Work Text:

Nirei leaned closer and left an awkward kiss on the top of the sleeping Suo's head.

When did it become so difficult for him? Now It's too hard to understand. Right now, all of "this" was a small but very confusing tangle of self-doubt, delightful arrogance and despair, fragile butterflies of youth, and a very warm tingling in his chest and in his fingertips every damn time he and Suo met.

Of course, in the daily school routine, the voices of the classmates around you were louder than that strange single whisper in your own head. But when you were alone, whether it was evening workouts or just a walk to your favorite pastry shop, it gained strength and sounded clearer and louder.

Slowly, slowly, day after day, starting with words of admiration for the endless talents of Suo-san, continuing with words of gratitude for kindness and patience with a wayward student, turning into ridiculous "can I ask for this too?". "I wonder if Suo-san will refuse me?"
(All this was twisted with tight ropes every time, connected with thoughts of their own worthlessness and unworthiness of such great grace. But the temptation was too great, and the young heart was still inexperienced and did not want to limit itself).

It seems his teacher got interested and took it as their little game- who's going to give up first? What will Nirei want for the next time? Which route will be more interesting - his reaction to consent or to refusal?

The first time it was a request for a joint tea party after successfully passing the tests.

The second one - instead of frequent praise, give to him more clicks for mistakes (after all, there must be some variety in teaching methods).

For the third time, Nirei asked to show him sensei's morning meditation.

For the fourth time, skip morning routine and sleep a little longer (just the day before they were very late on patrol).

For the fifth time, it was very necessary to choose a new shirt for Suo (Nirei felt guilty about being protected again, and to be reason why Suo's clothes get damaged).

In the sixth, Nirei wanna to go to karaoke with classmates and him.

On the seventh time, Nirei asked to go out to dinner after a especially intense workout. And this time it should be something more than just tea.

The eighth request was literally on the same day - Nirei tried to force Suo to eat from his hands!~ (fortunately, this time without an audience).
For the ninth time, Nirei tearfully asked to forgive him for previous too imposing behavior.

For the tenth time, he cautiously asked if Suo could help him with math studies.

For the eleventh time, teach him to do the splits the same way.

For the twelfth time, try his bento.

On the thirteenth day, show Nirei Suo's favorite places and take a couple of photos together (such a season is going away, if you don't do it now, you must be sad).

For the fourteenth time, pat him on the head, since he did such a wonderful job with this week's enemies. The fifteenth and sixteenth are the same. On the seventeenth, instead, he was gently patted on the cheeks.

The eighteenth time was when Nirei did not want to leave Suo alone and literally asked to stay and take care of his well-being. He didn't kick out, but plans changed a little. It would be nice to escort Suo home and make sure that he went right to the bed. It is even possible to prepare a cold compress for him or take care of what is under the bandage.
But Suo insisted - it wasn't that serious, and he just needed to get away from the bright sun and into the quiet and cool place. Nirei couldn't find any arguments against it, and, frankly, he would hardly have been allowed on the threshold. But I still want to personally make sure that everything is all right with his dear teacher too much.

They found a secluded corner in the library. Not the most popular place - just what you need. The wide-open windows provided much-needed coolness. The bookshelves were high enough that the remnants of the sun's rays would not bother them. Nirei took a book with him to the hall, but the caretaker calmly let them pass, only greeted them with a glance and returned to her own business.

Suo laid his head on the desk and closed his eye. It is not often possible to see him without this ubiquitous mask of a polite smile. Would be nice to take a picture for sweet memories, but this will be the final violation of all boundaries, especially when Nirei already allowed him to observe his moments of weakness.

It seems that Suo even fell asleep.

Nirei tried to read a few pages of the book he had taken, but he couldn't concentrate on the text. His eyes kept running away to the chestnut head next to him.
The young man sighed, put down the book and continued to look straight. Head was spinning with a bunch of thoughts again. In the end, he couldn't stand the internal tension...

"If only I know about it, nothing terrible here, right?"

And what's done is done.

It turns out that you can get into the taste faster than you expect. But you can't bother him anymore, you'll ask him directly next time, okay?
Nirei sat for a while, stunned by his own arrogance.

- It seems that I really fell in love with you, Suo-san ... - the young man whispered thoughtfully and also put his head on the desk to admire his sleeping teacher from a better angle.

He was shocked when he met his gaze.

-I love you too, Nire-kun, but give me a little more time now, okay? - The young man's heart skipped a beat. But Suo's answering look was still sad - the migraine does not go away in such a short time. - Thanks for staying with me today...

He purred and quietly dozed off again, leaving Nirei to be embarrassed alone.
