It was another day at the Baxter building, Sue was helping Reed in the lab while Ben and Johnny were bickering, well until sue came into the living room to yell at them. Eventually things settled down with Sue, Johnny, and ben sitting on the couch watching tv then after finishing up in the lab reed joined them as well. Everything had been going normal until Johnny got a call, it wasn’t unusual for a guy like Johnny to get calls but the way he reacted was not normal. He got extremely hyper and started blushing like crazy which caused the others to look at each other with confused faces. Johnny eventually noticed and walked out of the room continuing his conversation and the three were left in shock.
Ben eventually broke the silence “Okay, I know I’m not the only one who peeped that”
“No, you’re not, I also noticed that” Reed said his face looked the same as when he was working in the lab.
Sue stood up and before walking out turned to look at the two and said “Well I’m not going to sit around, let’s go see what its about. Its not like we have anything to do right now”
The three walked upstairs to spy on Johnny’s conversation on the phone and what they heard was shocking. Johnny was giggling, and no not the rich “Ima steal your bitch” giggle, it was like a teenage girl talking to their crush kind of giggle. Johnnys had his one-night stands and occasional girlfriends that typically lasted for a week, but this was different.
The group went quiet to listen in on the conversation Reed stretched his head, Sue floated to the top, and Ben was just standing there.
“Haha, no way. Are we still good to meet up at your place? Okay, I’ll start getting ready and yes, I’ll remember to pack clothes. Yeah bye, love you.” He laughed one more time and hung up and got up to start packing.
After Johnny got up from his bed the other three quickly ran to the living room out of breath but trying to look as casual as possible
Trying to discreetly whisper to the others ben says in a low voice “I know I may be a big rock but I know what I heard”
"Don’t worry, Ben. We heard it too." Reed responds quietly pretending to busy himself with a newspaper about the four stopping Doom for the seventy fifth time (They’ve genuinely lost count)
“I just seriously can’t believe johnny wouldn’t-“ Just as Sue is about to finish her sentence the man himself finally walks in looking like his normal self and not the one they saw a few minutes ago.
“You can’t believe I wouldn’t what” Johnny says curiously while plopping himself on the couch between Sue and Reed.
“Did I say johnny? I mean Donnie our downstairs neighbor!” Sue says rather quickly and awkwardly laughs eventually Ben and Reed also awkwardly laugh
Okay this was starting to get weird and even Johnny was starting to notice it which was a big problem just as he’s about to question the odd behaviors Herbie cuts him off
“Did you guys finally find out who Johnnys secret phone friend is” Herbie eagerly chirps
The three mentally face palm themselves. For a robot made by one of the most intelligent men in the universe Herbie had a lot of things he needed to work on number one being social cues.
A obnoxious knowing grin quickly covers Johnnys face “Oooh that’s why you guys were so awkward. Jeez you guys are so weird you could’ve just asked. I was on the phone with my uhh” johnnys voice turns to a whisper and his face becomes a bright red “boyfriend, speaking of I just came to pass by quick to say bye so I’m heading out now byee!” Johnny practically flys out of the room to the garage.
“JOHNNY HAS A WHAT?!” The three screamed in unison
Reed, Ben, and Sue’s jaws were on the floor (Reed’s jaw was literally stretched out on the floor) they all rushed to the garage, and they were saying a whole bunch of things like “I knew it” and “told you so”. But by the time they made it to the garage all that was left was the tire marks that reed was going to have to fix from Johnnys obnoxious sports car.
But that wasn’t the main concern, they all just had to figure out who was dating the baby of the group and how they managed to turn johnny into this hopeless romantic. Love spells maybe, sirens? No, it was somebody right under their noses.
Johnnys on the road blasting 80’s music and occasionally smiling at a group of girls or a camera pointed his way when he suddenly gets a call from “Petey” he eagerly answers it
“Hey, what’s up cutie?” Johnny says smoothly while throwing on one of his “Fiery” smiles as if peter could see him
You can hear a scoff from the other side and Johnny assumes peter also rolls his eyes “Cool it hotshot, just called to check in your still on the way right?” Peter (formally known as spiderman) says trying to sound bored but Johnny could hear him slightly smiling
“Yeah I’m like five minutes away, but oh gosh the funniest thing happened when I was about to leave “Johnny says fighting back a laugh while lowering his music
Johnny can hear peter shift around, and he has learned that this means peter is curious or interested in what he says to say “oh yeah what happened?”
“Well, I went downstairs to tell everyone I was leaving when all of a sudden the room went quiet and then Herbie interrupts and accidently exposes that Sue, Reed, and ben were spying on our conversation” Johnny burst out laughing unable to restrain his laughter anymore and he can hear peter cracking up in the background.
Peter finally gets himself together and between pants ask johnny “no way and what did you say?”
Johnny goes silent for a second “Well I kind of just told them I was on the phone with my boyfriend and then walked out “
Before peter can respond his doorbell is being rang, he hurries to go open it and sees a flustered johnny with a tiny duffel bag. Peter grabs Johnny by his hands intertwining their fingers making him drop his duffle bag, Johnny finally looks up and sees Peter with his glasses on crooked, his messy hair, and the cutest biggest smile he has ever seen.
“You finally told them about us!” Peter excitedly brought johnny into a warm embrace.
Peter knows that Johnny didn’t keep their relationship a secret because of anything malicious, He understood some people weren’t fortunate to be raised by people like aunt may who was always very accepting of everyone and everything. Johnnys father had been the basic baseball rough “boys are blue” type of dad and he very openly expressed his dislike for homosexuals. After his parent’s died Johnny was then raised by Sue and you can also technically count Reed and Ben, although they are very accepting the trauma still stuck with johnny and it made him afraid of what people would feel or do to him if they discovered that johnny was attracted to guys. So yeah, this was a big deal to peter, it made him feel like they’re relationship was even more serious than it already was.
Johnny accepted the hug but they eventually had to separate because johnny was so happy he ended up heating up without noticing and almost burned peter. After that little moment they hung around, made corny jokes, and whatever else teenage boys do. Then it was finally turning dark and it was time for them to get more comfortable, Peter showered first and came out the shower with his hair drenched smelling like cherries and wearing a pair of black sweatpants with a red shirt that fit peter perfectly being just the right amount of tight and loose with matching red socks. He grabbed a spare towel that had basically become Johnny’s towel at this point and handed it to him and just when he was about to sit down on the coach
“Uhm Pete I think I forgot pajamas again” Johnny said softly with a apologetic face
He was ready to be met with peters nagging but instead was brought a pair of long spiderman pants and a white shirt
“Come on hurry I want to lay down in the bed” Peter said after finally plopping himself on the couch and scrolling through the channels
Johnny hurried to the shower and took a shower that was long enough to make sure he was satisfied and make sure peter didn’t complain about the water bill being to high again. He hung his towel on the hook behind the bathroom door and put his clothes in the laundry bag. Peter was still on the couch hair still soaked and right when he was about to get up johnny smacked him in the face with a pillow.
“Hey! What was that for “Peter said before lazily throwing the pillow back which johnny of course dodged easily.
Johnny now was standing in front of peter with his hands on his hips, the pajamas that were just a bit too big on him and his bangs tied up with a elastic. Peter couldn’t help but snort at the scene, Johnny looked so cute.
“Not sure what you’re laughing about, is not listening to your boyfriend funny? “Johnny said in annoyed tone
Before peter could question what was going on he was already sitting on the floor in front of the couch with johnny sitting on the couch so peter was between his legs, then suddenly, he was caught off guard with a blow dryer aimed to his face. Peter whipped his head to look back at johnny
“Whoops. Forgot your blow dryer turns on like that”. Johnny giggled before fixing peters head to look forward
Eventually Johnny learned how to use the blow dryer and there was a comfortable silence between the two while Johnny’s warm hands moved through peters hair trying to see which spots were still wet. The room felt so warm and comfortable Peter wouldn’t mind doing this after every shower, then caught up in the moment he planted a kiss on johnnys leg. He didn’t think Johnny would even feel it through the thick pajamas pants but the way his leg twitched and his movements became messy for a second, Peter realized he definitely felt that.
After finally drying peters hair which took a lot longer because of how thick it was (definitely not because they got distracted doing something else) The couple turned off all the lights and made their way to Peters bedroom, it was simple there was a bed, wardrobe, tv hung up on wall , desk, and a few things on the wall. But to johnny it felt so comforting, and he had his best sleeps whenever in peters room.
They both crawled into the bed Peter pulled the big fuzzy blanket over the two of them, turned of the lamp and was about to close his eyes
“You don’t want to cuddle today” Johnny said pouting, and he actually looked sad
Peter stared at Johnny blankly for a second before slightly smirking “Are you seriously pouting because I didn’t initiate cuddling?”
“Well, you didn’t have to say it like that!” Johnny snapped and yanked one of peters pillows from under his bed and put it between the two separating them.
Peter smiled and threw the pillow before wrapping his arms around johnny from behind. He kissed Johnny’s nape (which always made johnny react by turning bright red) Just as johnny was about to turn around and say something Peter beat him to it.
“
I love you Johnny” Peter said before closing his eyes and falling asleep almost right away
Johnny just smiled and whispered “I love you to” before falling asleep as well.
