking up.
Empty. It was only him.
Though the sight that greeted him was enough to make his stomach drop, as he noted exactly where he was. The sound of Danzou hadn't been out of place.
He was at the Foundation.
For some ungodly reason he couldn't think of.
Kakashi threw the blanket back, swinging his legs over the bed to plant himself firmly against the floor, before noticing his hands were different, too.
Younger. Not as scarred.
He flexed his fingers, feeling the nimble lightness of them. The feather-light sensitivity he'd once had in them, gone but back again, to before he'd deadened some of the nerves in his hands from using Chidori over time.
“Hound.”
The name sent an almost-electric strike of attention through him. An expression of order he hadn't answered to in years.
