Work Text:
He was sitting down with Mina, Tsuyu, Ochaco, Momo and ears. Not because this was a damn sleepover party in which they gossiped and painted each others nails, but because they had a fucking project to do.
But of course, the talking was definitely one that belonged to a goddam sleepover. The girls were doing their parts, obviously, because Katsuki doesn't choose lazy partners, but he could hear them giggling and chat about whatever they were talking as a background to his train of thought, he wasn't interested at all.
But soon he was since he was forced to participate.
Apparently the girls were calling him out for some time, but he just noticed when mina poked him with her long ass colored nails.
"C'mon Baku, don't be shy and answer", she said stifling giggles.
"Answer fucking what"
"We were talking about how our boyfriends are so odd sometimes, you gotta have something on Shouto", Ochako replied instead of pinky.
Boyfriends. Fuck him. It wasn't long since everyone knew that he and Shouto were dating, but he knew that since the cat got out of the bag the girls would swallow him up wanting to know about their business. It took damn long to be honest.
"It's none of your business"
"C'mon Bakugou-san, everyone is contributing. We're group partners, remember?" This time, Momo was the one to say. Who would've thought that even she was the gossipy type.
So, he rolled his eyes and started considering what tiny little bit of Shouto he was cogitating to share. Not that he needed, but breasts had a point. They were partners, even if for the college project and not exactly for the gossip, Katsuki still owed them for always being updated about the extras, as irrelevant as it was.
Therefore, he thought.
Shouto was an odd person, that ain't a secret at all and for no one.
But as a boyfriend, he surely had odd aspects. In everything to be honest.
Like the awareness part, for example.
Back to before they "actually" started dating, Bakugou was with Shouto sitting at his house sofa watching a silly movie. Katsuki's parents weren't there since they left for their own date after having lunch with them to get to know "the one occupying his precious brat mind".
The dual haired boy was pressed against his body sharing his stupid heat and making everything cozier. Mid movie though, just as the couple was sharing kisses, Shouto turned to him and started staring him with those goddam beautiful eyes.
Of course, Katsuki tried his best to avoid it. He found it funny, sue him. But then, he looked and he was so happy at the moment to have the fucker as his boyfriend, so he leaned in and kissed the bastard.
Nothing too elaborate, a chaste kiss. Maybe it stopped being so chaste when Shouto held his face and pulled him almost over him, but nothing more.
Breathing heavily, Shouto coughed and looked around a bit disoriented. Katsuki couldn't help but huff looking at the blushing mess in front of him. But then, the gorgeous boy opened his mouth and asked the most unbelievable question.
"Bakugou, I think we should date. Would you be my boyfriend?"
What.
The.
Hell.
He didn't just think of it but also said it out loud.
"What the hell, Shouto?" Shouto just looked at him puzzled and unaware of the absurdity he just said.
"Do you... Not want to be my boyfriend" he had the audacity to ask him looking almost like he could cry right there.
"Of I'd want to if I wasn't already your boyfriend, the Fuck?" He answered and all Shouto did was furrow his eyebrows as if Katsuki was out of his damn mind.
"But you're not my boyfriend yet".
Katsuki rolled his eyes.
He put his hands on his boyfriend's arms and held him firmly and stared directly into his eyes, just to make sure he was going to listen to every word he had to say.
"We've been going out since two months ago, without counting all the times I cooked for you and we made out later. We are in my parents' house watching a cheesy movie just because you said you never watched it after they made LUNCH to get to know you. How come you're not my fucking boyfriend???"
He could see the engines working on his boyfriend's (?) head before he finally said "oh".
" Yeah, fucking oh".
"But you never asked me to be your boyfriend" Shouto insisted.
Katsuki dragged his own hands on his face while looking to the ceiling and counting to 10 so he didn't blow up his boyfriend right there.
" I asked if you wanted to go out months ago" he tried.
" Yeah, but hanging out with you doesn't make me your boyfriend."
" What the Fuck was I to you then?"
" My...friend?" Shouto answered now uncertainly.
Friend. F-R-I-E-N-D. Shouto thought of him as a friend. After that night, Katsuki had to check with Yayozuru, Iida and even Izuku if they weren't also getting gifts, kissing or going out with his boyfriend.
But also, he had finally a boyfriend. Because now it was verbally stated and agreed between them. That's why they have two anniversary dates but just one that's official accordingly to Shouto.
He could tell the girls that the odd thing about his boyfriend was that he needed to be told everything and not assume he knew it because it was implied. But that was an amusing part he didn't really want to share.
But close to the time they started dating, Katsuki noticed another odd thing about his boyfriend. And it was his date planning.
After the fiasco they went through of Shouto not knowing they weren't dating because Katsuki never really asked him to be his boyfriend. Shouto told him he was going to show him how to have a perfect first date.
Katsuki let him amuse him. Because the real perfect first date already had happened and it was when Katsuki took Shouto to fucking Japan Disneyland and had soba afterwards. But it didn't count because they were just "going out" literally and not as boyfriends.
So be it.
Shouto planned their date and he even made an itinerary with exact times.
They would meet at a cat Cafe at one pm sharp, which Katsuki got there twenty minutes earlier, and then go to a pottery class to make mugs for each other and lastly they would watch a rock concert at night.
Katsuki gave Shouto points for the date planning, but the odd thing was that they had to follow his itinerary religiously.
At the cafe, Katsuki hadn't even finished his cat shaped dessert and Shouto was already paying and putting on his jacket so they could leave on time.
"Can't you really wait? It's going to be just some minutes past the time you predicted" He said between bites, trying to finish it rapidly.
"Don't worry if you can't finish it now, I asked for the lady to pack it for us so you can take it home". Shouto said as he finished putting his wallet on his pocket.
And just like he said, a lady appeared out of nowhere with a soft excuse me, sir coming out her lips and packing his dessert.
Shouto looked at his watch and then back at Katsuki and smiled to the lady thanking her. Then, he took Katsuki by his arm and dragged him to the next activity of their date.
Arriving at the pottery place, they had to go through a waiting line. Shouto wasn't happy at all and would bounce his feet while waiting.
" Why do they have a stipulated time if we have to wait" he muttered lowly checking their entries over and over again".
" Hey, sho" Katsuki said taking his boyfriend hands and making some circles on it. " It's just a little wait, it's going to be fine".
Usually, the papers were inverted. It was always Shouto trying to keep Katsuki at Bay. But sometimes, moments like this happened.
" It's not though", Shouto clicked his tongue and finally faced the blonde. " It's already been ten minutes and we need at least forty minutes to make ours and we still have to get ice cream and arrive to the concert on time".
"What if we skip ice cream?" He offered.
Shouto looked at him as if he had said the most stupid thing ever.
" Of course not! The ice cream is important" he huffed before a man called them over and said they were sorry for the wait. Shouto just nodded impatiently and guided Katsuki to the pottery room.
Their mugs were pretty good to be honest. Of course it was the expected since Katsuki excelled in everything including making a mug for the first time ever with his boyfriend cellphone timer hurrying him up. The mugs would be ready in a few days for collecting.
As they waited for the car that would take them to their next adventure, Katsuki looked at Shouto. He seemed calmer than before, just a little tense now. And really really kissable.
Before Katsuki was able to kiss him though, Shouto pulled him ahead the street and waved to the car. Hurrying them in so they weren't late.
Unfortunately, when they got out of the car, Shouto's world shattered.
The ice cream shop was closed.
Shouto clenched Katsuki's hand before letting it go and started pacing.
"Shit" he muttered while holding his head and pacing from one side to another.
"Hey, hey" Katsuki whispered to shouto going to his direction.
Shouto stopped pacing and looked at him and apologizing.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he repeated and Katsuki couldn't help but hug him right there.
Katsuki didn't really understand why his boyfriend was so over the edge like this but he tried to help.
"We can go to another shop" he said squeezing shouto tightly in his arms.
Shouto nodded his head no and looked at Katsuki. "It has to be this one, otherwise it won't do".
"Why not?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows. It wasn't like that was the only ice cream shop in the city or neighborhood.
"Because it has to be this one, kats", Shouto repeated as if now it made sense. His eyes were starting to get watery and red.
" Look, Sho, we can really go anywhere else I won't mind."
"But then it won't be as planned", Shouto's voice cracked a bit, "it won't be perfect".
And then, Katsuki understood it. His boyfriend was a very methodical person, that he was aware. But he didn't consider that even when it came to dates everything should go as planned otherwise he wouldn't be satisfied. He knew Katsuki was like this, he saw the boy get upset countless times when things didn't go as planned.
Usually, katsuki would wrap shouto with his arms and cuddle him until they were both asleep. But now, it would be a bit difficult.
"Shou, we don't need to do everything like it's in your itinerary for the date to be fucking perfect " he held Shouto's face in his hand. "Anywhere and anything with you is perfect already. Hell, if you just had asked me to have soba and chatted the entire evening it would be a goddam perfect date already." He said and smooched Shouto's lips.
Shouto, thankfully, huffed a barely there laugh and looked to the side as if trying to convince himself that the date going unplanned was ok.
"Who would've have thought you were such a sap mister I cringe at romance movies" Shouto provoked then.
Katsuki couldn't help but bark a laugh before kissing Shouto again and again in front of the closed shop.
In the end, they had Ice cream in another store and watched the concert happily.
Shouto still planned their dates oddly, as if a bunch of chores united with time and place, but as time went by Katsuki eased him on that not every date needed to be eventful or remarkable to be a good date. It could be just the two of them anywhere and doing anything. Katsuki didn't mind the halfie rule of kissing him after the end of every date.
And then, they would have more outside dates now and more direct "I love you" messages. But other than that, nothing changed much.
And katsuki was the fool to think Shouto would change the way he acts in front of his friends. He was somewhat afraid that his stupidly over affectionate and touch starved boyfriend would be clingy and demonstrate a lot of pda. But no, he didn't at all. He barely touched his hands in public.
Katsuki wasn't sure if that was good or bad.
On one hand, it was fucking relieving.
He didn't know what he'd do if Shouto suddenly decided to become one of those clingy couples that sat on each other's laps during lunch break and fed each other fries like extras in a shitty teen movie. Katsuki would've died before surviving that kind of humiliation.
But on the other hand—
It was odd.
Because Shouto was affectionate. Painfully affectionate.
Just not where people could see.
Behind closed doors, the bastard was unbearable.
The moment they were alone, Shouto attached himself to Katsuki like he had been starved for physical contact his entire life. Which honestly, he probably had.
At Katsuki's dorm, Shouto would instantly gravitate toward him without even noticing. Sitting shoulder to shoulder somehow became thigh to thigh, then chest to back, then Katsuki trapped under a half-and-half weighted blanket pretending he wasn't comfortable as hell.
The fucker loved touching him.
His hands were always there. Sliding under Katsuki's shirt while they studied in his room. Resting on the back of his neck when Katsuki cooked for them late night when they couldn't sleep because of nightmares. Fingers lazily tracing circles against his palm while they watched movies.
And kissing?
Jesus fucking Christ.
Shouto kissed like he was making up for years of deprivation. Slow at first, hesitant almost, then suddenly overwhelming. Like once he started he couldn't stop himself anymore. Katsuki had lost count of how many times they'd ended up making out against kitchen counters, walls, beds, the damn washing machine once because Shouto "missed him" after training.
The idiot got especially clingy when sleepy.
Katsuki would wake up at three in the morning sweating because Shouto had practically melted over him during the night, one leg tangled between his, face buried in Katsuki's neck, warm breaths hitting his skin while mumbling incoherent things half asleep.
And the fucking worst part?
Shouto always acted like this was perfectly normal to him, something was used to.
Like grabbing Katsuki by the waist while he brushed his teeth was simply instinct. Like kissing his shoulder while passing behind him in the kitchen was something everybody did. Like burying his cold hands under Katsuki's shirt just to hear him curse was the funniest thing ever.
But then they stepped outside—
And nothing.
No hand holding. No casual touches. No leaning close.
Hell, sometimes Shouto barely even looked at him differently from how he looked at the others.
At first Katsuki thought maybe he imagined it. Then he thought maybe Shouto just wasn't comfortable with PDA. Which was fair, honestly. Katsuki himself wasn't exactly a public romance enthusiast either.
But the contradiction kept fucking with his head.
Because Shouto wasn't shy.
Shouto literally walked into Katsuki's room one time, and simply asked him to cuddle because he was upset. Yet the moment Katsuki tried to kiss his cheek goodbye in public, when no one was looking because there's no way katsuki would act like this in front of extras, Shouto tilted his head away so naturally it almost looked unconscious.
That one had pissed him off.
Not because Katsuki needed PDA or whatever romantic bullshit. But because for one stupid second, his chest tightened with something ugly.
Embarrassment maybe.
Or rejection.
And Katsuki hated feeling rejected. Especially by him.
So later that night, after practically exploding during training and scaring half the class, Katsuki finally cornered Shouto in his dorm room.
"What's your fucking problem?"
Shouto blinked from where he sat on his bed. "I have several. You'll need to specify."
Katsuki clicked his tongue. "Don't play dumb."
"I'm genuinely confused."
Of course he fucking was.
Katsuki crossed his arms tightly. "Why do you act weird when we're around people?"
Shouto frowned. "Weird how?"
"You know—" Katsuki gestured aggressively. "Like we're not dating."
The confusion on Shouto's face only deepened.
"We do act like we're dating."
"No, we fucking don't."
Shouto stared at him for a few silent seconds before realization slowly crossed his face.
"Oh."
Katsuki already felt irritation climbing his spine. Every life changing conversation with Shouto started with oh.
"You mean public displays of affection."
"Don't say it like a damn textbook."
Shouto hummed thoughtfully, completely unbothered by Katsuki's foul mood. Then he patted the spot beside him on the bed.
Katsuki rolled his eyes but sat anyway.
Immediately, immediately, Shouto leaned against him.
Fucking hypocrite.
"I don't dislike it," Shouto said quietly after a moment. "I just..."
He paused, searching for words. Katsuki waited.
"...I like you too much."
Katsuki's brain short-circuited for a second.
"What kind of shitty explanation is that?"
Shouto looked oddly frustrated now, like he couldn't properly organize what he meant.
"When we're alone, I can focus only on you," he explained slowly. "But when other people are around, I become too aware that they're seeing us."
"So?"
"So..." Shouto's ears reddened faintly. "It feels private."
Katsuki stared.
Private.
Not embarrassing. Not shameful. Not unwanted.
Private.
Like something precious.
Shouto looked down at their hands resting side by side on the mattress.
"I know couples do those things publicly," he continued, quieter now. "And I don't mind if you want to. I can try more."
Katsuki suddenly understood something then.
Shouto wasn't avoiding him.
Shouto was protecting something. Holding it close to his chest with both hands because he finally had something that belonged only to him and he didn't know how to share it with the world yet.
Idiot.
Katsuki grabbed Shouto by the chin roughly and kissed him hard enough to shut him up.
Shouto melted instantly, because of course he did. One hand coming to Katsuki's waist while the other curled in his shirt like instinct.
When they pulled apart, Katsuki pressed their foreheads together and scoffed softly.
"You really are fucking weird."
Shouto smiled a little at that. Small and fond and devastating.
"You still like me."
"Tch. Unfortunately."
And honestly?
Katsuki guessed he didn't really need everyone else to see it, and hear any of it. That's why he couldn't tell this to the girls at all.
Thinking about shouto being affectionate tho led him to remember another odd thing about his boyfriend, that he would definitely not tell the girls, was how he was during sex. Especially when there was music involved.
Generally, their sex life was like any other sexually happy couple. They fucked, they orgasmed, they tried different kinks and so on.
They were very private, just like he said, Shouto wasn't big on PDA. So fucking out of their places was a big no as well.
And it was like that until one random party in which they were dancing very dirtily, with a lot grinding and flushed bodies. The music was some very loud pop and they had a couple of drinks more they used to.
It was no secret Shouto was hot, and he was insanely hotter that night.
His button up shirt with just a few buttons actually buttoned, his sweaty hair clinging to his forehead. His cheeks flushed red from dancing and his broad hands holding Katsuki by the waist.
Katsuki couldn't contain himself that night and neither could Shouto.
So after "dancing" Katsuki was left alone for a bit with a drink in his hand.
Shouto appeared out of thin air and got super close to katsuki's face. He thought they were going to kiss, in front of everyone, but instead Shouto whispered so close to his ear that he could feel his breath hitting it.
"Come with me".
And he went of course, drink forgotten somewhere.
Shouto led him to a bedroom and locked the door. God knows what extra was the owner of that bedroom, in the heat of the moment Katsuki couldn't care less.
Shouto caught his lips and started kissing him pulling his bottom lip lightly with his teeth. Katsuki couldn't help but drag his hands everywhere, pulling a bit on his boyfriend's hair and then opening all the still buttoned buttons of that shirt.
Their hands were everywhere, and then they were finally on whoever's bed. Shouto was getting his sweet time getting Katsuki ready because he was damn thoughtful like that, and no that ain't the odd part. He was suffering tho, he just needed more.
"C'mon Shou, hurry!"
Shouto just chuckles and kissed his thigh ignoring the aching cock needing attention. But before Katsuki could complain any more Shouto thrusted all of him.
Inside the bedroom you could still hear the loud pop song that was playing downstairs, even if it was muffled a bit. A detail that Katsuki couldn't care less. He was so close, his body was hot all over and the kisses being peppered on his neck was just adding to his climax.
"Fuck yeah, Sho." He tried mid moans as an encouragement to his boyfriend keep the rhythm, he was so close.
And he was seconds to releasing until he wasn't feeling anything.
His boyfriend fucking stopped.
"What the hell?" He opened his eyes to look for his boyfriend who wasn't so close to him anymore to find him pulling his fucking cellphone.
"Hey halfie? I am seriously not into edging right now, why the Fuck did you stop? I was so fucking close" he almost snarled at his boyfriend, because seriously, he wasn't there to be blue balled by his boyfriend who was very busy using his cellphone.
And then, if it couldn't get worse, he heard a typical sentence the Bluetooth device is ready to pair.
What.
The.
Fuck.
"Are you kidding me?" He huffed and threw himself back to the bed with a sigh.
Apparently, in the room there was a Bluetooth speaker and now it was playing a pop song that Katsuki noticed wasn't playing anymore downstairs. It had changed to something more calm.
He felt the bed dip, and then he looked over to his boyfriend.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't keep with the other song". He explained, as if this was an explanation, before kissing softly Katsuki.
"Keep up???" Katsuki asked. Keep up? Why did he need to keep up with that song?
He didn't have the time to question further tho, suddenly his boyfriend was inside again just at the right rhythm, but somehow harder.
Oh.
He was fucking him accordingly to the goddam pop song.
Katsuki would have laughed but another sound came out of his mouth and took his thoughts from this odd thing about his boyfriend to the very delicious moment happening.
They talked about that later and they agreed they wouldn't mess around in parties anymore unless the bedroom they were staying had a very loud speaker just for them to enjoy their own rhythm.
That is definitely personal to tell the girls though, everything seemed to personal.
Ugh.
He was really regretting letting these noisy girls get to him, but now he had to let something out.
So he looked them in their eyes, those sparkling and gossip hungry eyes and huffed before saying the most banal thing.
"He stores mint gum in his nightstand hoping that I'll let him kiss me in the mornings".
The girls giggled and started talking to each other, that is, before turning back to him and throwing questions.
"Do you let him kiss you tho?"
"Does it mean that you usually sleeps over at his house?"
"That's not odd, is it? That's cute!"
Katsuki rolled his eyes at the last one and answered the first ones.
"Fuck no, that's disgusting. Maybe once I let him, but that was it. And cheeks, that ain't none of your business!"
That girls all laughed and told him not to be shy, as if! His ears were burning a little but that's it.
" Shouto said something odd about you too, did you know?"
"What?" He yelled turning his neck to face momo so fast he almost snapped.
Charmed as she was by his reaction, she covered her smile with her hands.
" I don't know if I can tell you." That snake!
" You have to tell me" he said through his teeth. What did Shouto say about him? He wasn't odd!
"C'mon Momo, tell him" Jirou said thankfully.
" Alright, are the ready Bakugou-san?"
" Spit it out"
She was having so much fun with it.
"He said that sometimes you bite him very hard on his neck when you finish just like a little Omega" she says letting a tiny laugh out.
Shouto told her that he was like a little Omega.
An omega?
What the actual fuck?
That maniac knew about omegaverse?
He didn't notice, but he was yelling all these questions. The girls were practically crying laughing now, Momo apologizing between giggles while Jirou looked one second away from recording him.
Katsuki grabbed his bag violently.
“I’m going to kill that half-and-half bastard
“Aww,” Ochako teased. “You're gonna kiss him first though
“DIE.”
And while leaving the room he pulled his phone from his pocket and started typing furiously.
YOU TOLD PEOPLE I BITE YOU LIKE AN OMEGA???
The typing bubble appeared immediately.
Halfie:
You do though.
Katsuki almost exploded.
