Summary
In another lifetime, it is the Shire that is attacked and stolen by a dragon for reasons unknown. Years later, Bilbo Baggins embarks on a journey to Erebor in a desperate attempt to find aid in reclaiming his homeland. But once there, he finds that taking on a dragon will be the least of his concerns as he struggles through trials, his own identity, and the King Under the Mountain.

I hope one day the author will return to finish this work. The characterization, plot, and relationships are so intriguing and engaging and genuinely wish that this was finished. It probably will never be finished but one can only hope!
This one had Bilbo be essentially adopted into the Ri family and i can’t find any other fic that gets that relationship just right. -
