“So, who wants to bet on how Atsushi will react to seeing Dazai after all this time?" Yosano asked the other ADA members when she noticed Atsushi wasn't paying any attention to what was going on around him. It was clear to her that he was thinking about Dazai, who was supposed to be here shortly. "I personally think he's going to launch himself at Dazai the moment he sees him."
"I think he'll start crying from relief seeing that Dazai-san is okay, and then he'll hug him," Naomi suggested. She knew Atsushi had spoken to Dazai on the phone, but that wasn't the same as seeing that he was okay in person.
Tanizaki thought for a moment before saying, "My guess is that Atsushi-san will be too speechless to talk and Dazai-san will ruffle his hair, causing him to hug him." Tanizaki honestly doesn't see Atsushi letting go of Dazai for a long time when he finally sees him again.
"Don't you lot have reports you should be working on?" Kunikida inquired with a sigh. With the amount of paperwork they had to complete, he didn't see them taking on any cases any time soon.
"Don't be boring, Kunikida. You could win a day off work," Yosano announced cheerfully. After everything, they deserved to have some fun.
"Yosano-sensei, you can't authorise that," Kunikida argued. They couldn't afford to give someone a day off with all that needed to be done.
"I see nothing wrong with it," Fukuzawa explained when he overheard their conversation.
Kunikida sighed. "Fine. Atsushi won't act any differently and will say 'Welcome back, Dazai-san'."
"You're no fun," Yosano said as she rolled her eyes. Did the blond seriously not know Atsushi was in love with Dazai?
Ranpo was about to chime in on how the reunion would go down when Yosano glared at him.
"You're not allowed to take part." Yosano refused to let him take part in any more bets because he always ended up winning.
Ranpo shrugged. He didn't even need to use my ability to see how the reunion was going to go.
"What do you think, Kyouka?" Yosano asked.
"I think Atsushi-san will be too overwhelmed to act, which will lead him to pass out." Kyouka knew the lack of sleep was getting to Atsushi, and he wouldn't properly rest until he saw Dazai was alright with his own eyes.
"Kenji?"
Kenji didn't get to answer when a familiar voice yelled, "Atsushi-kun!" And then the door of the agency was kicked down.
"Dazai-san!" Atsushi exclaimed as he stood up.
Dazai then threw himself at Atsushi and wasted no time pulling him in for a kiss.
Everyone stared at the two. Not one of them expected that to happen. Well, except for Ranpo. He knew that Dazai wouldn't be able to contain himself when he saw Atsushi.
"Can I get the day off since I knew that was going to happen?" Ranpo inquired smugly.
Yosano narrowed her eyes at him and said, "You knew they were dating." She felt betrayed that Ranpo never informed her.
"I'm the reason they got together in the first place." Ranpo couldn't stand watching their oblivious flirting and ended up locking them in a storage room until they finally confessed. What had surprised Ranpo was that they kept their relationship a secret. The more he watched them, the more he realised they enjoyed sneaking around.
Fukuzawa interrupted the couple by calling their names, "Atsushi, Dazai."
Atsushi jumped away from Dazai, clearly embarrassed, and bowed, "Sorry, Fukuzawa-san." He was fully aware that it wasn't appropriate behaviour for the office.
"I'm not," Dazai admitted as he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend. There hadn't been a day that he hadn't thought about Atsushi since they had been separated, so he wasn't going to let anyone ruin their reunion.
Fukuzawa chuckled, "You both can have the day off."
"Really?" Dazai hadn't expected for him and Atsushi to be given the day off. He was sure Fukuzawa was going to reprimand him for kissing Atsushi in the middle of the office.
"Thank you, Fukuzawa-san," Atsushi beamed.
"Seems only right since no one won the bet."
Atsushi's eyes widened from shock. "W-what bet?" He stammered. They couldn't have been betting on him and Dazai?
Yosano laughed awkwardly. "We'd better get started on those reports before Kunikida has a breakdown," She said as he hurried over to her desk.
"Finally," Kunikida muttered under his breath. He had been the only one who had been doing any work all day.
Everyone else returned to their desks, ignoring Atsushi's question.
"Let's go, Atsushi-kun, before the president changes his mind," Dazai said as he started to drag Atsushi out of the room. He didn't care that they had a bet on him and Atsushi. They got a day off, so who was he to complain? And maybe he could convince Atsushi to skip work tomorrow.
