Winter wakes up hot. He groans and rearranges his position a little, but when he's wrapped up in Qibli's wings like this, it's kinda hard to cool down.
Qibli feels him moving around and opens one eye. "S'cold," he mumbles.
"Cold?" Winter says. "I'm burning!"
Qibli isn't quite awake enough to answer. He closes his eyes again and brushes his snout against Winter's shoulder, leaving an odd sensation of warmth behind.
Ah. The source of the heat is Qibli. And the source of Qibli's cold… is Winter.
As much as it pains him, Winter pulls away from Qibli. Qibli whines in protest, but the whine is quickly smothered when Winter throws a blanket on top of him.
Satisfied that Qibli's happy, Winter goes out to the living room and puts on a fan, and sits right next to it, letting the cool air wash over him.
"Winter?" Qibli's voice calls from the bedroom.
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
Winter smiles. It's nice to be a bit less warm, but he misses Qibli's embrace already. "I love you too, you toaster of a dragon."
