Chapter Text
He woke up feeling refreshed.
This didn't happen often, most nights were still rough to navigate, but he felt surprisingly happy today. Maybe that was cause this semester of classes were over, officially leaving him on Christmas break in his cozy one bedroom apartment he shared with his lover. Akira wasn't by his side when he woke up, but the warm smell of pancakes led him to their small kitchen where he found the raven hard at work. Morgana was on the countertop, eating a can of tuna.
He smiled at the scene, feeling all was right in the world right now.
He went back to their room before Akira saw him, changing into a pair of new boxers and one of Akira's oversized shirts. Finding his featherman pacifier, he went back out into the kitchen where Akira finally laid eyes on him. Quickly processing that Goro was feeling small, he gave a warm smile and opened an arm, letting Goro walk over and snuggle up to him while he cooked. He felt Akira kiss the top of his head, "morning pumpkin, did you sleep well?"
Goro nodded with a small hum, staring at the pancakes already stacked to the side. He reached for one, and Akira playfully swatted his hand away. "Not yet baby. We have to take them to the table first." The brunet frowned, lightly stomping his foot.
"Hey," Akira chastised. "None of that."
He grumbled, moving to sit down at the table as he waited for his caregiver. Soon, Akira arrived back with a hot plate of pancakes, setting already cut up ones drizzled in syrup in front of the little. He eagerly grabbed his fork and dived in, not a care in the world while Morgana rubbed up against his leg with a purr. Akira finished before he did, getting up to collect Goro's plate when he was done and putting them both in the sink. "Why don't you go grab Fish and we can watch TV, can you do that for Daddy?"
Goro's face lit up, happy to go get his favorite toy and have a whole day snuggling with Daddy. He rushed back into the room, digging through the closet to find...nothing.
Fish, his most beloved bunny plush, was missing.
He tore up the room in a frenzy, "no, no, no, no" he whispered to himself, tears filling his eyes and threatening to spill. He dropped to his knees and began to cry.
