Chapter Text
A boy pushes against the hospital's door, and it opens with a gentle rustle. He quickly sets foot into the patient's room, cheeks blushing and out of breath from running too fast.
"Dad", - this is all the young man manages to utter when he sees his father in a hospital bed with bandages around his head and arms.
"Shoma, what took you so long?". - the woman who is sitting by the bed reprimands.
"I'm sorry, Mom, I got there as fast as I could. I also called Itsuki", - Shoma answers meekly, approaching his parents. As he reaches the bed, he sits down on the chair and immediately turns all his attention to his father. "Dad, how are you? Are you ok? What happened?"
"Everything is fine, son. I was just hurt a little in a fire, my burns aren’t that serious". - the man reassures his son good-naturedly trying not to worry his family too much.
"I hope so", - Shoma nods and reflexively reaches out to take his father's hand, but pulls away when he realizes touch would aggravate his father’s injury and with a sigh settles himself on the edge of the bed. "Please get better soon. I'm worried".
The door clicks open behind their backs - It's Itsuki, now they are all together. Shoma loves his family so much.

Shoma is really worried and his dad is really honest with him: a couple of days later he is released from the hospital and now he is back home. He still has a graze on his forehead, taped by the plaster, and his hands are bandaged, although not as tight as before. But the injuries seem less serious, when he is able to be home with his family. Mother isn't frightened anymore, Itsuki is smiling, Shoma himself feels at peace.
The Uno family is close-knit and rather happy. They always have breakfast together. Then Father leaves for work - at the brand jewelry shop Komorebi, - Itsuki goes to his high school, Shoma - to the university, and Mother stays at home, which doesn't mean she is any less busy. In the evening everyone returns home, and their house is once again filled with light and chatting, they have dinner together. Maybe that's why the recent absence of the head of their family was so hard to bear. By contrast there is a cosy and warm atmosphere at home today, everyone gathered in the kitchen for dinner.
The TV in the living room is playing the news. Shoma doesn't want to listen to them so he flips through channels, but the news about a burned-out jewelry store play on all the news programs. Everyone already heard about it dozens of times, but they keep on repeating the same thing over and over again. Shoma flips through channels until he finds an entertainment show.
Even at home, within the family, at dinner or alone with Father no one talks about it. Problems should be solved as they emerge, and only when they can't be solved by themselves. Shoma's dad was running a jewelry shop, now there is no shop, there is nothing. They just have to wait.
