The Real Magic is You

Summary:

Princess Hifumi Togo has been kidnapped, once again, by the fearsome, evil Sorcerer Goro Akechi. But fear not! The Revered Knight, Akira Kurusu, is on his way to save the fair Princess!
...
He is going there to save the Princess, right?

Notes:

Ever have that thought while playing Super Mario or Legend of Zelda like, "Damn, these two should fuck," and ignore the princess entirely (also known as that prompt that circled the internet from tumbler (??????) for a bit)? Yeahhh...So here you go!
Edit: So, just as a general note there will be a few light references to abuse (mental, physical, emotional) sustained by Akira. I'll go through a bit more in depth later and tag the proper chapters but just wanted to be clear. Also thank you to whoever in their bookmarks tagged this with PTSD, I totally forgot to add that.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

The Knight cuts down the legion, slashing his dagger skyward across one of the beast's many faces, sending it back and careening to the floor. He pauses for a moment, adrenaline still coursing through his veins as he looks around the room, panting and waiting for another enemy to come, but it’s silent.

He sighs, wipes his dagger on his forearm guard then steps around the legion and to the stairs it was blocking.

He has a date to get to after all.

He walks up the steps, the dark stone walls slowly turning white and pristine the further up he goes. The torches that lined the walls of the lower levels of the towers turn to floating red and gold orbs of pure magic lighting the way.

He has calmed down a bit, the adrenaline powering him through that last fight now gone, leaving the sore ache in his bones more prominent as he pushes himself up the stairs. Fighting against the exhaustion threatening to overwhelm him.

Just a little longer , He thinks, the top of the stairs finally coming into view. Just a little longer.

The knight crests the stairs, walking into a large, open space. The floor and walls and ceiling are all white and clean, not a spec of dirt anywhere. Carved into the walls looks to be some sort of ancient script, whether it is some sort of spell or decoration, the Knight isn’t sure but stays away from them to be safe. On the floor is a circular carving around the center of the room with multiple circles intersecting and within the largest, the same ancient script working into the circle as 7 pillars are placed at strategic points around the largest circle, straight lines connecting the pillars inside the circles. Orbs of red and gold and blue and silver hovering above the pillars and up towards the ceiling, lighting the room in a mix of colors. A room he has seen dozens of times but never fails to take his breath away.

And in the center, standing on a raised platform is a familiar form turned away from the Knight. Arcane writings and runes glowing on the floor underneath them, lighting the figure up from beneath. The glow shifts from color to color, constantly changing. Different runes on the ground lighting up at separate times, casting wild, unpredictable shadows around the man.

A man wearing white robes accented with gold and red, his hood covering his head. The deceased Dark Emperor Masayoshi Shido’s son. One of, if not the, most powerful Sorcerer on the continent. His enemy. His equal. His rival.

The Knight sighs, stopping a little ways into the room. The glow from underneath fades and the Sorcerer turns, his gentle face peeking out from under the hood. His wine colored eyes piercing into the Knights own silver ones and sending a shiver down his spine.

      And the Sorcerer grins.

      “Joker.”

      “Crow.”

~

“Crow!” Akira screams as he comes again, the bed beneath him already soaked from his previous orgasms. His arms tense and pull against the ropes restraining him, but they don’t break. They barely leave any give for him.

       Just as I wanted.

The Sorcerer chuckles from behind him, pleased. He slows down his strokes on Akira’s cock and the thrust of his fingers in his ass, still working him through his orgasm. “So, so pretty when you come for me.”

“Nngh. Goro,” Akira moans as the last of his orgasm works through him, shuddering and writhing at the obvious oversensitivity until Goro stops. “Goro—“

“Shh, I know,” Goro coos, his hand leaving his lover’s spent cock and rubbing his back soothingly. So damn gorgeous. “Just a little longer, darling. You can last a little longer, can’t you?”

Akira groans, still panting heavily. Goro, smirking with pride at the state of his lover and continuing to ignore the ache in his own dick that has been building all evening, distracts himself by rubbing up and down Akira’s back. Occasionally dipping lower to rub at his lover’s asscheeks, red from the abuse they took earlier, and spends a bit of his magic to soothe the sting there, getting a grateful sigh in response. His eyes roam hungrily over Akira, his arms stuck over his head, wrists tied together with red ropes that contrast his pale skin so well. The deep slope to his back, exposing his bare ass to the air in a way that screams for him to be railed into the mattress.

Goro reaches down and grabs the base of his cock as it throbs. Soon. Soon.

He leans forward and places small kisses along Akira’s shoulders, slowly making his way up to his ear and tugging on it with his teeth. “Darling…”

Akira groans again. “I know, I know—“

He’s cut off with a yelp as Goro slaps his ass, squeezing it harshly.

“Don’t talk back,” He growls, feeling a shiver up Akira’s spine, “Be nice, Akira. You want to be good for me don’t you?”

Akira moans at the sound of Goro growling directly in his ear and he nods his head.

“Say it.” Goro starts thrusting his fingers into his ass again, slow to start but speeding up and using Akira’s moans as encouragement. “Tell me, Akira. Tell me.”

“I want to be good,” Akira whispers, his words turning to a whimper at the end as Goro hits his prostate and reaches around to grasp his cock once more, stroking the softened, sensitive flesh slowly. Pouring a bit of magic in, enough to restore his arousal but not enough to make the sensitivity disappear, leaving Akira hard and whimpering as he strokes.

      “Louder.”

      “I’ll be good for you.”

“Again.” Another powerful thrust right on his prostate.

      “Ah! Goro please!”

“Tell me, Akira,” he growls, pressing his cock right against Akira’s ass. “Say it.”

Akira sobs as his hand stops moving, trying to push his hips back but with Goro still on his back and against his hips, he can’t move at all.

Goro smirks at the desperate whine. Just a little more.

“Come on, Akira. Say it for me. Say you’ll be good for me while I fuck you, use you—“

Akira whimpers, his forehead dropping to the bed. “Goro, please—-“

Goro smirks and nibbles on his ear again before finally purring, “say it for me, love.”

And just like always, Akira moans loudly and breaks.

“Please! Please, Goro, I’ll be good. I’ll be so good, please, please fuck me! Use me! Please, I want to be so good for you. Please—“

His begging and pleading is cut off with a loud moan as Goro shoves his cock into his lover, moaning at the warm, delicious feeling of finally being inside of him after hours of teasing and watching Akira come over and over again. It’s almost enough to finish him off before he can even start. He grips onto Akira’s hip, hard enough to bruise and breathes carefully, adjusting to the feeling and ignoring Akira’s whines and begs for more, please

As soon as he feels as though he won’t burst at the smallest movement, he slowly starts to pull out, Akira whining as he does, and just as slowly pushes back in. He sticks with the slow pace, listening to Akira sob and plead, occasionally stroking his dick at the same pace forcing a moan from him.

But even he can’t keep up that pace for long. No matter how much he adores hearing his lover beg and sob so prettily for him, Goro soon succumbs to both Akira’s pleading and his own painful need for release. He pounds into him at a relentless pace, adjusting slightly to hit that spot that never fails to make Akira scream.

“Ah! Goro! Please, please, I-I can’t—“

He leans over Akira again, stroking his hair before dragging his hand lower and stroking his cock, thumbing at the leaking tip. “God…You feel so fucking good Akira.”

Akira whines, dropping his head forward. “Goro—“

“Come for me. Let go Love.”

Akira screams as he comes again, his hips jerking against Goro’s grip. His walls spasm around his dick and with one more thrust and moan, Goro’s cumming, filling Akira as his vision goes white.

~

Goro isn’t sure how long he’s out of it before he starts to regain his senses. His now softened length is still buried in Akira as he remains hovering over him, somehow through that mind shattering orgasm he retained enough sense to not collapse onto the still bound man.

Goro groans and pushes himself up, pulling carefully out of Akira which draws a whimper from him.

“Shh.” Goro runs a hand up Akira’s back, trying to soothe him while waving his other hand in the air and undoing all the ropes binding the knight at once. “You’re alright, love. I have you.”

      “Mmngm.”

Goro chuckles, gently turning Akira over and running his hands up his body, letting his magic flow into Akira and soothe every ache and pain, both from his fight up the tower and from their…activities. Akira starts to stir more and more as he works, muscles tensing and hands reaching for Goro, which he brushes off with a chuckle. But, after another couple of attempts from Akira, he lets one of his hands be held as he works at the redness around Akira’s wrists.

“Akira.” He waits until the knight turns his head and looks at him, sluggishly. “How are you?”

Akira blinks slowly, before a lazy, completely satisfied grin grows on his face.

“Good,” he mumbles, reaching the hand not being held up as if to caress Goro’s face but misses, his fingertips barely grazing the sorcerer's jaw, “Really good.”

      “Anywhere else hurt?”

Akira shifts, tilting his head side to side before shaking his head. “Nope.”

Goro smiles, grabbing Akira’s hand still hovering near his face and kissing his palm, making Akira sigh happily. Before he suddenly frowns and glares at Goro.

      “Legion? Really?”

Goro snickers. “What? Too difficult for you? I would think the Revered Knight, looked up to by all in the land, could take on one simple enemy.”

“I can and did take care of it, and that isn’t the problem here and you know it.” Akira pouts. “We’ve been dating for at least three years now, you can just, ya know, let me in without making me fight up your stupid tower every time.”

Goro snickers meanly. “Oh, but why would I do that? What sort of rival would I be if I just ‘let you in?’ That would be—“

“‘That would be the ultimate insult to our position as sworn rivals for all of time. We are two sides of the same coin and it would be an offense to not challenge you at every opportunity to remind you of our bond and how only you have ever made the complete trek up my tower making you worthy of my attention.’” Akira recites perfectly from the dozens of times they’ve had this argument. Goro raises an eyebrow.

“If you know the answer, why do you ask?”

Akira shrugs. “Maybe I believe if I annoy you enough about it you’ll eventually cave?”

       “Unlikely.”

“Stubborn,” Akira mutters, snuggling further into the bed, sighing and closing his eyes.

Goro scoffs. “As if you aren’t equally as stubborn.” His lover hums in acknowledgment and leans into the hand now caressing his face. When Goro goes to pull his hand away, Akira whines.

      Little shit.

Goro huffs a laugh and indulges his lover for a few more moments, running his hand soothingly through his hair. Over and over and over again. A small, satisfied smile on his face.

      “...Akira?”

      “Mm?”

“You are aware I’ll need you to move to clean the bed, yes?”

Akira whines and turns on his side, gripping the bed sheets.

      “Noooooo. I comfy.”

“You’ll be more comfortable when not covered, and lying, in come.”

Akira groans, but sits up, leaning heavily into Goro. “That’s your fault.”

Goro chuckles smugly, running a hand up Akira’s side. “I’m well aware. There’s a bath ready, go and I’ll come join you in a moment.”

Akira looks up from under us bangs, giving him a teasingly suggestive look. “Promise?”

      Goro rolls his eyes. “Insatiable.”

“Always for you,” Akira says, smiling as he topples over onto Goro’s lap, looking up at him.

Goro scoffs, refusing to acknowledge the heat in his cheeks, and flicks his lover on the nose (who scrunches it up adorably).

“You need rest, just as I do. Using as much magic as I have takes its toll.” He pointedly won’t mention how much of that use was from summoning the amount of monsters he did. That little detail isn’t too important. Not unless he genuinely wishes to anger the knight. Which could be very fun later, but not while they are both exhausted.

“Fine,” Akira sighs, dramatically. He sits up and stands, stretching his arms over his head and walking into the washroom. Not without blowing a kiss to his lover before leaving his sight.

Goro, after waiting a moment for the heat in his face to recede, stands up. He rolls his shoulders and waves a hand over the bed. The dirty covers and sheets pull off on their own, floating over to a bin as Goro walks over to a deep red armchair off to the side that has two robes on it. One a bright red and the other white. Goro takes the white one, ties it around himself and heads towards the large set of black curtains and shoves them aside, revealing a gorgeous view of the forests surrounding his tower, which is invisible to everyone until they enter the clearing around it, making it near impossible for anyone to find.

With the exception of a certain, black haired knight.

Goro opens the windows and waits until three crows fly in. One with white eyes with a gold ring around the pupil, one with one white and one black eye, and the last with red eyes. He pets each one, letting his magic loosen their tongues and allow them to speak.

“Well?” Goro starts, looking toward the one with white eyes first. “How is our little guest?”

Robin hops forward. “Princess Hifumi is doing well. She is comfortable, fed and reading, door sealed until you command otherwise, Sire.”

Goro nods, internally wincing at the title Robin still hasn’t stopped calling him despite all his effort, and gives him scratches under his chin and praising him. Once Robin has hopped back, he looks at the crow with one white and one black eye.

Loki takes an overly malevolent step forward, head bowed and talons sharp. “The lower levels are all cleaned, bodies accounted for and disposed of.”

      “Any survivors?”

Loki cackles before saying, somehow with a grin in his voice even though he is a bird , “None.”

      Goro smirks, pleased.

       That’s my Akira.

“Good.” He coos, scratching under Loki’s chin until he hops back, and turns his gaze to the red eyed crow. His smirk fades and he grows serious.

      “Were they following him again?”

Hereward bobs his head. “Yes, the same group from before. I was able to distract them and get them lost until the knight made his way to you. I haven’t spotted them since.”

Goro furrows his brow. “How many are there?”

Hereward tilts his head, not responding.

      Goro growls, “Hereward. Answer me.”

      The crow blinks.

“In case you have forgotten, I’m a bird. I can’t count.”

Goro glares at the bird, not saying anything.

Hereward stares back, unblinking. He shuffles from talon to talon, the movement nearly drawing Goro’s eye but he doesn’t break eye contact.

      “...”

      “...”

      “...Six,” Hereward finally grumbles.

Goro narrows his eyes and glares just a moment longer before he sighs and looks out the window, annoyed.

They can’t trust in their precious knight to retrieve their princess, can they? Perhaps they are growing suspicious. Unlikely, considering how moronic everyone is in that disgusting Kingdom.

“Thank you, Hereward,” He says, looking back down and scratching the crows chin. “Keep an eye out for me.”

Goro looks over all three of them and says, “Have whatever you all desire from my tower. Do your best to keep us…uninterrupted for a few days, will you?”

They all caw, croak and coo in response before flying back out of the room. Goro stands, closes the windows and looks at the bed. A set of fresh sheets and covers on it, pristine and more importantly, far more comfortable than wet, dirty sheets. He stores the red rope away by hand (his magic is getting too low to use on minor inconveniences), and retreats into the washroom. The air warm and moist, Akira already resting in the large, steaming pool embedded in the floor. His hair is wet and slicked back, head and arms resting on the edge and eyes closed.

He leans against the doorway for a moment, looking Akira over. He took the opportunity to do the same earlier, prior to their rush to his bedroom, to make sure there were no serious injuries from his trip up the tower and certainly had his fill of watching Akira while he ruined him, but now he is noticing the smaller things. How he looks just the smallest bit skinnier and more muscular. How his skin is just the tiniest bit paler.

How the bags under his eyes are even darker than they were the last time they were together.

Something has been running Akira ragged. Whether it be that idiotic Queen, his parents or even his unobservant group of morons he calls his friends, Goro doesn’t know.

Yet…that isn’t the only difference. Something has shifted in Akira. He isn’t the same thief he fell for. While he loves every part of Akira he can’t help but worry. This isn’t the same Joker that would face the Dark Emperor, Goro’s very own shitstain of a father, with a grin and call him a hairy egg to his face. This Akira has lost that fire. Oh, he kept it hidden previously, and well at that. Well enough for Goro not to see it for a long while, but it was there. But ever since he’s been given the title of Revered Knight and chained to that Kingdom, that fire has diminished until only embers remain.

Goro knows that it isn’t Akira’s doing either. That blasted Queen and his father are the more likely suspects in that case.

But here, in his tower, Akira won’t have to worry about any of that. No Queens sending him off to train soldiers and no fathers that spawned out the ass crack of the devil. Not as long as Goro can distract him from his wandering thoughts. And oh, how well he can distract the Knight.

Goro steps down into the pool, sighing at the pleasant heat, and sits adjacent to Akira. He rests his head back, basking in the warmth and comfortable silence between them. Waiting.

      “Bed made?”

Goro smirks, rolling his head and looking at Akira. Looking far more relaxed than Goro knows he is.

      “Yes.”

Akira hums. Another silent moment between them before Akira opens his eyes, moves his arms into the pool and sinks slightly deeper in.

“I heard Hereward,” He quietly admits.

“I assumed so,” Goro says, just as quietly.

      Akira shifts, uncomfortably.

“Do you know who is following me?”

“Unfortunately not. They’re all cloaked and their faces are covered, from what Hereward tells me. Possibly to keep their identities hidden in case you notice them and they can flee without you knowing who or what they belong to.” He lets that sink in for a moment, watching Akira’s brow furrow in thought before he continues. “But, I had Hereward accompany me last time I borrowed—” Akira huffs a laugh at the use of the word “—the Princess and he says they started following soon after you left from the same direction that you came from.”

Akira’s eyes drop, and he sinks deeper in until only his head is sticking out.

      “Do you think they know?”

“That was my thought, although I lack conclusive evidence at this time.” Goro moves closer to Akira, wrapping an arm around his waist as he rises, sighing and curling against Goro’s side.

“I don’t want to get stuck there, Goro.”

“And you won’t,” He states, wrapping his other arm around Akira and pulling him closer. “Not as long as I have a say in it.”

A promise he can make without ever breaking it. The only reason he hasn’t “stolen” Akira away from Lucera, his Kingdom, is the fact that everyone in that wretched land wouldn’t rest until they found their Knight. Not that it would be a problem for the Sorcerer. He can easily kill anyone and everyone that would come their way, but he knows Akira would prefer to avoid the genocide of his home and its people.

But that doesn’t mean he can’t cause some chaos for them.

“When I leave,” Akira starts, pulling Goro’s focus back, “can I take one of the crows with me? Just in case something does happen and I need you.”

“Of course,” He responds instantly. Not needing to confer with any of the crows and gain their approval. They all adore Akira and follow him anyways. If at least one of them physically being with Akira makes him feel safer, then it isn’t even a debate. Even if Robin or Loki say no, Hereward at least will say yes. He always says yes when it comes to the Knight.

I have absolutely no idea where he gets it from.

Akira sighs, relieved and melts into his embrace, loosely returning it. Nuzzling his head into Goro’s shoulder.

      “I missed you.”

And as he looks down at Akira, this Knight without a drop of magic in him, a Knight that somehow stole Goro’s heart when he didn’t even realize he still had one. A Knight that somehow loves and missed him—a no-good, cursed child of a prostitute who killed herself—he can’t help how his heart pounds, his entire being suffuses with warmth and love for this incomprehensible man he has somehow fallen deeply and irrevocably for.

He squeezes Akira tighter and kisses his forehead.

      “...And I you.”

~

Once they are both clean, they retreat back to the bed and under the covers. Their legs intertwined and Akira resting his head comfortably on Goro’s chest. Far calmer and relaxed than he has been in so long. Probably since the last time he saw Goro.

Akira loves his Kingdom. He really, really does. But with his parents and the Queen’s constant urging of his marriage to Princess Hifumi and his own hectic schedule of training his soldiers and taking care of his friends and retired thieves has made his days even longer and tiring. He rarely has time to actually see those he considers his family these days and it’s been wearing him out. And he isn’t including the struggle of not seeing Goro for months.

So he was already extremely tired before coming to Goro’s tower, fighting up every level and finally seeing his lover after so long. And being in his arms again is an incredibly welcome change of pace from his usual days as of late. Being taken care of for once instead of being the one to care for. Not having to see his parents or play nice and polite to nobles and Queens, instead allowing himself to let loose around the man he loves more than anything in this world. His other half.

He feels Goro shift slightly, one arm starts to gently stroke up and down his back.

      “You’re thinking again.”

Akira huffs a laugh. “Good things this time. I promise.”

Goro hums, not probing any farther, which Akira appreciates. Goro always seems to know when to push and pull away with Akira, and the same is true for the reverse. Akira just…gets Goro. He doesn’t know why but he just does. And Goro gets him in a way no one else ever has and ever could.

Even more evidence for my soulmate theory Goro keeps shooting down. I’ll get him to agree one day.

He snuggles his head against his chest, closing his eyes again and basking in the warmth of Goro underneath him.

“Do you think Hifumi is aware?” Goro asks.

Akira laughs, lifting his head so that he’s looking up at Goro’s face. “I’d be shocked if she isn’t by now.”

And he isn’t lying. Hifumi—one of the only people from Lucera that Goro will call by name instead of ‘idiot’ or ‘dumbass’—is far more intelligent and perceptive than anyone truly knows. But, she is also easily swayed by the people she loves. It’s how her mother has continued to control her for so long while her father slowly recovers from his illness.

“If anything I think she enjoys these kidnappings as much as us. No responsibilities to her kingdom to take care of, no pretending and she can just read and care for herself.” Akira smiles as Goro huffs a laugh before reaching up and stroking his lover’s jaw. “She hates the marriage as much as I do. You don’t have to worry about her.”

      Goro hums, considering Akira’s words.

“I see your point. Although, I doubt she enjoys this quite as much as you and I do.”

Akira laughs. “I don’t know. She really likes her alone time.”

“Oh, I am not doubting that,” He starts, a small sensual grin growing on his face as he tugs Akira up until they are face to face, his hands straying down just above the curve of his ass. Goro leans in and murmurs, “But I know you and I can entertain one another far more than a few books can.”

Akira huffs another laugh, his voice a tad breathless as Goro’s hands stray lower, kneading his ass and one leg coming up between Akira’s. “Yeah? Why don’t you show me?”

Goro huffs a laugh, brushing his lips, tongue, teeth against the side of Akira’s neck. “Insatiable.”

      “Only for you.”

It will always only be for you.

Goro pulls back, tugging Akira’s hair to get his head in the best position to ravish his mouth. His mouth fierce in its kiss, unrelenting and overpowering to where it feels as if Goro is devouring him and Akira loves it.

So when Goro suddenly pulls away, he tries to chase him, only held back by the grip on his hair.

“Tempting, but we both need sleep.”

As he lets go of Akira’s hair, his head drops back down onto the Sorcerer’s chest face first and he whines.

      “Gorooooooo.”

      “Yes, my dear?”

Akira looks up, glaring at the smug look on Goro’s face.

      “You’re a dick.”

“If I recall correctly you happen to like my dick quite a lot.”

Akira drops his head back down, whining and writhing on top of his asshole of a lover. Who simply laughs and stills him with a grip on Akira’s hips.

      “Tomorrow, love.”

      Akira glances up, eyes narrowed.

      “Promise?”

Goro huffs a laugh, stroking the skin on his hip.

     “Yes, I promise.”

Akira stares a moment longer, disguising his admiring of Goro’s gorgeous face ( fucking hell how is he real? He is so fucking hot, ) with him scrutinizing his lover to see if he is lying. Once he has had his ( momentary ) fill of his lover’s beautiful face, he drops his head back down.

“Fine. I’ll be very upset with you if you are lying.”

Goro simply huffs a laugh, kissing the top of his head.

Now that he isn’t purposefully being riled up ( the asshole ) he easily starts to slip more and more towards sleep. His eyelids growing heavier and breathing becoming deeper. But before he closes his eyes, he nuzzles Goro’s chest and slurs:

      “I love you.”

And before unconsciousness truly takes him, he feels another kiss on his head and Goro quietly say,

      “I love you too.”
