Work Text:

A full year had passed since the war against Noxius. Piltover had made great strides in repairing its city from the destruction and removing the warped hexcore extensions. The people from Zaun had been a tremendous help with the rebuilding efforts, and both cities had made great strides in becoming amicable with each other and working together. Tonight, a fundraiser was being held at the Piltover Exhibition Centre for quality of life improvements for the people of Zaun. Sturdy structures, fixed plumbing and electrics, new homes, a rehabilitation centre, a school, and ensuring everyone had good meals were the top priorities Councillor Sevika had highlighted.

“Vi, darling, are you ready to go?” Caitlyn asked, smoothing down the front of the dark dress she was wearing in front of the mirror.

This was the first formal event she and Vi were attending together. Vi had been sent off to the family’s tailors a week ago for an outfit for the evening. However, she had chosen not to show Caitlyn the picked outfit and was leaving it as a surprise, deciding to get ready in the bathroom and out of sight.

Vi’s voice calls back from behind the closed door. “Almost, just got my eyeliner to do.”

“The carriage will be here in five minutes,” she informed.

“I’ll be out before then,” Vi reassured, with a small laugh. “You’ll see it soon enough, Cupcake.”

Caitlyn chose not to answer, rolling her eye instead. She took this moment to check over her outfit. The dress was a dark navy colour, darker than her hair, that hugged her form nicely. There was a split along the side, starting from just above her knee, revealing the pointed sandals she had picked. She rarely wore heels; she was tall enough. A deep blue shawl covered her bare shoulders and arms. A silver necklace with the Kiramman crest rested on her chest, slightly above the valley of her breasts. Her hair was tied up in a bun with a few strands hanging loose to frame her face. Her usual eyepatch rested comfortably over her scarred eye.

The bathroom door opened, and Caitlyn immediately turned around to look at Vi as she emerged.

Her pink spiky hair was in its usual styled mess, and the gear tattoo at her neck was peeking out from the collar of her white shirt. The top two buttons were undone while the sleeves had been rolled up to the elbows. A black vest fitted against her form, matching the trousers. A pair of black dress shoes completed the outfit. Her makeup was immaculate, and when her piercings caught the light, they sparkled.

Caitlyn felt her pulse start to quicken under her skin, and she suddenly felt very flushed.

However, it seemed that her outfit was having a similar effect on Vi, as she stood there gaping slightly.

“We might have a problem,” croaked out Vi.

Caitlyn blinked, suddenly concerned. “Why? Are you alright?”

Vi nodded, and she swallowed. “Yeah, but I don’t think I can let you leave the house looking like that. I’m going to be fighting people off left and right.”

Caitlyn rolled her eye again, but she smiled fondly. “You don’t have anything to worry about, Violet. If anything, I’m the one who should be worried.”

Vi arched her scarred eyebrow and stepped closer. “Worried about what?”

“If the women at this event try to steal you away,” she said, as Vi stops in front of her. Her hands run up the vest, over Vi’s broad shoulders, and cross over behind her neck.

A low chuckle rumbles out of Vi as she places her hands on Caitlyn’s slim waist. “They can try, but it’ll never happen. I’m always coming home with you.”

Caitlyn gives a pleased smile before she leans in and kisses Vi. Their mouths move together, and tongues meet in the middle as the pair momentarily get lost in one another. When they pull apart, they don’t go far, lips still brushing together as they work to catch their breath back.

“How much time do we have?” Vi asked, her large hands beginning to roam lower on Caitlyn’s sides.

“Not enough…” is Caitlyn’s breathless reply.

Vi lets out a small whine from the back of her throat.

“...But the carriage can wait.”

Silver eyes widen at the darkening gaze of her girlfriend before Vi smirks and lowers herself to her knees.
