The Lapin family is part of a long bloodline of Rabbit Miraculous holders. Before the Miraculous Order fell the Lapin family served the Miraculous Order by being the Time Guardians, watching over all the timelines while making sure no past or future enemy dare to change the course of time or dare bring harm to the Miraculouses. It was known to all that only Rabbit Miraculous holders could travel through time and this was an issue as there was no way to communicate with the Rabbit holder while they were in the Burrow, so one of the members of the Lapin family, the youngest of all the rabbits tested her strength and wit. Using the same metal that the Miraculouses were made out of she created the family heirloom. A pocket watch that was a straight copy of the Rabbit Miraculous. The Lapin bloodline heirloom, a pocket watch.
Su Han did not approve of the family heirloom until the family found out that the kwami Fluff could transform the watch if the kwami touched the pocket watch making a connection to the watch. Leaving two now-existing Rabbit Miraculouses. Su Han was enraged that the Lapin family had created a second Rabbit Miraculous and so he hid the existence of it from the Grimoire and other Guardians. The second watch was to remain a family secret hidden from the world and never to be seen or spoken of. The youngest Rabbit was the one gifted the heirloom since she made it. Alexandra Lapin learned that Fluff was now connected to both of the watches, one that was made by the great mage and the other that was made by her.
When the Miraculous Order fell to the beast known as Feast the bloodline was said to be extinct leaving the timelines unguarded. All of the Lapin family was killed by Feast leaving only one survivor. Taking the family heirloom Alexandra Lapin ran from the falling Miraculous Order leaving her as the last of the Lapin Bloodline to exist. The connection to Fluff was cut off and lost, no matter how hard Alexandra tried to transform, without the connection to Fluff the pocket watch was vulnerable, breakable, and useless. Alexandra has no idea that the Rabbit Miraculous survived the attack and is with Master Fu.
Over the years Alexandra started her own family and soon when her time was over passed down her watch from youngest to youngest. As the years passed on the great great great granddaughter of Alexandra Lapin, Eliana Lapin meets a historian named Alim Kubdel, an only child who has a passion for all things of history and old times. The two fall in love and soon start their own family. Elaina inherits the watch but it is damaged and broken from the past generations.
Eliana marries Alim and takes his last name, hiding the last name of her family. The two move to Paris and Jalil is soon born. Since Elaina is in Paris the connection with Fluff is weak but soon starts to strengthen. The watch starts to tick for the first time in thousands of years. In the pocket watch is a message from the past that reveals the hidden history of Elaina’s family. Elaina now realizes why this watch was so important to her family, not wanting her new husband to think she’s crazy she hides the watch and never looks at it again.
Alix Kubdel is soon born and the watch leaves a message from the future to Elaina. The message reveals Alix’s destiny as the next Rabbit holder and rising Time Guardian of the future, it mentions the next Miraculous Guardian and the next generation of Miraculous Holders. Elaina is surprised and thinks it's a trick, a lie, and doesn’t believe it until her daughter comes home one day hand in hand with the next Miraculous Guardian, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Elaina realizes she must complete her duty as a Rabbit descendant. She watches as Alix meets the next generation of Miraculous heroes one by one all but the black cat.
Elaina soon falls ill, cancer, unpredictable, and shockingly she finds out she doesn’t have much time to live. Elaina leaves a long letter in her will behind for her husband and her daughter. Elaina dies around the same time Alix turns 9. After Elaina’s death, Alim was heartbroken and sad but unlike another father, he healed with his children and waited a year to open the letter his wife left him.
As a year goes by Alim opens the letter and is in disbelieve about the nonsense his wife left, he takes the pocket watch and saves it for Alix’s 14th birthday. Alim never knew his wife was a Miraculous holder descendant or that he married into a Descendant Family. So he knew his Daughter was going to be a Rabbit holder but didn’t believe it until he started receiving letters from his future daughter. He learned that his daughter needed to become friends with the next Guardian, and that was the little girl that Alix hung out with named Marinette. So Marinette and Alix are very close since the Guardian and the Rabbit holder need to be close due to their important duties.
Alix’s dad knew that Marinette was going to become the next Guardian and that Alix was going to become Bunnyx along with all of their friends becoming Miraculous Holders. Though he is scared for his daughter knowing she will be in danger he has faith that his daughter and her team can handle themselves.

The pocket watch is not indestructible like the Rabbit Miraculous and over the years the watch has been broken and damaged meaning it cannot be used to transform or even send any messages until it is fixed. When Alix gets the watch for her birthday she sees a hologram of a lady holding up a watch, that is Alix’s great, great-grandmother, Alexandra Lapin.
When the watch is destroyed in the race the Miraculous Cure fixes it. The watch is now able to send messages and receive messages from the past or future. Though the watch will only chime when there is a message.

How the Pocket watch and the Rabbit Miraculous work:
There are technically two Rabbit Miraculouses one that is made form the ancient magic of the great Mage that holds the kwami of Evolution and the other a pocket watch that is connected to the Rabbit Miraculous. Both watches can be transformed but only if the main Rabbit Miraculous is active, so there can be two rabbits instead of one but it has been years since the watch has been transformed. Alix uses the Rabbit Miraculous but always keeps her pocket watch on her just in case. Fluff can only transform the watch if the kwami is near the pocket watch, touches it or makes a connection to it like using the transformation phrase.
Without Fluff the pocket watch is just a plain family heirloom.
