Chapter Text
For as long as Inko could remember, her little Izuku had always been a bit…hyper and bold. He had a tendency to be loud and a bit handsy when annoyed. She was fairly sure he didn’t mean to be so rash and headstrong, because he was such a sweetheart to her; but he seemed to always come off as a tad bit harsh. Never the less, she adored her son and you can believe she was overjoyed when he came busting through their front door one sunny Monday afternoon proclaiming to have made a new friend. She did jump a mile in the air and nearly had a heart attack at the initial loud slam of the door being kicked open; but her big eyes went straight to her son barreling around the corner.
“MOM!!”
“Hello Izuku, how was your day? Use your inside voice please. You nearly gave me a heart attack.” She admonished gently, placing a hand on his head to calm him down. The green haired boy took a few seconds before he nodded and stood still. “My day went good! I had to write a stupid paper about some dumb fairy tale that I didn’t care about,” he huffed at the mere mention of the paper he had written. Inko giggled at her son’s clear annoyance of the task he was given to do. “But anyway, I made a friend today!” he practically shouted the news to his now stunned mother. Inko couldn’t stop her eyes from bulging so large at the words that left her son’s mouth. Izuku was a bit hard to approach and others tended to shy away from his brash attitude. So to hear that someone was willing and able to befriend her little hot head made her absolutely delighted.
“Oh you did? That’s wonderful!” she cheered, a bright beaming smile coming to her face. She had to fight back the tears that tried to escape her eyes. She wasn’t sure where Izuku got his bravado from; it wasn’t her, that’s for sure. “Well what’s their name, honey?” she questioned as she pulled out a plate to put the child’s snacks on. “His name is Bakugou Katsuki! But I call him Kacchan!” the green haired youth explained, perking up when his mother placed a plate of chips and sandwiches in front of him. “Oh? And when can I meet this so called Kacchan?” she asked as she too took a bite out of her sandwich. “Well, can you come pick me up from school tomorrow?’ he asked her, tilting his head to the side the exact same time his mother did. It was a little habit they both had when they thought of something. “I believe I can.” She giggled. They spent the rest of the day watching videos and playing a few games.
As promised she showed up the next day at the school gate waiting for her son and his friend. She looked over to her left to see another pair of parents also waiting. The woman had wild, spiky blonde hair, red eyes, and looked fairly young for her age. Next to her stood a taller man with brown hair, glasses, and a mustache. “MOM!” she looked up to see Izuku running over to her with another little boy being dragged along with him. “Mom! Mom!” his voice was rather loud and even caught the attention of the parents next to her. She really needed to talk to him and his volume.
The two boys stopped in front of her and this gave her a better chance to look at the little boy her son had dragged with him. He had big red eyes, wild, spiky blonde hair and he wore a black skull shirt and green pants. Wait…blonde spiky hair? Her green eyes flittered over to the woman that stood on the other side of the school gate and back to the blonde boy.
“Mom! This is Kacchan!” the green haired boy shouted, wrapping his arm around the other boy’s neck. “I told you not to call me that, please…” the blonde mumbled. “Hah? What was that Kacchan? I couldn’t hear ya!” he joked, pulling Katsuki closer to him and poking his cheek. He only got a miserable groan from him. “Well, well, looks like our brat’s got a new friend.” The woman chuckled, looking up at her smiling husband. “You must be the Izuku our little Katsuki was talking about. I’m Bakugou Mitsuki and this is my husband Bakugou Masaru.” She introduced. She looked over at Inko and grinned at her. “I take it you’re this little rascal’s mom?”
“O-Oh! Y-yes! I’m Midoriya Inko! P-pleasure to meet you!” she introduced, bowing to the taller woman. Mitsuki laughed and waved her hand. “No need to be so formal! From the way it seems, we’re gonna be seeing each other a lot. Since it seems your brat’s basically pulling ours around.” She stated. “Oi brat, introduce yourself.” She called.
“M-my name is Bakugou Katsuki. N-nice to meet you…” Bakugou introduced, bowing as well. The way it looked, Izuku seemed like he acted a lot like Mitsuki; loud and brash. While Katsuki was rather timid and soft spoken like an odd combination of Masaru and Inko. The two families smiled at each other and started to walk home. Midoriya let out a loud shout when he realized that he and Bakugou lived not even a few blocks apart. “What the hell?! You didn’t tell me you lived this close!” he balked. Mitsuki gave a roaring laugh at this, while Masaru and Inko panicked at Izuku’s choice of words. Bakugou and Izuku were so close during primary school. When they reached junior high, things changed a bit.
-Junior High-
“You’re an asshole! God damn Deku!” one boy shouted at Midoriya. He had been angry at failing a test and was taking it out on poor Bakugou. Because the loser never seemed to take up for himself, thus making him a fairly easy target. At least, until Midoriya caught wind of what happened. He had kicked over the boy’s desk and sent it crashing into the wall.
You see, in primary school he had shown his quirk before everyone else. How exactly? He had gotten mad when one of the kids called him Deku and claimed that he’d make a better villain than a hero. He had gotten so pissed that he stood up and turned to the kid who had claimed such a thing. His fist clenched and his desk had been sent crashing into the wall. His eyes had bugged out of his head and he couldn’t stop the smile that had spread across his face. Green eyes met amazed red and that just seemed to make his heart soar.
Kacchan, his dumb, soft spoken, kind hearted Kacchan had been so happy for him. He had rushed up to him and told him how cool he was for such a powerful quirk; as had the rest of the class, no, the whole school. His quirk was similar to his mother’s, yet it seemed stronger. She could pull small objects to herself, but this desk was bigger than him. Holy shit, his quirk was way stronger than his mom’s.
Now Deku stood over the boy that had dared lay a finger on his friend. “I’m the asshole?” he questioned with a scoffed. “You’re the fuckmunch that’s picking on Kacchan!” he sneered. Green eyes glinted darkly as his eyes narrowed into slits. Before the other male could say anything, he had been sent back into the wall. “Don’t any of you assholes think you can get away with this shit! You’re lucky he’s too god damn nice to blast your fucking faces off!” he snarled at them. He turned and grabbed Bakugou by his arm and dragged him outside.
Like Deku, Katsuki too had shown his quirk. Like Deku it had been a complete accident that it had happened and he was a little embarrassed by it. He was only trying to pick up a book when it had literally exploded in his hands. He and his classmates had stared wide eyed at the ruined book in his hands. They were broken out of their stupor by Izuku screaming in surprise and shaking Bakugou.
“HOLY SHIT! YOU BLEW UP THE BOOK KACCHAN! YOU BLEW UP THE BOOK!” the green haired youth exclaimed in amazement.
Bakugou blinked a few times before his eyes widened and a very loud and scared “I’m sorry sensei” had echoed throughout the school. He hadn’t meant to blow up his textbook in the middle of class and it took their teacher a few minutes to assure the panicked blonde that everything was alright and it was an accident so he wouldn’t get in trouble.
Bakugou however wasn’t big on showing off his quirk like Deku was. In fact, the flashy explosive quirk was the complete opposite of his rather quiet personality. Then again, his father too was a quiet man and he too had the exact same quirk. Thus why he never used it on the many people who tried to walk all over him for being a pushover.
“What the fuck, Kacchan?! Why won’t you ever stand up for yourself?!” Deku all but screeched in frustration. He had tried for years to figure out why he didn’t just blast those assholes away for treating him so rudely. “I…I told you…I don’t want to hurt anyone with my quirk. All Might wouldn’t use his quirk on bullies…” he stated, looking down at his twiddling thumbs. Deku let out another annoyed sigh at his answer. That was always his answer whenever he asked. They both looked up to and idolized the legendary All Might like a bunch of other people. However, Deku had made sure everyone knew that he was aiming to be the number one hero and he would surpass All Might no matter what. “All Might wouldn’t let a bunch of fuckers walk all over him either, you shithead!” he grunted. “Ah…I’m sorry Izu….” The blonde apologized softly. The green haired pre-teen sighed before he grabbed the back of his friend’s head and yanked him forward, pressing their foreheads together. “Just tell me if someone is bothering you next time you shit. How the hell else are we gonna get into U.A. together?” he questioned. “Don’t worry Izu, I-I won’t l-let you leave me in the dust.” He promised with a little smile.
“Heh, I’m holding you up to that you shitty nerd.” Deku laughed.
