23rd December 2018 : Day before Shinjuku Showdown Arc
A man with white hair and vibrant blue eyes wearing a dark blue zip-up jacket with a high collar that's also fairly wide and slim-fit matching black pants and black dress boots floated over Shibuya now an empty crater as a result of the disastrous aftermath of what happened on October 31st earlier. Gojo sighed as he lowered himself to the ground. His eyes scanned the location to check for any unwanted intruders before taking out a small box containing an object that was emanating the presence of something dark and ominous. It wasn't just any cursed object - it was the 20th and final finger of Sukuna. The finger was said to hold immense power equal to the other 19 fingers, and Gojo had been keeping it locked away for years since he first found it. Now however, he needed to destroy it to prevent Sukuna from regaining his full power.
Gojo knew all too well that it held a dark power that could cause even more devastation than what happened during the Shibuya Incident. But now with the threat of Sukuna ever looming, with achieving full power through Kenjaku and Uraume's help seeming more and more likely, he knew he had to destroy it. Gojo took a moment to create a Curtain to prevent non-sorcerers or cursed spirits from looking in. His vibrant blue eyes then locked onto the cursed object with unshakeable focus once the Curtain was set up. Without hesitation, he unleashed a branch of his innate Limitless technique, Imaginary Technique: Hollow Purple which when unleashed, took both the amplified as well as reversal and smashed together the two different expressions of Infinity to create and push out an imaginary which created a space where time and gravity were warped and distorted. With a single touch, the finger was reduced to dust, and the cursed energy within it had vanished, gone with the wind unable to be detected anymore. His eyes swept over the scene as he scanned the area for any trace of it just in case before sighing with a sense of relief and satisfaction.
Despite the fact that he had destroyed the Finger, Gojo knew that Sukuna would never stop trying to regain his power. There were other ways for the former sorcerer to achieve his full strength, and Gojo would have to be constantly vigilant during the promised showdown at Shinjuku tomorrow. Nonetheless, the destruction of the 20th Finger was a significant victory for Gojo as it prevented Sukuna from reaching full power that which was contained within the remaining finger he had just destroyed.
21st April 2170 : 2 years before canon timeline
Within a dark alleyway, a man was seen opening a trash can to deposit his trash bags inside one by one. As he looked to the side to throw his last trash bag into the bin, A brownish-red coloured finger with black markings with a twisted shape similar to claw fell from the sky above into the bin landing softly among the trash bags. The man did not notice the finger as he deposited his last trash bag and closed the bin before walking out of the alleyway as he whistled.
