After the end of s4, all the teens are hanging out, shooting the shit, sharing stories and filling Eddie in. Or maybe the kids are just exposing Steve for being a weirdo.
One way or another, Eddie learns the story of The Toddfather, and more to the point a certain quote from Steve.
"Screw Todd, Steve's her daddy now."
Or maybe Steve even says something similar in front of Eddie and Eddie takes it as a challenge.
Either Eddie calls Steve Daddy, or he makes Steve call him Daddy as a power move.

What if Eddie's there, listening to someone telling the story of the Scoops Troop adventures, and they quote Steve as calling himself Daddy and Eddie just glances over until Steve makes eye contact.
Eddie smirks at him with those dark, dark eyes, raises his eyebrows, darts out his tongue for a second and asks "Oh really?" in a low voice, clearly intrigued... posing a challenge.
And later when he's got Steve face down, pinned to the mattress by his wrists, balls deep in his clenching hole, Eddie leans over, draping himself chest-over-back, never pausing in his thrusts, and growls in Steve's ear "Who's the Daddy now, baby boy?" and Steve wails through his orgasm.
Steve's always thought of himself as straight and everything that comes with being the "man" in the relationship, so he always thought he liked how it sounded to be called Daddy, but of course he never asked anyone to explore it with him because it's 'deviant' and 'wrong' to want that sort of thing, so he kept it to his own little fantasies.
But when he starts going out with Eddie, and starts exploring how much he loves being submissive and used, and Eddie brings out the Daddy kink in the bedroom with that sweet, sweet uno reverse...
Steve loses his fucking mind.
