Chapter Text

Watching the sunset on the beach was Will and Nico, enjoy the little peace they’ve gotten since the summer started. After spending all their days together in the winter, because of all the demigods back at camp Nico had classes to teach and Will had lives to save. But now they could finally relax. That was until they heard a thumping from behind belonging to Will’s brother.

“Will,” Austin said, trying still to catch his breath, “we need you.”

Will sighed, knowing he would have to cut their date short and looked at his boyfriend, “I’ll be right-,” “It’s okay, go. I’ll see you at dinner.” Nico said, cutting off his sentence. Will quickly got to his feet and ran off to help at the infirmary but not before giving the Italian a kiss on the cheek.

Nico stayed seated on the sand for a while, still warm from Will. This is peace, he thought to himself. All of the hardships was for this. After it all, he was happy and healthy, physically and mentally. His mental health was much better than it had been that same time last year. Even with going to Tartarus last fall. When coming back, Nico lost a lot of hope. Hope of the future, that it would just be filled suffering and pain. But with loads of help from Mr. D and Will, he got back on track and now he found peace.

Nico didn’t know how long he was on the beach but when he got to the pavilion for dinner, almost everyone was finishing up. He quickly got something to eat, he still wasn’t eating as much as everyone else but it was something. But to his surprise, only Kayla and Austin were at the Apollo table.

“Where’s Will?” asked Nico to his boyfriends siblings.

“He’s finishing surgery,” Kayla answered, stuffing her mouth with food.

"Is it something serious?” Nico said, growing concerned.

"Kinda but Will’s got it handled.” Austin said without letting his sister answer with her mouth full. Nico nodded, feeling good with that answer but making plans to wait for him to finish. Maybe go and help if he could. Because of all the extra time over the winter, Will had taught him some of the basics, much of which he knew from his time on his own but did incorrectly.

The three of them made a simple conversation, asking each other what they had done that day but because Nico was late, they finished eating soon and had to go to finish things before the harpies came out. With the two Apollo children went most of those in the pallivon.

Once Nico finished his plate, he thought it would better to bring Will dinner. Grabbing what was left, he made his way to the infirmary. He did think it was odd that Will had come sooner. It had have been two hours since he left and with the amount of experience the son of Apollo had, he should have been done. And the closer he got, the more worried he became. Nico could sense death.
