Work Header

care and maintenance of armor (on your knees)

Summary:

Cody never fixes his armor. As Commander, he walks around with scores and gouges, because other people need it more. Because he doesn't have time to fix his armor and repaint it.
Obi-Wan, however, is happy to have him sit and take his time.

Notes:

I'm aware that day five (SPICY) could also mean literal spice, but I took that and also a bit of Day 6 (armor) and made it soft and intimate
but this is for day five and day six will come

Work Text:

Obi-Wan breathed in the scent of armor polish. It made his head float as it surrounded him. He gently buffed Cody’s greaves, carefully wiping off every bit of grit. He looked up at Cody lovingly as he took a break to dip the cloth back in.

“Do you want me to do your helmet too, dear?”

Cody looked back down at him and shook his head. He had set his helmet off on the desk when this started, and Obi-Wan had been enjoying listening to his careful breaths as Obi-Wan worked his way up.

“Later. I was thinking about redoing the design there. Extending the sun bursts.” Cody’s words came out slightly strained, as Obi-Wan moved up to the knee plates and started to carefully polish there. “Everything else will be the same, though.”

Obi-Wan nodded, carefully planning in his head how to sketch those lines out and help Cody repaint. He kept on rubbing as he slowly moved the cloth along the armor. The formula for the polish repaired more than polished, but with soft buffing from the cloth, everything came out clean.

He passed the cloth higher, and started work on Cody’s cuisses, enjoying watching the gouges scored into it disappear as the formula activated, fixing up the plastoid and strengthening it.

The only downside of the formula was its tendency to remove the paint along with damage. There was a fairly easy pattern to see amongst the troopers. Shinies kept their armor repaired, but once given the right to paint it, it was only very occasionally that anyone repaired their armor.

It made sense, he could and would admit. There was only so much his Jedi stipend would stretch to, and between better rations and amenities for the troopers, there was only a little left for buckets of paint. At this point, however, everyone but Cody had repaired their armor at least twice.

Obi-Wan dipped the cloth again, and set it over a particularly deep gouge.

“My dear,” he murmured, “I understand you don’t want to take paint from everyone else, but this is hardly protective anymore.”

“You don’t wear armor at all, boss,” came the rejoinder, softened by the fondness Cody managed to infuse into the term boss. “So unless you’re going to go back to wearing armor, you don’t have a leg to stand on.”

“It doesn’t exactly help flexibility, Cody.” Obi-Wan smiled up at him as he started to work softly at his groin plate. “And you can’t disagree that my ability to backflip on the battlefield is quite important.”

“You wouldn’t have to backflip if you had armor that could take a shot.” Cody grumbled, but it was an argument long worn loose and easy in the war. When there was nothing else to do, the two of them could tease each other about armor. “You used to wear armor,” he added, softly. “What happened to it? The arm armor is very good, but. A good breastplate would help my anxiety a lot.”

“I think I lost it down a hole. Used it as a shovel, if I remember correctly.” Obi-Wan gently massaged the polish into Cody’s groin plate, and enjoyed the soft gasp. “No point wasting energy hunting down armor and the money to order it. It can be used for better things.”

Cody sighed, and moved a gloved hand to Obi-Wan’s hair, petting lightly.

“Wear your damn armor, Obi-Wan. We’ll make room in the budget, like you make room for spices in the mess hall and media for our breaks. Yes?”

Obi-Wan looked up at him, enjoying the slight friction as Cody moved his hand to accommodate him.

“Alright, dear. If it bothers you that much.”

Cody relaxed his grip in Obi-Wan’s hand, and Obi-Wan continued, moving up to the chest plate. With each stroke of the cloth, paint and wear and tear was erased, wiped smoothly away.

Later, Obi-Wan would help Cody sand the armor, apply the paint, and seal it. Right now, he fixed what he could, and kept going, massaging at Cody through his armor, and listened with a quiet joy to the soft noises Cody released. Every soft moan and moment when his breath went unsteady meant that he was doing his job correctly.

When Obi-Wan had proposed this, he knew that what he was offering was more intimate than many would believe, if they had never met a clone, and realized the mix of culture they had picked up and made their own.

Obi-Wan, however, had, and had more than that spent time on Mandalore. He recognized the care and reverence that the clones gave to their armor. More than that, he wanted to give them their individuality. So he provided paint, and attempted to cajole everyone else into doing the same.

Cody moaned quietly as Obi-Wan started to do a second pass. If he happened to focus mostly on the groin plate, well.

He wanted to see if Cody was in the mood for more, tonight.

“Do you want me to start sanding, Cody?”

Cody didn’t respond, and Obi-Wan rested his head on Cody’s thigh from where he kneeled between his legs, looking up at him softly. The scent of the newly-repaired armor wafted off of Cody, and Obi-Wan was happy to let his head float as he leaned against Cody.

Cody’s hand returned to his hair, and started petting Obi-Wan again as Cody considered.

It was nice.

“I don’t think I have the patience for you to finish everything before we move on, alor’ika, so unless you have a plan, you’d better just get moving.”

Obi-Wan grinned up at him.

“I always have a plan. How about I take the edge off, hm?”

Cody looked at him, with an eyebrow raised, as Obi-Wan went for his groin plate and worked the catches to slide it off.

“That’s the oldest plan in the book.”

“Is it?” Obi-Wan carefully worked at the blacks. Normally he hated the damn things, designed to almost never need to be taken off, but at least they had a convenient zipper, which he opened. “I don’t hear you complaining about it.”

“I feel as though attempted seduction might have been one of the only things they didn’t warn us about, actually,” Cody said thoughtfully. “So I suppose of all the tactics you could have picked, this was a good one.”

“Well, more fools they.” Obi-Wan finished carefully peeling away the blacks. “You remember the light system?”

“Yes, Obi-Wan.” Cody spoke softly, and Obi-Wan was just glad that he wasn’t irritated yet that Obi-Wan insisted on checking in every time.

As he leaned in, he heard Cody’s breath catch, like it did every time, and he finally paid attention to the heavy weight of his own cock, held down under his robes.

He licked a slow stripe across Cody’s cunt, looking up at him with love. This is attachment, and this attachment is dangerous, but at this point Obi-Wan can’t help but view attachment to the side he is fighting for as something good. It has given him strength, and resolve, and he will deal with the heresy later.

War has always bred heresy. He remembered reading the Ruusan Reformations, even if no one else did.

Cody tugged at Obi-Wan’s hair, and he let out a moan into Cody and looked up as his circled his tongue lightly around Cody’s cock and wondered what had brought that on.

“Get out of your own head, Obi-Wan. You can talk to me about whatever you were thinking about after this.” Cody tugged again before he scratched at Obi-Wan’s head, making his eyes lid.

Obi-Wan pressed himself against Cody again, sucking his cock into his mouth, and moved his tongue down to briefly press at his hole. He delighted in the soft moans and Cody’s continued tugs at his hair, and decided to go slowly.

Cody sighed happily, and curled around Obi-Wan slightly, thighs pressed against his head. Obi-Wan moaned into him and let himself sink, head going fuzzy and all sense of time lost as he licked and sucked, all the while listening to Cody’s reactions.

Eventually, Cody came with a soft moan, and Obi-Wan licked him up and through it, full of the scent of Cody and the smell of the armor polish. He wasn’t sure how long it had been, but he didn’t mind taking as long as Cody needed.

Cody tugged at his hair briefly, but when Obi-Wan looked up at him, Cody just looked back him, like he was gauging something, and let Obi-Wan continue.

The longer Obi-Wan worked at him, the more Cody let himself go. Obi-Wan hummed happily as he felt Cody start to squirm, and rewarded him for that by moving his hand to the gap between plates. He started to trace circles on Cody’s hip, pressing in to ground him just a bit as Obi-Wan kept on humming against Cody’s cunt.

The gasps and squirms continued, and Cody’s legs wrapped around Obi-Wan, pressing him harder against him. Obi-Wan abused breath control to not pull back and kept going, desperately licking at Cody. He switched between licking and sucking, careful to keep a mental eye on Cody’s reactions.

Eventually, Cody released him, and slumped in the chair, panting.

“Obi-Wan. Enough. It’s time to sand and paint.” He tugged Obi-Wan away and up, pulling him into a deep kiss, and Obi-Wan went willingly, head still fuzzy with pleasure and love. Obi-Wan sighed into the kiss, and pressed himself into Cody’s body. He could still feel his own cock leaking, but he felt no real desire to deal with it.

Now was for Cody, and as Obi-Wan floated over the sandpaper, Cody carefully set him back down and started to pet him again. With Cody’s gloved hands in his hair, Obi-Wan started to carefully rub the sandpaper onto Cody’s armor, floating in the trust and intimacy of the moment.

Maybe, if he was lucky, he would get to do that between every step.
