Chapter Text
Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash arrived first in the cafeteria; they went to their usual table to set down their stuff so they could get their food.
"Are you as excited as me?!" Pinkie asked suddenly.
"Excited about what Pinkie?" Dash asked while taking a tray from the rack.
"The school trip in two weeks, duhh" she said while copying Rainbow.
Dash looked at her with confused eyes before remembering "Oh yeah the school trip, is it in two weeks already?"
"Yes, dummy how could you forget already? They literally mentioned it last week!" Pinkie retorted quickly while giving her tray to Granny Smith so she could put her food on it.
While Rainbow Dash and Pinkie were walking back, they could see their friends already at the table waiting for each other so could get their food as well.
Rainbow Dash put her tray down and sat down, already starting to eat her food. Pinkie sat down in front of her.
While eating their food, their friends arrived and sat down at the table as well.
"Attention students, as all of you hopefully already know we are going on a school trip in two weeks during spring break. I just received all the information from the hotel, and you will all be divided into rooms of two and three. If you have already determined with whom you would like to share a room, kindly visit my office before the end of the week." Principal Celestia announced.
"Aw chucks, too bad there aren't any rooms of seven. How do y'all wanna divide the rooms?" Applejack asks the group.
"Maybe we can divide it depending on what we want to do in the evening" Twilight suggests.
"Good idea, darling. I would love to have a bit of a girls' night the first day with masks and everything" Rarity declared.
"That sounds nice" Fluttershy answers.
"Yes, it does, count me in!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"I think I just want to read that night, I'm gonna be really tired after sitting in a car for three hours," Sunset says.
"Reading sounds nice indeed, I'll stay with you if that's okay" Twilight answers her.
"Of course!"
"Looks like I'm stuck rooming with you, AJ," Dash says while winking at her.
"Well, ain't that somethin'," Applejack chuckles.
As the bell rang, signaling the end of their lunch break, the group scattered to their respective classes.
The excitement about the upcoming school trip lingered in the air.
Twilight, however, gathered her friends before they left completely. "Think we should wait until after school to visit Celestia's office together?" she proposed.
"Good idea, Twi!" Rarity chimed in, and the others nodded in agreement.
With a shared understanding, they parted ways for now.

"Come on Dash, hurry they're probably waiting for us!" Applejack said while looking at the large clock on the wall.
Their PE lesson took longer than planned, so they were running a bit behind their normal schedule.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Just give me a second to tie my laces," Rainbow answered, a bit annoyed because they were only going to be a couple of minutes late.
"Done!" she exclaimed. "Race to the office? Loser has to drive the other to school tomorrow!" Dash said, already speeding off.
"Oh, for Pete's sake!" AJ huffed as she ran after her.
The others were all waiting by Celestia's office when they saw Rainbow Dash running towards them as if she were being chased or something.
"Is that Rainbow Dash running over there?" Pinkie asked.
"I believe so, maybe another bet with Applejack," Sunset said while looking a bit confused in Rainbow's direction.
After a few more seconds, Rainbow arrived at the group.
She noticed a couple of confused looks and quickly cleared things up by saying, "Bet," while looking behind her to see Applejack almost there as well.
"Are you all ready?" Twilight asks, with her hand ready to knock on the door.
She receives a couple of affirmative responses before she firmly knocks on the door.
"Yes? Come on in." Principal Celestia declares.
They open the door and walk in together.
"I assume you girls are here for room allocation?" she asks the group.
"Why yes we are" Rarity responds. "We need two rooms of two and one of three. Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer will be sharing a room, Applejack and Rainbow Dash, and lastly me, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy."
"All right girls I'll write it down for you and make sure you get your rooms, you can all go home now," Principal Celestia said while smiling.
"Thanks!" Dash said before stepping out of the office and walking to her car with Applejack.
"Sooo, you were pretty slow back there huh, guess I don't have to drive tomorrow," says Rainbow while playfully shoving AJ in her side.
"Looks like you don't indeed, I will be at you're house at 8:15 exactly if you're not ready then I'm leaving without you I do not want to be late because of you" AJ teases while giving her a little shove back.
"Don't you worry, I'll be right on time. How are you going home today, by the way?" RD asks her.
"I was thinking about walking back, Big Mac needed the car today, so he just dropped me off this morning," Applejack answers her.
"I can drive you home if you'd like?" Applejack looks at her suspiciously but gives in anyway. "That sounds quite nice, but what's the catch."
Rainbow looks at her with fake hurt in her eyes "Why would there be a catch, I'm just offering you a drive. Just like you're offering to drive me to school the day after tomorrow too" Dash winks.
"You little- "
Applejack says while cutting herself off and quickly walking up to Dash's car to get in.
"Little what, AJ?" she asks teasingly while unlocking her car and getting in herself.
"Nuthin'" Applejack answers her.
Rainbow glared at her from the side of her eyes before driving out of the parking lot.

"Would you like to come in and have dinner with us? Big Mac cooked, and you know him, he always makes way too much," Applejack asks Dash while unbuckling her seatbelt and stepping out of the car.
"Yeah sure, thanks."
"No biggie," she says, while walking to the house with Dash following closely behind her.
"Hey, Big Mac, Dash is joining us for dinner tonight. Is that alright with you?" AJ quickly asks, although she already knows the answer.
"Eeyup," he answered shortly, as per usual.
AJ and Dash went upstairs to Applejack's room so she could put away her school bag.
"Are you looking forward to the trip AJ?" Dash asked while quietly studying her room.
"Yeah, I am, aren't you?" Applejack asked, slightly confused as to why she was bringing it up.
"Yes, I am, it's just," Dash hesitates.
"Just what, sugarcube?" Applejack asks, getting a bit concerned.
"I just, I don't know who's going to look after Tank," Rainbow admits, a hint of vulnerability in her voice.
"I can ask Apple Bloom if ya trust her of course. She loves animals, one time she even had a pet worm. We had the get rid of it though, it almost ate all our apples," Applejack laughed a bit while remembering the old memory.
"That'd be nice" Rainbow answered shortly.
AJ shoots her a concerned look "You okay RD?"
"Yes, I'm fine," she says lowly, "I was just a bit worried about him."
"I'll ask Applebloom, Tank will be fine," Applejack says, "Ready for dinner?"
"Very, I'm starving," Dash said.
Applejack said teasingly "Well, alrighty then, what are ya waiting for then."
They start walking down the stairs together when suddenly Apple Bloom bumps into Applejack.
"Perfect!" Applejack said.
"I don't understand, sis. What's perfect?" Apple Bloom asks her slightly confused.
"What do you think about having a pet turtle for a couple of days?" AJ grins, as she sees Apple Bloom's eyes instantly light up at the words 'pet' and 'turtle'.
She couldn't hide her excitement when she answered: "Oh my apples, I would love to have a pet turtle!"
"Only for a couple of days!" Dash quickly stepped into the conversation. "But thanks."
