Rekrap is about halfway home when he finally calls her out, “Jumper, I know you’ve been following me,”
The girl takes a few steps out from the trees she had been sneaking along, Rek isn’t mad, and his eyes soften when he sees her, “You should turn around, were getting too far from Lifesteal,” she runs closer towards him, and eventually shes right behind him.
”Its’ just, are you really leaving?”
He smiles, “Jumper I’ve already had my time here, but it was nice to see everybody again.. even under such world-ending circumstances.”
Jumper didn’t know Rek very well, and he could say the same about her. Jumper knew of him though, of course she did. He was a legend, a hero, someone whose name could send tingles down any Lifestealers’ spine. But he wasn’t nearly as intimidating as Jumper thought he would be, he always had a smile, just like the one he had right now. Just like the one she used to have before... before Lifesteal finally caught up to her.
”I’m being honest Jumper, don’t you have teammates to get back to?”
He was right, she knew that. Minute was waiting for her, but the Void War had just ended, and Jumper could already feel Zam and Mapic’s presence, hunting her down. Maybe it was paranoia but she knew that it was only a matter of time before they took revenge.
”I guess you’re right, bye Rek.” She tries to smile before she turns around and starts to run back.
She can hear Rekrap shout his final goodbye, ”Good luck Jumper!”
Maybe they’ll see each other again.
