Chapter 1: Prolog

Chapter Text

“I know that you’d trust—”

Porsche got his word cut off as the face of Vegas appears before his eyes and not Kinn—the one he’s been expecting to come back to him and told him what he wants to hear: that Kinn trusts him, that this is just some sort of misunderstanding or a pretending, that he did not just let the words of the ex that had betrayed him in the past weight more than Porsche’s, the one who willingly to cut his hand for the other.

Surely Kinn realizes just how protective is Porsche of him? He avoids exposing them, afraid it may ruin Kinn’s image in front of all of his people. Surely he knows that Porsche is his bodyguard and he follows him to protect him, like how a bodyguard should be? He knows it is so childish of him to try and bug Tawan but God, did Kinn ever think about what it feels like seeing the ex of your boyfriend have his face in your boyfriend’s cock? And so suspiciously bring him into a secluded place too! Porsche can only think of two possibilities; either Tawan tries to seduce Kinn or he wants to hurt him. Both didn’t sit well in Porsche’s gut so he do what he had to do.

Kinn sounds so cold, so angry out of blue, Porsche wonders why.

Did he do something before that? Something that got Kinn all worked up? But he tries to stay professional the whole time Kinn and Tawan—

Unless Kinn perhaps see Vegas by the pool and got angry because of that? No, that won’t be right. It didn’t make sense. Porsche did not do anything remotely that was worth Kinn’s anger. Vegas did not try to kiss him— again— per se and surely Kinn knows that it’s Vegas who comes to the major family to see him in the pool and not Porsche going all the way to visit Vegas or something. He did not try to hang out with Vegas, just like how Kinn wanted him to be. If the guy then shows up at the major family’s house, who is Porsche to kick him away?

“Run away with me, Porsche,” Vegas said, eyes worried and actually teary.

Vegas has been a confusing person. Porsche has a hard time reading the other but he knows how dangerous the other is and the possibility of his kindness to Porsche is nothing more but to despite Kinn is very high—so he always needs to be on guard without offending the other. Something about his eyes makes Porsche shiver in fear.

But the eyes right now, it’s pure desperation and fear for him— something that he cannot even see in Kinn’s eyes when Big and Ken dragged him out.

Should Porsche believe the genuine worry that Vegas showed? Who can assure that this man is not trying to make things worse for him? Should he even trust Vegas at all?

You trust Kinn and yet here you are. Porsche hears the voice inside his head murmur. Kinn doesn’t trust you, what is the difference?

Damn, that hurt. Reality hurt.

His chest feels heavy the more he thinks about it so Porsche throws all of his feelings to the back of his mind and tries to focus on the man standing before him. What he is doing here? How did Vegas know he was here?

“Khun Vegas, how do you know I am here?” he asked.

Vegas sighed and shakes his head while licking his lips worrying before answering, “Look, I will explain later. You just have to come with me now, Porsche, let’s go!”

Porsche takes a step back instead. “Khun Vegas, I think you shouldn’t be here.”

“No, no, Porsche, listen—they will kill you! Every piece of evidence point at you, for them, you are the mole. Kinn won’t hesitate to have you killed now! Think about your little brother!”

Porsche’s eyebrow raised at that.

Vegas is bluffing for real. Kinn may not trust him but he will never kill him! The man takes a bullet for him—something Vegas doesn’t know. If Vegas was trying to have Porsche go against Kinn, he had to do better than this.

“You are lying.”

Vegas bangs his hand hard to the cell, “Fuck it, Porsche! Look at you! Kinn is not in love with you! He never moves on from Tawan, you see how he chooses his words against you despite us all knowing how Tawan sold his information to the Italians. He lied to you. He said he kill Tawan, right? But Tawan definitely alive, no? You have not once shown disloyalty to him but here you are while Tawan is up there sitting by Kinn’s side and—”

“No! Stop! I don’t want to hear it!”

Porsche close both of his ears with his hand, stepping back from Vegas until his back hit the wall—like a child avoiding hearing his parent yell at him.

All of his fresh wounds feel like being cut open again and again.

In the back of his eyelids, all he sees is everything he had witnessed since Tawan come back.

How Kinn let Tawan hold his hand, talking about the past right in the front of Porsche’s eyes—Porsche has to literally open his mouth to make Kinn stop and realize his existence, even then, the man can’t even read his sign properly. He put a picture in the back of the frames and fix Tawan’s broken phone—Kinn has been treating Tawan more kindly than he treat his bodyguard that failed to do something. It’s Tawan who betrayed him, but the other got to be walking around the mansion and visiting Porsche on his cell? Isn’t Tawan a hostage too? Why did he get to be protected in one of the guest rooms while Porsche is here? If Tawan got poison here, isn’t this place clearly not safe for Porsche too?

Ah, guess because he is the mole for them so he doesn’t deserve protection.

Fuck, it hurts.

“Porsche, please, let me help you,” Vegas coaxed, “You are not the mole. I don’t have to think twice to know you are not the mole.”

“I trust you, Porsche.”

Why Kinn? Why does it have to be Vegas that trusted me and not you?

Everything happens so fast.

Porsche’s head buzzing. He feels so overwhelmed by his feelings that he did not realize it before it was too late.

Someone come down the stairs in a fast step and the moment the leg reach the bottom—something sharp pushed Porsche on his chest so hard that his breath got stuck in his throat.

“NO! PORSCHE!”

He hears Vegas yell, but the voice sounds far away. He blinks, confused, doesn’t know why Vegas yells and why his whole body feels numb. He looks down and sees the front of his shirt turned wet—he wonders if something is leaking just now from the above—so he reaches out his hand to touch it only to realize it is blood when he pulls his hand back to see what is it.

Suddenly his nerves recognize pains—all of his body went numb but his chest burned.

He must be losing his footing because when Porsche looks up again, he finds himself no longer eyes on eyes with Vegas. The man has his hand reached out to him behind the bars, trying to shake it off as if he was an animal trying to break free out of a cage. Someone is standing behind him, holding a gun and still pointing it at Porsche and it takes a while for him to recognize Ken.

Did Ken just shoot him? Why?

All the memories he had since he was a child until just a minute ago—highlighting the part where Kinn looks at him for what probably will be the last time in those cold loveless eyes—replaying in his mind and Porsche wonder does it meant he is dying.

Then his body drop completely to the floor and his world turned black

Porsche gasp for air and end up choking on what seems to be cigarette smoke. He coughs so hard that the cigarette falls from his fingers and he got tears in the corner of his eyes. When he finally stops feeling like he is dying, he straightens his back and takes a deep breath before finally opening his eyes.

He blinks in confusion at what he saw.

Porsche remembers as clear as the sky that he just got shot not even a minute ago—his hand automatically reached his chest where it was burned very bad not a second ago but now he feels nothing of sort—and probably died by how he sees his hand in front of his own face as he drops to the floor. He sees Ken holding the gun and Vegas screaming out his name from outside of the cell.

But he is not even in the cell anymore now.

There is no Vegas, no Ken.

As he looks around, all he saw is the back of the bar he knew the most—Yok’s bar. When he look down at himself, he didn’t even wear the last clothes he remember wearing back in the Theerapanyakul mansion. Instead, he wore his usual bartender gig kind of fashion.

What the fuck? He thought. Is this some sort of hell? Heaven? Why he is here and not in some place with clouds?

Porsche looks around one more time and scans the clothes he currently wearing, then reach out to his pocket to find his phone and check the date on it—he gasps out loud.

The date? It’s impossible!

He wore these clothes, resting in the back of Yok’s bar with a cigarette in his hands looking exactly like how he met Kinn for the very first time. The date on his phone confirmed it.

“Did I just time travel or something??”

Did this some sort of sorcery? A witch thing? Or is this—a second chance for him?

Before Porsche can even think further, he hears the sound of people running towards him, and just like how he remembers it the very first time—Kinn, his love, his heart, his life—is running towards him and yells, “Help me!”

The realization hit him then.
