    Yet no matter how great, his love could never quite bridge the meager space between them—the invisible line that always reminded Dunk he was a knight and Aerion a prince. His love could live in his chest, in his thoughts, in every breath… but never beyond those three steps.

    Dunk could only watch as Valarr easily crossed those three steps of space Dunk never could, doing so with a smile on his face.

    Did he just offer to fight for some random hedge knight he never even met?

    Or,

    Valarr Targaryen fights in his father's stead. Thankfully, his helmet is his own and is well suited for his head.
