"It's a very prestigious school, but full of strange people Are you sure you want me to leave you there?"
He answers nothing to his driver, irritated at how much he talks. He thought he would be quieter, London being synonymous with depression and gray personalities. The only thing he manages to glimpse with a hint of color, are the women's dresses on the sidewalks and the displays in women's boutiques.
Otherwise, an earthy, grayish, dull shade of gray throughout. Similar to an irritating filter. To think that he chose between being here or Germany is even worse. Maybe over there there is at least a miserable smile from time to time. Not far away, finally, he glimpses the huge place where he is going to spend ninety percent of his time: the Wardbridge College of Arts and Sciences.
It is considered new. It is only a few years old, but it stands out in that its students have been more than impressive. From artists, designers and musicians to scientists. One even managed to find a cure for migraine without having to cut open his patient's head. However, as you can tell from its name, it is primarily focused on the arts unlike many of today's universities.
Where priority is given to applied sciences such as medicine, mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc.
Fifteen minutes of walking concludes in being able to get out of the car. His three-hour torment. He picks up his only suitcase and gives a snort at the gothic structure building, pretending to be hundreds of years old and not the seven or eight years it has actually been standing. Not five minutes pass when he finds groups of young adults and some not-so-young people talking in the garden.
So outlandishly that it looks like a painting in some millionaire's house. Some wearing older clothes and not the stiff, uncomfortable suits of today; women smoking and with huge books on their laps; men with long, braided hair; laughter everywhere, cheerful and suspicious animus in his opinion.
"Are you my Min Yoon-Gi?"
"Yes And you are?" he retorts bitterly. I wanted to walk in and go straight to the dean's office or whoever. A student? Appearing out of nowhere portends a lot of annoyance for him. He is a tall, large-bodied, broad-shouldered man; his Asian features very refined and well-groomed.
His thick lips curve into a small smile.
"I'm Kim Seok-Jin or Seokjin Butler" He introduces himself bringing a hand to his chest. "Nice to meet you... I was asked to keep an eye out for your arrival. To take you to the dean."
"Ah Okay?"
Yoongi furrows his eyebrows. His thick, curly hair falling part way down his face, partially covering the large cheeks and one of his small eyes. His somber attire suits the cloudy and cold weather; anyone would think he is a very wealthy upper class nobleman by the looks alone.
Jin, who knows the reality, looks at him with a certain grace and consequently, with abnormal admiration. Considering that, at first glance, he is a charming man.
. . .
"Even though you enrolled and paid yhe tuition, by tomorrow morning I need you to give me a good reason to let you stay in the music career" the dean notifies and Yoongi was about to complain. "Many boast to be in it, but few really deserve the place. I don't know the whole background of his arrival here, so I want to find out if we should accept you. In the event we don't consider it enough" takes a puff of the cigar and releases it to the right, turning back to Yoongi. "We will return all his money and propose him for a music academy not far away."
Yoongi is too offended by this information, but at the same time, it generates a proud eagerness in him to expose how good he is at playing the piano.
"For today you can stay in the bedroom without a problem. Just don't settle down too much," finally recommends. Jin to the right of the desk with a mischievous little smile and playing with a gold coin.
"How tactless you are Namjoon Anything else you want from him?" he asks teasingly and the dean rolls his eyes.
"At most, get him to wake up. Sleeping people don't have much place here."
Yoongi looks for a moment at the table with the plaque he puts down: Namjoon Wrigth Slora. "Odd name for someone who clearly comes from Korea." he comments indiscreetly and Namjoon shrugs.
"My dad had a huge attraction to Korean women."
"Umm... I can prove I can stay. Right now. I don't need practice or rest." states Yoongi getting up from his seat. Namjoon raises an eyebrow and gives Jin a look who shrugs.
"If so you say so."
Yoongi walks to the adjoining room where there is a piano and various musical instruments arranged. Yoongi sits gracefully on the piano stool, Jin leans against the door frame and Namjoon stands a meter away from the piano.
The newcomer takes a deep breath before, with slouched and lazy posture, his fingers touch the keys.
"Look at that over there... A new one."
"If he came out at this time, Namjoon kept him imprisoned for too long."
He laughs weakly and leans toward the opposite.
"Should I go ask him? I'm not good at waiting for introductions" the other rolls his eyes. "Maybe though, if you question Jin, he'll tell you anything."
"Quiet Hoseok" he orders irritably. "Don't be impertinent."
"You forget that I'm older than you and I can tease as much as I feel like Tae" he notifies pulling a lock of her hair. "Spoiled brat." shoves him and straightens up, pushes his wavy hair away from his face and determines to go ask the new guy. Taehyung for his part, a man with aristocratic and refined features watches him with boredom.
"He must be a musician. Something about him makes it obvious."
"I like musicians."
Hoseok withdraws, swaying his body in a dance-like manner as he leaves. Taehyung takes a seat and goes back to reading his book.
Jin takes a deep breath and looks around. It's fucking cold even though it's the afternoon. He hates it when it's winter. Not because of the snow, but the cold; it makes him want to stay inside all the time. Especially in Namjoon's office, that way, he'll have the excuse of someone to talk to and a warm fireplace.
In front of him a horse-drawn carriage stops. The coachman goes to take the trunks and Jin opens the door, offering his hand to whoever is inside. "I should have known he would send you to pick me up! With the approach of winter, he is unable to leave his huge cave."
Jin laughs singsong, the passenger removes his long, elegant hat adorned with feathers. He is an Asian man with a graceful, smiling face, dressing like someone from the previous century at his most charming and facetted. He thanks the coachman for lowering the luggage.
"Take it to my room, please, Woo. I have to go talk to the dean so he won't expel me."
"As you request Young Master." he replies politely before pulling out a small cart to bring the trunks up and transport them.
"I don't think he'll expel you... It would never cross his mind."
Jimin laughs and leans back from him, hugging Jin.
By pure accident, the nobleman stops, eyes widening and jaw dropping slightly. Jin observes the same thing he does and finds it quite curious. Under a tree, a huge old willow tree in front of the science faculty, is a boy sleeping. Leaning on his arm and several books open around him.
The most striking thing is how beautiful the young man is lying there. His long, wavy black hair scattered on the grass, thin, half-open lips, pronounced nose and large, well-turned, muscular body; his skimpy, rumpled, tanned clothes giving an indecent air to his posture. Jimin tightens his grip on Jin and lets out a deep breath with a smile.
"Looks like nice things came while I was gone." Jimin croaks and Jin shakes his head. Jimin is such a special case.
Just like Yoongi.
. . .
Namjoon exhales with annoyance at having to go through so many documents Why must he be so on the lookout for this? Before goes to pour himself a whole glass of wine to relax his thoughts, a small, gentle grip on his shoulders makes him look up.
"What's wrong? With that face, anyone would think you're about to murder someone."
Jimin grabs him by the cheeks and kisses him on the lips. Namjoon holds him by the neck to deepen the contact and as they pull apart, the opposite laughs. He climbs up to the desk and purposely messes up the papers.
"So many papers, so many letters and they end up being so useless" Jimin scolds with contempt, but without stopping smiling. "Without allowing you to go and receive me."
"Receiving the student who eloped for three months." Namjoon reminds Jimin, interlacing his fingers and Jimin shakes his hand, downplaying the importance.
"You know I'm your favorite student," states, bringing his right hand to his chest. "And I couldn't stay here anymore! I got so stressed out I was going to ruin anything I did. My homework came in well Didn't it?" Namjoon nods, that's true. "I follow what you teach me" fakes steps with his fingers, climbing up Namjoon's arm. "To the letter" He reaches up to his cheek. "And with that, it should be enough? Or are you going to expel me?"
"I think I'll yank my tongue out rather than expel you, Jimin" Jimin shrugs and cocks his head to one side, his long hair falling over his shoulder. "However, next time you 'stress too much', I want a direct notification. Not a letter, stuck in a German village."
"All right. All right... I saw there are new students."
"The musician?"
"I don't know if he's a musician, but I'm curious about that one. If you recognize him like that, it's because you were impressed by the name?"
"Yoongi. He's Asian."
"Jin told me a lot of Asians came," he scoffs amused. "I'll welcome them." He jumps off the desk and flirtatiously spins on his heels. Namjoon shakes his head.
"Meet them in class."
"If that's what my beloved dean asks me to do." He blows a kiss and Namjoon swipes his hand.
"If that's what my beloved dean asks me to do." He blows a kiss and Namjoon runs his hand over his face.
Between Jimin and the other new students.... It's a lot of coming chaos.
However, among those new students, mainly Yoongi and the other one, he has good candidates for his particular little club.
"So, Jimin Daft Anthos how was your trip?" asks Jin, with the opposite one attached to his arm. His small hand covered by the billowing sleeve and his fingers with several rings.
"It was lovely! I found several little towns that I stayed in for a vacation. My father wasn't pleased that my letters went from there, but he sent me the money anyway!" laughs sing-songy and unashamed. "Do you think there's any problem with me coming back? My father wrote a very long letter about how he wouldn't allow me to come back here and I should go to a university in France, but France? I can't go to France. Another revolution happens and I will die. Maybe it's prettier than here, though. That there are satanic triangles painted on the walls..."
Jin can't resist laughing. Jimin is someone too spoiled. You can tell he comes from an exaggeratedly wealthy, well-off, well-connected family and that he has contacts of his own. A free spirit who couldn't be better off at this university.
