The blood on Damian's cheeks and mouth faded into the background as Jon's wide eyes lingered on the long fangs that sprouted from his upper lip; Damian's eyes were red, a complete far cry from the beautiful green he had come to know, and the way his nose quivered, almost as if he were still in total frenzy from the smell of blood that now permeated that alley, made him resemble a large animal sniffing its prey. His chest was rising and falling at an irregular pace, and Damian hadn't lost sight of Jon even for a moment, no mattered how much Jon had swallowed and widened his eyelids in disbelief. He wasn't sure what he was looking at or if his mind was playing strange tricks on him, but Damian's behaviors, his disappearances, the way he often tried to avoid him, and Bruce's evasive responses... it all made sense now.
