Chapter Text
Robin looked at the thick forest passing by below the space shuttle. The mood was tense and stern at the beginning of every mission. It came with the knowledge that they didn’t knew what they were going to find, they never knew. It came with the territory of being a hero.
Batman sent them to a nature reserve near the Jug Bay area because the league received intel that Poison Ivy and two face had a plan to poison the water of the nearby town with super growth spores that would wipe the city out within a day.
Which they definitely had to stop from happening-
The plan was somewhat simple once at the waterworks they were to split up into two teams, Superboy, Aqua lad, Mrs. Martian, and Artemis were to burst in, take out all the thugs, and stop the Poison from entering the water.
Meanwhile Kid Flash and Robin were to sneak to the back of the building, were Robin was to hack into the computer and gather as much Intel as possible. KF was on lookout duty so nobody could sneak up on the boy wonder working.
“Man, am I glad once we kicked their asses and get home! I’m in serious need of some good ol chill time! Schools been kicking my ass!” Wally said as he stretched in his chair opposite the Martian space ship. “You up for a movie night and a disgusting amount of fast food afterwards Rob? I even let you pick the film if you want.”
tearing his gaze away from the forest, Robin looked over at Wally and grinned. “Yeah sounds good, not gonna lie I`m ready for a chill night too, Gotham`s been crazy these last few weeks!”
“Nice!” Wally cheered fists pounding into the air.
“Guys, settle down now, well arrive shortly at our destination. We have to take this Mission seriously; many lives are at stake here.”

They landed the shuttle in a small clearing near the waterworks and made their way through the thick forest into the direction of the roar from the nearby river.
Once at the Waterworks they silently split up. Kid Flash and Robin headed quietly in the direction of the back of the building while the others took off to the opposite to the front of the building.
We are now reaching the entrance. KF, Robin what’s your status?
Aqua lad asked over the mind link as they were hiding near the entrance.
Were now arriving at the back, looks like there’s a window we can enter form!
Good, let’s go!
Shifting in his position Aqualad readied himself, jumped and knocked out nearest guard and Run ran with Superboy into the building while Mrs. Martian and Artemis fought the now alarmed guards.

Robin eyed the window which is he guessed about 9-10 feed in the air. “Ok how about you`ll lift me up so I can cut a hole in this thing. Think you able to jump in after me?” Robin whispered while fumbling in his belt for the glasscutter. There were just so many goddamn pockets in this thing; it was sometimes hard to keep track of them all.
“Of course, what do you take me for?”
”Well for starters someone with many bloody noses.”
“Ha Ha Ha funny…”
Wally grumbled not at all serious.
They looked around one last time to make sure the coast was clear before they sprinted to the window were Kid hefted Robin up. Who swiftly cut a hole into the window and climbed in.
Once on the ground Robin scanned the room, which was wonderfully empty, probably thanks to the commotion made outside.
Ok KF, I think the coast is clear!
Roger! Coming in now.
With that, Kid Flash took a few steps away from the wall, turned around and sprinted directly at it launched himself through the window and fell directly face first onto the floor.
“Don`t you dare…”
“Oh I would never..” Robin snickered.
As he made his way into the dark room, he saw several boxes filled with tubes along the walls.
Checking over the room, behind jet another stack of boxes he finally found the thing he was looking for. There in the corner of the room was an old looking computer rattling quietly.
“Gotcha!”
Rob cheered, as he strolled towards it, while he pulled out a cable from his glove.
“Damn that thing is old as fuck, you sure you got the right plug for that?”
Kid Flash asked as he ruffly pointed in the direction in the now softly glowing computer screen.
“Yeah should be fine, now cover my six will you?”
The boy wonder asked over his shoulder, already furiously typing away.
“Yeah, Yeah of curse”

Kaldur and Superboy entered the building.
Superboy, we need to find the poison before it gets into the water, fast!
They cleared the big entrance hall and at the end behind a big silver door and there finally were the huge water pumps they have been looking for.
The only problem, the poison was not in barrels as they hoped but rater were the pumps overgrown with huge somewhat toxic looking flowers.
“Is that giant glowing foxglove?” Kaldur asked somewhat dumbfounded.
“Yes it is! Very god eye you little beast.” Poison Ivy’s voiced raised herself above the roar of the water besides them. “Mabey I have a tat bit more respect when I feed you to my children.”
The boy’s whipped around just as several vines shot towards them.
Duking out of the way in the last possible moment Kaldur manifested his swords and cut through the next few ranks coming toward him.
Superboy on her right side, try getting a few hits in while I distract her!
Roger!
Superboy sprang over a glowing root, picked up one of the many pipes mounted to the floor, and threw it directly at Ivy, who manifested several big leaves around herself and shielded herself from the blow. Next thing he knew there were several dangerously sharp leaves were shooting towards him and pinning him to the nearest wall. Before he was able to gather himself several ranks were wrapping him up and started crushing down on him.
“ shiiii…”
“Try getting out of these, even superman can`t force his way out of these!”
Holt on a second Superboy!
Kaldur jumped on one of the roots that held Superboy down and started cutting at them while simultaneously fighting off the flower bombs Ivy was throwing his way.
The only thing he sadly didn’t foresee was that the roots he was standing on were sprouting and binding him from below.
“Good Job Ivy!”
Two Face squawked from somewhere behind them. When did he show up?
“I can take care of these two now, there are more of these pests outside if you’re up for it.”
Ivy looked flat at him and scoffed.
“Of course, typical men! Everything I gotta do for myself! Just don’t you fucking dare let them escape!”
Ivy yelled over her shoulder while she stormed outside.
“Don’t worry, I won`t”
Two face laughed darkly as he unlocked his rifle, pointing it at Kaldur head.

Artemis, Megan be careful! Ivy is coming for you and we are stuck right now.
Noticed!!
Megan yelped over the Mind link.
You mind wanna hurry up to get unstuck over there!
Artemis yelled as she was desperately trying to escape the attacking foliage around her.
“Aaah fuck!”
“Leave her alone!!!”
Megan howled as she shot the surrounding rocks towards Ivy in the hopes she would let of off Artemis, who just had twisted her ankle while attempting a double backflip.
Robin was definitely better at this kind of stuff. Mabey she should ask him if he could show her a few tricks next time they had a free afternoon at mount Justice.
“ Ah! The little Miss Martian, I was wondering when I would see you again. I have a few new creations of mine that would love to meet you!”
Ivy smiled darkly as blood red vines with pointy back thorns broke through the ground and surrounded her within seconds. Even though she tried to leap out of the way they surrounded her and in less than a minute vines were coming down and smothering her, thorns pressing into her skin.
“AH!!” Ahhh!!!
Hearing Megan’s scream in her mind and aloud set Artemis into panic mode.
Guys we could really use some help right now!!
Superboy and I are quite literally tied down!
AAH!!
Megan!!
It hurts!!

“Fuck, Robin how long do you think you still need? I think the others aren’t holding on for that much longer!”
“5 maybe 10 minutes? I think. But KF, go help the others they need it!”
Wally turned around looking at the Boy Wonder fingers twitching.
“ You sure you’re going to be alright?”
“Ill be fine! GO!!”
Even though Robin was only 13, Wally would never get over how composed and well adapted he was in the face of danger. Thinking about it made something in his chest fell kind of ..warm? Strange
Wally took one last look at the ebony haired boy, crouching in the glim of the screen light before he shook his head and speed of towards the others.

Kaldur had enough. Enough from being stuck and having to listen two face gloat about his win while Megan was screaming in agony over the mind link.
They had to get out!
Examining the room the young leader noticed a small pipeline along the wall, different from the others. That was not a water pipe, this one contained gas!
Wiggling a bit around in his restraints Aqualad formulated a plan.
Superboy be ready to duck!
“You know for all the gloating you’re doing, I fail to see what you have achieved in all of this. Have you done something too or are you just a pretty side piece?” Kaldur taunted.
“I`d better shut that fucking mouth you little punk before I shut it for you!”
two face growled, stepping closer, pointing the gun at Kaldur´s temple.
“Oh please, as if you`d be man enough to finish the job”
“That’s it you little fuck, GOOD NIGHT!”
It happened within a millisecond. Two face pulled the trigger just as Aqualad shoved himself from the root he was standing on, his head moving just enough out of the way that the bullet just scraped his face and lodged itself into the gas pipe behind them.

Wally was skidding to a halt on the muddy ground, taking in the situation in front of him.
Ivy had Megan tight up in thick creepy looking vines, shaking her about 20 feet in the air and from what Wally could make out, Megan didn’t seemed to be conscious.
On the otherside of the clearing Artemis was feverishly trying to doge the attacking ranks, but from haw torn up her uniform looked, she didn´t seemed to have been fully successful.
Fixing his googles, Kid Flash readied himself and full body tackled Ivy with enough speed that the ranks that were holding Megan and now Artemis too, startled, drooped them and retreated into the ground.
Wally tried to reach Megan but slipped in a puddle of mud and could only watch as Megan landed with a sickening crash. Yikes that had to hurt..
“How dare you!”
Ivy screeched, standing up gathering dangerously looking vines behind her. In that moment a big detonation from inside the house that had Ivy whirling around.
“Nooo!”

It was loud. Kaldur opened his eyes to plant parts falling around him and something heavy laying on top of him. Something moving.
“Aqualad are you alright?”
The heavy mass lifted off him and Kaldur gathered his shaking limps beneath him.
“Yes I am, thank you my friend”
He checked over the room, poisonous plants were definitely eliminated and two face laid passed out under a pile of sticks. Well since that has been…somewhat smoothly, but something felt wrong, something…..SHIT!
“Let`s hurry! We have to help Miss M. I don´t fell the mind link anymore!

Using the momentary distraction Artemis gathered herself and pointed an arrow directly at Ivy´s chest.
“Give up Ivy you’re done!”
Looking between Artemis and the Waterworks from which Superboy and Aqualad stormed out. Ivy hesitated but then her face turned cold and several giant dandelions shot out of the ground and promptly exploded clouding the young heroes’ vision. When the pores cleared, Ivy was long gone.

The program was harder to hack then Robin thought. Whoever sett this up for poison Ivy was definitely a pro, he´d definitely had to remember to look into who cold that have been later.
He just broke through the last firewall when he heard a big explosion from somewhere nearby.
“Well back to old habits I guess” Robin mumbled while shaking his head smirking.
Finally, the Intel started to download and Robin was anxiously watching the loading bare crawl over the screen, when he heard two separate footsteps nearing themselves rapidly. Dick wanted to hide, but the download´s weren´t finished yet. Stopping now would mean he`d have to start all over again, or loose it all if that shit was triggered to self-destruct. So what he´d finally decided to do was to duck down and hide under the desk were the computer was standing on, without interrupting the download.
“Hurry! My dandelions won´t distract them forever!”
Ivy`s voice rang out as she dragged an pissed looking two face along.
“Yeah, yeah just hold on, we gotta destroy the evidence.”
Fuck.
Robin didn`t had time to react as the both criminals rounded the corner the computer was sitting behind. Effectively blocking his only exit.
“Well what we have here?”
Two face snarled as he pulled out his gun, aiming it at the young boy.
“Oh, this is gonna fell so satisfying.”
Ripping himself from the computer, Robin jumped forward, rolled out of the nock, through their legs and bolted for the window.
“You Idiot!”
Ivy sneered as she began grapping for the teen with her vines.
“Just hold up!” Two face yelped as he aimed the gun again.
Just as Rob managed to reach the window he felt a sharp pain in his thigh combined with a ear piercing bang that shook him through the bones.
“Ahhh!!”
Letting go of the windowsill Rob collapsed into the floor bending over the bleeding leg.
“fu…..ck”
Robin tried getting his legs back under himself, and just when he somewhat succeeded there was a growled “ AW hell no!!” before thick vines grasped him so tightly that he was sure he heard a few of his ribs crack. Felling himself being thrown into a window was incredibly painful no doubt, but after that, the world slowly turned dark and numb.
Two face stepped over the surrounding shards of glass, looking down at the motionless Boy Wonder.
Usually the Boy always seemed so invincible almost eternal next to the Bat, but now lying unconscious on the ground the child looked so….young and fragile.
It looked so weird it almost made him feel uncomfortable. Almost.
“Let´s finish this and go!” Ivy waltzed forward, manifesting a dagger like thorn.
“Wait a second” Two face held out his hand, while he simultaneously flipping his entrusted coin, looking at the result.
“Let´s take him with us, leverage on the Bat is never a bad thing to have.”
