Chapter Text
Day 25: Amends:
“The Ministry's trying to make amends for the Marriage Act,” said Shacklebolt. “Now, I understand it was a bit … unconventional…”
But Harry was no longer listening. He’d already gotten distracted by Hermione, his wife.
No, he thought to himself. The ministry didn’t need to make any amends at all.
Day 26: Vows
“I vow…” said Harry as he looked into Hermione’s eyes.
She blushed as he spoke, the words coming from the depths of his soul. Perhaps it was just a legal obligation they were trying to fulfill with this marriage, but standing there with her, it felt like a lot more.
Day 27: Partnership
Harry scowled as Snape reassigned seats. Now, Hermione was sitting away from him, next to Draco Malfoy of all people. He turned to look at her then glared at Malfoy.
Harry knew it wasn’t that serious, that it was just one class. But he loved having Hermione as a partner.
Day 28: Declaration
“You’re my best friend,” Harry whispered. “I think I love you.”
Hermione lowered her book, her eyes wide before she smiled.
“You think?” She teased.
“No,” he shook his head. “I know I love you. I’ve just been afraid to admit it. I didn’t want to ruin what we have.”
Day 29: Toast
“From friendship to forever,” teased Ginny. “Ah yes, the classic tale.”
“I’ll cheers to that,” grinned Neville.
Harry raised his glass in a toast. Hermione joined him, the ring that he had slid on her finger earlier that afternoon sparkling under the bright moonlight.
“To Harry and Hermione!” someone said.
Day 30: Celebration
“Let’s go for a walk,” Harry held out his hand.
Hermione accepted, following him into the garden after tossing a quick glance at everyone behind them.
“Should we be leaving our own engagement party?” She whispered.
“They won’t even notice,” Harry promised. “Now come on, let me steal you away!”
Day 31: Fateful Encounter
On a random Tuesday afternoon, Harry began reminiscing over their youth.
“You know, I don’t think it was Hogwarts that really brought us together,”
“Oh?” inquired Hermione.
“I think it was fate,” he said, knowing Hermione didn’t believe in such things. “Maybe every moment we’ve had together has been fate.”
