He was coming over after a race he'd probably rather have forgotten immediately afterwards, bringing plasters for a winner kid who'd torn his hands up for no reason. It made Kimi sick to think of all he asked from Ollie and sicker to think of all he'd given without Kimi needing to ask. He had leant on Ollie for years--part of it was reasonable, age taking precedence--but then he had a Mercedes seat, and then he should have stopped.
Asking for emotional support from someone having an exponentially worse time than you is just cruel. Unfortunately, not even getting a top team seat was enough to make Kimi grow up.
Kimi tears up his cuticles after Monaco, needs plasters, and texts Ollie to bring them. All Ollie wants is to never have to do that again.
