Chapter 1: Loneliness

Summary:

Jeon Jeongkook and Yoongi's bad mood.

Chapter Text

As soon as he woke up, he felt it. The numbness. He wasn't happy, he wasn't sad. He was numb. He was empty. He stared blankly at his white ceiling, until he slowly got up. He walked to the kitchen, smelling the sweet scent. Jin was making pancakes while the rest of them sat around the table and talked about things Yoongi didn't care about. He greeted everyone, then went towards the bathroom.

“Yoongi, you better hurry or these monsters will eat everything,” Jin laughed.

“It's fine, I'm not hungry anyway,” he said with a small smile then closed the bathroom door. The six guys exchanged a few worried glances then looked back at the closed door.

Yoongi went straight to the sink and turned the faucet on. He stared at the running water for a few seconds before washing his face. He lifted his gaze and looked at his reflection. He sighed. He looked awful. His eyes were empty and had big bags under them.

“Get a grip, Min Yoongi,” he whispered to himself.

He hated the sight. He hated not being able to feel a damn thing, but he also knew it was for the best. It was better than feeling so many bad things all at once. So he accepted his current situation with another sigh.

By the time he came out, the kitchen was empty. He headed to his and Jin's room and found he eldest in front of his closet.

“We're going out a bit since we won't be able to have fun tloich when we start shooting for our comeback, ” he said. “Put some nice clothes on and come.”

“I'm not going,” Yoongi answered. “I'm tired and I'll just go back to sleep. Have fun.”

He laid on his bed and covered himself with the blanked. Jin watched him with concern. He went back to the living room where the others already waited for him.

“Yoongi isn't coming,” he sighed. “I don't think we should leave him alone now.”

“I'll stay with him,” Kookie said. “You guys go and have fun, I'll watch over him.”

“You sure?” Namjoon asked. “His bad moods are pretty hard to handle. Trust me.”

“I'm sure, I think I know what he needs,” he said with a smirk on his face.

“If you say so...” Namjoon said with a raised eyebrow.

After everyone left, Kookie went to his room, put on his pajamas and grabbed his phone and his earphones. He made hot chocolate for him an Yoongi and headed to Yoongi's room. He found him curled into a ball under the blanket.

When he heard the door open, Yoongi turned around and saw Kookie standing there with two mugs in his hands. He blinked in confusion.

“What are you doing home?”

“I didn't want to go. Can I stay here? Oh, I made hot chocolate,” he said placing one of the mugs on the nightstand near Yoongi's bed.

“Why do you want to stay here?” he asked as he got up and turned with his back at the wall, leaning against it and pulling his legs up to his chest. He reached for the mug and curled his fingers around it, letting the warmness spread in his body. “Thanks for this, by the way.”

“No problem,” he said with a bunny like smile. “And I want to stay here because it's boring to be by myself whether I stay in my room or in the living room. But I won't disturb you, I promise. I'll just finish my game. I also brought my earphones so I won't bother you with its sounds. You can go to sleep, I'll just stay here with you in silence.”

Yoongi nodded as he took a sip from his drink, his body feeling even warmer. He watched Kookie settle on Jin's bed and putting on his earphones, his full attention being now on his game while he took small sips from his chocolate every once in a while.

Kookie glanced over at Yoongi a few times and he felt better seeing the expression on his face. He looked relaxed and sleepy.

After a few more minutes, Yoongi laid back on his bed, his drink already finished, and he was fast asleep. The youngest watched his hyung's sleeping face with a content smile. He got up, took the empty mugs and headed to the door. When he opened it, Yoongi's sleepy voice stopped him.

“Thanks, kid. I mean it.”

Kookie's smile grew bigger.

“No problem. Rest well, hyung.”

Yoongi smiled, even though the other couldn't see it. He was really grateful. He knew the youngest understood his mood and his needs and didn't push him to talk. He appreciated the maknae more than anyone could even imagine.
