Summary
There's another baby photo trend going around social media, and since the last one went over so well, Harris wants the team to try it. It's the one where they put a statement about an adult over a picture of them as a baby, like a cherubic little baby Ilya captioned "THIS IS WHO PUNCHED A REFEREE." But this time, the Centaurs staff are getting in on the action, and Harris shows his own version to the team as an example.
When Shane sees little tiny Harris, he's struck literally speechless. He's been hanging out with Harris since before he was officially a Centaur. How did he never recognize that the team's social media manager was his favorite teammate from junior skills clinics? How did he not realize, with the benefit of hindsight and also knowing his sexuality, that Harris was his biggest childhood crush?

Summary
The Metros make a request of Shane: can he wait ten, fifteen minutes before he gets in the shower after practice? Just so the rest of them can shower first? It's only fair that they get to go first, since they have wives and girlfriends waiting for them at home, and obviously they can't shower at the same time. They wouldn't want Shane checking them out, or anything.
Shane gets the vicious crashout he deserves and gives the (individualized, highly personal) callouts the Metros deserve.

Summary
The thing about being gay and closeted---gay and closeted and desperate to stay there and terrified that the people around you will figure it out---is that it leads to a lot of walking on eggshells. You wear a purple shirt one time and a teammate says that it's girly, what are you, gay?, and you laugh it off then throw the shirt away and never wear anything purple (or pink, or orange or yellow, just to be safe) again. You can sacrifice that to keep your secret, your friendships, your career safe.
One locker room joke about bands that wear eyeliner, and rookie Shane Hollander (whose buddy Joe lost a stick of liner in his car on their way to Warped Tour that summer to celebrate the start of his NHL career) panics and says he doesn't listen to music at all, ever. To keep the lie going, he stops listening to music in public for over a decade---until Harris is trying to talk to him about a social media trend and references a song Shane is too distracted to pretend he doesn't know.

Summary
In Monopoly, a "get out of jail free" card is a card that, as the name implies, lets the player get out of jail without paying for it. When you have that card, you don't have to play it immediately. You just hold onto it in case it's ever needed.
The Montreal Metros had a rule in their contracts nobody really followed. It was stupid so everyone broke it, and it was just kind of an open secret. They'd never FIRE you for breaking it, so who cared?
Well, a Shane Hollander who knew he was already doing something a lot worse that he couldn't legally be fired for and didn't want to give them a different excuse. That's who cared.
Or: A post-game press conference gets very honest in a way that reflects a hell of a lot worse on his old team than it does on Shane.

Summary
The kyber crystal chooses the Jedi. Wielding a saber whose crystal didn't choose you will never be as easy as wielding your own. This means sabers a) have the capacity to like or dislike people and b) have the capacity to be obstinate little shits to people they dislike.
If a certain Jedi's saber really likes you, I'm not saying it means you're soulmates, but I'm not saying it DOESN'T mean you're soulmates, either.
Most works reference each other but stand alone fairly well, so reading previous isn't necessarily required, but I would recommend reading at least the first before Cards on the Table. To readers who want all the fluff and nothing else, skip that last one. Series is listed as complete but I may wander back someday should my muse desire.

Objectively, this used to be true. Nowadays Shane has many, many plans, between his nightly plans to look at Ilya’s penis through Skype and his various long-term plans laid out helpfully in his notebook, Canva (For Ilya’s sake. He is a visual learner), and more recently, Excel. Shane loves that excel sheet. He’s colour coded it.
In 2017, Shane Hollander spirals and proposes to his boyfriend of 4 days (or 7 years, or 9 years, or not his boyfriend at all, depending on how you look at it), which leads to a lot of plans, weird theories in the Montreal Voyageur locker room, some Twitter drama, and Ilya Rozanov entering his WAG era.
