Work Text:

When the warm rays of sunlight get overshadowed by the soft silver light of the moonlight, when the big and small faeries across the Faerie kingdom drift into sweet slumber, when the sugar-coated owl birds start hooting a tender lullaby, breaking the overwhelming silence of the night, that's when His Majesty finds himself waiting patiently at the pearly gates. It has been long, too long, since the Knight in white armor has visited. If it was for Elder Faerie cookie to admit that he didn't miss his dearest friend, he would have been uttering complete lies. He hasn't figured out exactly why, even after so many moons, he kept his head high and his hopes even higher, standing at the gateway, or at least taking a small peek, just to hear those horse petals galloping at the smooth grass, just to witness a shadow in the dense fog which was protecting their kingdom from the rest of Earthebread, just to hear his voice that had his mind wandering everytime.

Elder faerie cookie sighed, his delicate wings twitching slightly at the thought of the Commander. It felt as if he was caught in a chokehold, and this wasn't something new. Ever since they shook hands, ever since they made their deal about growing the silver tree together for the better of Cookiekind, the King's feelings caught up to him. Was his biggest concern even the Silver tree anymore? Or was his biggest concern the Salt of Solidarity himself? He pinched the bridge of his nose, taking in a deep breath that could possibly calm him down, Witches what was he thinking? Their interactions were solely friendly, no, solely proffesional. Fleeting moments and small talks to pass time weren't important, so why did it matter so much to him? Has he finally gone mad?

His internal battle was interrupted, almost rudely, as the familiar galloping he longed to hear sounded like it was only miles away. He put his previous monologue aside, a crimson red highlighting his dark cheeks due to his embarassment, but he found his composure swiftly enough. His wings spread behind him, almost welcoming to the other's cookies presence, the moonlight piercing through and making the coloured hues of the cookie's wings shine in the darkness, their beauty overwhelming to anyone who wasn't used to them. Elder faerie planted a soft, yet unnoticeable smile on his lips, a rare sighting and a precious one according to the Knight's words, as he patiently sat there, waiting for his friend to settle.

Salt of Solidarity eventually found his way again, the signal of Elder faerie's shimmering wings causing him a wave of relief. Everytime he visited the Faerie kingdom, he always seemed to get lost due to the blindness of the mist surrounding the hidden land, despite he had encountered this familiar ground a fair amount of times. When was the last time he had entered these silver-decorated gates? He couldn't quite find the answer, it could have been weeks, months, or even years. The Kala Namak army has yet returned victorious from their previous battle, but it lasted more than it should have normally been. There was trouble regarding the Commandre's Knights, since many have been injured while in combat and the first aid supplies have been running low, so what followed was a big delay. Salt missed his friend, he really did, even more than he should have missed him, but his kingdom and his people always came first no matter what, that's why his Virtue was granded to him after all, his title being labeled as a sacred promise, to fight and provide for all, big and small.

Yet at the darkest of nights, when the Knight was in a state of serenity, his thoughts wrapped around the strict and deep voice of the Faerie King, luring him into slumber, while his mesmerising eyes haunted his dreams, awakening him from his sleep, heating up his cheeks everytime... and everytime he scolded himself that he let such desires even pass his mind. Salt was always a devoted follower of honesty, but this time he couldn't bare accepting something so naked and raw as his own feelings for Elder Faerie. He felt as if someone had casted a spell upon him, he never had experienced such love for someone before, let aside romantic love, everything was so strange and complicated to him, it overwhelmed him.

But this wasn't significant now, he shouldn't keep his friend waiting, it would have been impolite of him. He slowly and steadily pressed his feet against the delicate silvery grass, getting down from his trusted companion, pressing his forehead against the horse's as an affectionate goodbye, setting it to roam free for as much as it liked until he returned. Luckily for him, his horse always seemed to return to Salt no matter how far or how close it was and that just proves their strong bond. Nox opened its eyes as the Knight pulled his forehead away. The wild horse nodded, a guarantee of its return the Commandre's embrace, but for now it was let free to wander deep into the forest.

"My friend, i don't mean to interrupt your farewell, but aren't you worried of your horse fleeing?" Elder Faerie approached Salt of Solidarity, standing right besides him. Salt let out a small chuckle, his eyes still facing the direction from where Nox set off "I have done this a fair amount of times, yet my friend always returns to me" Elder Faerie might not be able to observe the Knight's expression, but he could tell from his voice that he was smiling "I thought that you would have known this Your Majesty, it deeply hurts me" Salt turned his gaze to the Faerie king, his voice adapting a tone of irony. His Majesty never enjoyed outsiders being ironic infront of his presence, let alone to him, but due to his years of knowing Salt of Solidarity, he seemed to have let an exception for his friend "Don't try to fish for my laugh with your sarcasm, or the next time i won't appear so welcoming" He scoffed, his expression dead serious, yet Salt knew that he meant no harm, he was all bark no bite "Well for someone who has an negative view on such jokes, you seem to slowly mimic my humour" The Knight took the King's hand, kneeling infront of him and placing his forehead against it, the cold metal of his helmet coming in contact with Elder Faerie's slim hands "What a bad influence you are.." He sighed, his cheeks heating up at Salt's possesion of his hand as he started to take notice of how the Commandre's forehead lingered slightly more than previous time.

Time seemed to cease around them, the gentle wind hugging the two friends as they embraced, the moon quietly watching over them like a guardian, making sure that for at least tonight, they would remain together, but good things don't last for long. Salt of Solidarity was the first one to snap out of his trance, slowly getting up on both feet again, letting go of His Majesty's hand, he was incredibly grateful for his helmet, considering his face was on fire due to the intimancy of the moment. Elder Faerie also seemed to be emarrased of himself, a silent curse escaping his soft dark lips, slowly and carefully pulling his hand away "We should get going now, we have a lot to catch upon since last time, dear." Salts heart skipped a beat, his face already heated enough under all this armour, his eyes widening as his gaze followed Elder Faerie's footsteps, did he just hear that right? "Dear..." he muttered under his breath, this petname was enough to send him to a cardiac arrest. He internally scolded himself for letting this nickname affect him so much, it's obvious that the King had no playful intents, yet it did something to his sensitive heart.

The Faerie Kingdom hasn't changed in the slightest from the previous time Salt had found himself passing through those glimmering gates. Despite it being decorated with mostly silver, an observator could easily spot a colourful variety of flowers blooming in the pathways and blossoming in the magnificent gardens. Small light-blue Butterflies surrounded their flavourful petals, drinking up the nutritiens, savouring every last drop of the delicious core. The land that was full of melodic chanting and various celebrations had fell silent, lullabied by the soft whispers of the wind and the delicate movements of the silver leaves. They stopped in their tracks outside of the glorious palace of the Fae, myths and legends had muttered its name before, yet Salt was lucky enough to stumble upon it with his own eyes "I think it's best if today we discuss our matters here, we wouldn't want to disrupt the asleep." Elder Faerie murmured, slowly and carefully pushing the massive gateways.

As their footsteps resonated through the quiet halls of the palace, Faerie guards hit their staff on the hard marble floor in unison, a way of respect towards their Majesty and the godlike visitor following behind, the harmonising sound of spears tickling Salt of Solidarity's ears. Commandre wasn't familiar with the inter of the building, since most of their meetings took place in one of the various garden scattered around the hidden Kingdom, so he was just following his friend from behind like a lost puppy, but he had to admit that the place was breathtaking. Spread across every wall was at least one stained glass window, the pallete being simliar to the one Elder Faerie had on his wings, maybe it was a symbolism of respect towards his friend. The grayish pillars were decorated with beautiful lillies, plant vines wrapping around them in a tight and warm embrace. The flowery scent had filled up his nostrils, slyly invading his lungs. It was simply extraordinary, it was like no other that Salt had witnessed "This place is just exquisite, Your Majesty. You seem to take good care of your things." he complimented, his words seeming to go through the Fae's heart "Oh enough with your fluttery!" Elder Faerie uttered out, his tone one of annoyance, but he was smitten out of all things.

His Majesty grabbed the cold handle of the door to his chambers, his fingers lingering and his mind wandering, were his chambers maybe too much of a personal space? Shall they maybe find another solution? But his people had fallen deep into their sleep, it would have been impolite of him to wake them up, nonetheless Elder Faerie pushed down the handle, the door creaking open, revealing the inside of his room. Salt's metal boots echoed as he stepped inside, taking in the image of The King's chambers. The windows were spread open, gentle air freezing up the room, mixing with the rose-scented candles lighted up. The bed was King sized, which of course didn't take Salt by surprise, but what took him by surprise was the details. It was well craved from white wood, the dedication and love put into it was visible, it was like a masterpiece. The covers of the bed seemed fuzzy and gentle, the blanket had sewed art of silver flowers as transparent white curtains hugged the bed, making it stand out.

Elder Faerie closed the door shut behind him, silence filling up the place as the scent of roses seemed to get stronger by the second. Salt of Solidarity made himself "comfortable" by taking a seat in his friend's bed, expect that his shoulders were stiff, his cheeks flaming up beneath the metal helmet. He didn't know what exactly caused this new reaction, was it the fact that he was all alone with the person he tried so hard to ignore his passion for? Was it the intense smell of roses thickening up by the second? Or was it the awkwardly peaceful silence that allowed his thoughts to speak louder than his silver tongue? "My friend." Elder Faerie's voice relaxed, his graveness wavering "You know we have known each other for far too long for you to refer to me in such a solemn way.." He turned around, his hand reaching to grab his other one, his slim fingers fidgeting with one another, an almost impossible phenomenon to witness "So why should you not call me by my name..?" Salt felt the weight of the bed shift as Elder Faerie sat next to him, an elegant palm resting on his cold pauldron "W-well...It would be rude of me not to acknowledge your honourable title.." He stuttered, not being able to hold up to Elder Faerie's gaze "Perhaps...Perhaps it would have been rude.." The crowned Fae responded "But what is more rude is to not listen to my demand.." He put up a playful smirk, of course he would have never demanded something from his most trusted mate, but a little teasing has never done bad, even to someone who is as serious as him "I understand...Elder Faerie.." The Knight whispered, his eyes landing on Elder Faerie again, yet he noticed a sudden shift of his demeanor. A crismon red decorated his sharp features, his colourful wings twiching behind his back, his eyes hooded. Salt of Solidarity calling out his name, it sure did something to him, it hypnotised him, his hand trailing from the Commandre's pauldron to his gauntlet, his thumb carressing the hard metal. Salt's face caught on fire under the almighty helmet, his fingers trembling under Elder Faerie's soothing touch, confusion was drawn in his glowing eyes.

Temptations are hard to ignore.

Especially when the one you desire is just mere inches away.

Salt of Solidarity placed a firm palm on Elder Faerie's mouth, gently widening the distance between them "Why must you gaze at me like that..?" He sighed "Have you missed my presence that much...?" Elder Faerie touched Salt's gauntlet, lowering it from his dark lips and bringing it to his sharp cheeks "..But of course, every moonlit night I awaited for your return, friend.." His eyebrows lowered, his expression relaxing "And even when I didn't, my hope still lingered at those pearly gates.." He confessed, leaving the Virtue of Solidarity stunned, some might say in awe "I-I must admit...." His silver tongue spoke, the one that always left the Fae unarmed, that always left a blooming feeling on his chest "Even I, on these lonely, melancholic nights..thought of my return here..of facing your warm welcome.." For the first time, he expressed his heart, his raw feelings of longing, towards the person he trusted the most, towards the person he loved the most, even when he denied it so "Would you embrace such raw and unnatural feelings..?" Salt's fingers worked as he tugged a strand of greyish-blue hair behind Elder Faerie's pointy ear "Why yes.." He whispered "For my feelings are as raw as yours.." His hands reached out to cup the Knight's covered face, slowly raising the helmet, until his movements stopped at their tracks "May I...?" Salt flinched at that question, he found himself dumbfounded, unable to answer properly "You may.." He uttered, and a with slow slip, his helmet was raised halfway to his nose, allowing him to take the scent of the silver room.

Elder Faerie took in the sight of his lips, a faint scar overlaping them, yet they strangely seemed soft enough. They were beautiful. He let out a shaky breath, his cheeks becoming even more heated. He then noticed his nose, it seemed sharp, it's shape one of the greek, It's beautiful purple shade blending with his skin "Witches above....you are mesmerising.." Elder Faerie drew closer, his fingertips feeling the soft texture of his face, mixed with the hard texture of his battle scars "You say such things like that when you haven't even seen my whole face.." Salt's lips moved, revealing his sharp white teeth, his honey-coated voice sounding clearer than ever "I don't require to see your whole appearance to acknowledge your beauty.." Faerie stated, the distance becoming thinner and thinner.

Temptations are known for their constant nagging.

Even the most pure can't ignore them.

"You are truly breathtaking, my dear.." The distance kept closing, their patience running thin.

Witches forgive them.

For they were about to sin.

Salt of Solidarity was the one to crash his lips to his beloved, taking in the sweet flavour. The moonlight seemed to shine through the two lovers as they kissed, the scent of roses has gone too strong to ignore, almost intoxicating. Both of them softly whimpered, mumbling sweet nothings to each other, their desparation growing with each passing second. Elder Faerie deepened the kiss, their tongues met in a tantalizing dance, tasting one another's saliva as his hands memorised every curve of his armoured body. His body pressed against the other's armour, his chest brushing over Salt's cuirass, where his souljam was located. Salt's mind started to fog, his head lowering with shame, breaking the kiss, as a sudden shiver was sent down his spine. Faerie could feel Salt's cheeks warming up while he cupped his face, his souljam started to tremble, the light of the jam lustered between them "P-please forgive about that.." Salt cursed under his breath, trying to find his composure again "My souljam can appear sensitive at times..." He said, when suddenly he felt a slim finger pressing softly against it, rubbing slow and steady circles "No need to apologise, my friend.." Elder Faerie's voice barely reached Salt's ears, his thoughts going blank as his friend's thumb worked to his most vurnerable spot "Your Majesty...!" The Virue moaned, his gauntlet reaching out to hold the other's wrist, guiding his movements "Please..say my real name.." Elder whispered, his thumb pressing slightly harder, feeling the gooey sensation of the jam bubbling. Salt couldn't form a sentence, his gauntlet pulling away from Elder Faerie's wrist and joined in rubbing his souljam "Witches...." He called out his godly creators, he wondered if they were witnessing the scene unfolding, he wondered if their faces were twisted with disappointment towards him, he who was using his souljam, a sacred gem, the one that symbolised his solidarity, for pleasure.

He could almost see their judgemental gaze as his eyes rolled back, the pleasure becoming too much to bare. He could feel their ancient forks pointing directly at him as he sat there, using what was a symbol as a toy "Elder Faerie...!" he moaned the name of the King, his King "I-I don't want this to end like this.." He hid his face in Elder Faerie's neck, his teeth brushing over the delicate flesh, making the crowned Fae let out a silent groan "Then it shall not end.." He sighed as he slowed down the circling motions, but never quite stopping, he secretly longed to see how far his now lover could hold on, oh how dirty his thoughts were..  He continued rubbing, his wings twitching at the sight of Salt helpless, but it wasn't enough, he wanted to see everything, he wanted to see his pretty eyes rolling back, he wanted to see tears of pleasure forming in their cornerns, the sight of his parted lips already made him lose his mind, imagine if he had the opportunity to see his whole expression "Faerie please..! I can't hold on much longer..!" His internal fantasies were interuppted by a now overstimulated Salt, and his thumb stopped its movements almost immediately "I'm deeply sorry my friend..I got carried away" He fully pulled his hand away, letting it rest now on the Commandre's cheek again, feeling the wet texture of the sweat coating his skin, his salty sweat. Elder Faerie licked his dried lips, his pupils dilated as he noticed the salty flavoured flesh. He took in a sharp breath, trying to calm his urges down, he needed to remember that Salt was a fellow being, not a source that was meant to be drank, but he was too far gone to hold himself back. He gently placed his face close to Salt of Solidarity's cheek, his lips landing to taste the salt, it felt divine, his tognue flicking just to catch an extra glimse, devouring him entirely, but when he realised what he was doing, he backed away, his face becoming red like a beet. "I-I.." He stuttered, he truly couldn't find the right words. Should he apologise for his bold move? Should he explain his arousal to Salt? Should he stay still?

He was humiliated, he was embarassed, he had let his urges win against his friend, he was ashamed "My friend...- agh..!" He let out a gasp as he was suddenly placed to sit on Salt's cuisse, feeling his risen groin press against the hard metal. Salt's breaths were heavy, his cheeks a deep shade of red from the bold move of Elder Faerie, his gauntlets reached out to hold the Fae's hips, carefully starting to roll them back and forth "Please..do tell me when to stop.." Salt purred, his thumbs carresing his hips. Elder Faerie whined, enjoying the sensation of the metal against his bare spot under his robe "Mmhmm..." He murmured, gripping tighly the Virtue's pauldrons as he rode, his wings now fully spread, fluttering behind him "O-oh Salt....." His movements quickened the more he chased down his ecstacy, but Salt slowed down Elder Faerie from reaching his climax "Let's take this slowly..no rushing.." The Knight reassured him, his hands now creeping up on the other's waist "Take your time, my sweet.." He told him, holding him in a warm embrace while Faerie was lost in his overstimulation. Everything seemed blurry as his hips rode the cold, harsh metal that pressed against his hardened dick, the scent of roses filled up his nostrils, overwhelming his senses as his eyes shut closed "O-oh witches above..! Oh Salt..!" Elder Faerie moaned again, throwing his head back, opening his previously shut eyes to gaze at the ceiling, fantasising about rolling his hips on something sweeter, something saltier "Salt please..! I-I need..!" he was suddenly shushed by a gentle kiss, their lips interlocking once more, drinking the passion "I know..." Salt held his lover's face "I know what you desire..but i promise you taking things slow is for the best.." He kissed him once more, their tognues interwining as Elder Faerie whined, their eyes gazing at each other's hot expressions. With a final roll of his hips, the King eventually reached his ecstacy, his senses going blank, his relief shamelessly splattered on the cuisse.

Panting, Elder Faerie's forehead landed on Salt's pauldron, trying to recover from the overwhelming state he was in "You did..amazing.." the Commandre whispered in the Fae's pointy ear, kissing it softly "You were wonderful..absoulutely breath-taking.." He softly spoke, taking off his gauntlets and setting them to the bed. He procceded to grab the face of the man he loved, feeling the smooth fabric of his cheeks for the first time "And you..you were incredible..you are incredible.." Elder Faerie pressed their foreheads together, slowly nuzzling them as they fell back on the soft matress. Salt gasped as his head felt the impact of the fall on the soft pillow underneath, his arms instictively wrapped around Faerie's neck, his hands caressing the other's spine, making Elder Faerie let out a hum of contentment "I have....yearned so much for this..." Salt admitted, his fingers stopping in their tracks to go and tangle themselves in the silver-blue locks "I have yearned so much for...you" Elder Faerie added, raising his head from the Knight's pauldron, his gracious hair falling over them like a shield as he trapped Salt of Solidarity between his arms "And i know that..by the moment the sun rises.."

"I'll yearn for you again"

Notes:

While writing this I figured out that butterflies are attracted to salt because salt provides them nutrients and that's what makes them drawn to it, but that's for another fanfic....*Insert devious emoji here*

Anyways eat up fellow freaks

Constructive critism and Kudos are always appreciated
