Chapter Text

“I’m so sorry for your loss” A velvet voice made you look up from the floor. You locked eyes with a pair of dark eyes, yet this man had the face of an angel and was dressed too nicely to be associated with your brother. “Jiyong was a great friend of mine” he went on to say. You knew this man was lying. No one thought of your brother that way.

You bowed your head still not saying a word. Besides this man and two other junkies, no one else had come to your brother’s pathetic funeral. Which wasn’t surprising, he was a drug addict who was drowning in debt.

“I can’t imagine how lonely your life will be now, that your brother is gone and has left you to deal with everything.” The man shook his head, for a moment you thought you could hear sarcasm, but it was gone quickly. “Well I better get going, I’ll see you around Y/N”. This made your heart stop. How did he know your name? Why did he know your name?

Sitting in the funeral hall after the mysterious man left. Something about this man felt ominous to you. You couldn’t help but feel like that was more of a threat than a friendly farewell from your brother’s “friend”.

“Will there be any more guests?” The funeral director cut your thoughts, giving a sympathetic look. Shaking your head, you stood up. After that encounter with the man, you just wanted to leave and forget you had a brother, he wasn’t worth sending off either, they could take care of everything else. Gathering up your belongings quickly, you rush out the door. It was already dark out and you couldn’t afford a taxi back home.

Putting your earbuds in, you started the long walk back to your rooftop apartment. Letting out a deep sigh. You can finally live in peace now. After running away from your brother 6 months ago. You had been living everyday in fear that he would find you and drag you back into hell. Everyday, you lived in hiding while juggling 3 part time jobs to stay afloat. Now that he passed away, you can finally heal from the abuse.

You climbed the long narrow steps to your rooftop apartment and dug around in your bag for the keys. Only to come to a dead stop at the top of the stairs. Six figures stood waiting, blocking the entrance of your door, all of them giving off a dark aura. You could not see their faces but you could tell from their shadows that they were all muscular builds.

“There you are.” A familiar voice called out from the shadows. You instantly recognized the dark eyed man from earlier, he took a step forward making you step back, “Don’t even —” Before he could finish you bolt down the steps. It was obvious that the man was a debt collector, he was most likely there to collect whatever debt your brother had left behind. You should have known better. You were foolish to think that you were finally free from his claws.

Just as you were exiting the building you slammed hard into a body as hard as rock. “Where do you think you’re running to, pretty?” His voice was deep and cold. You couldn’t hear anyone following you from behind, but you knew this strikingly handsome man was with the dark eyed man. His muscular body blocked the exit, trapping you in the hall. Just as you were ready to let out a scream, his tattooed hand locked around your neck, the grip tightening, he leaned in smirking “If you think about screaming I’ll break your neck right here.”

His grip on your neck didn’t loosen, instead it got tighter and your vision started to blur from the tears. Through your blurry vision you could see the sadistic look in his eyes. He was enjoying every moment of this. Just when you thought you would pass out from the lack of oxygen, he let go, making you slump to the floor. Only to be yanked up by your hair. You let out a whimper from the pain, as he dragged you like a ragdoll back up the steps. Throwing you down aggressively once you reached the top, right at the feet of the dark eyed man.

“I don’t know why they all run.” He chuckled, you keep your eyes down, not daring to make eye contact and staring at his dark leather shoes that glistened in the moonlight. Fighting back the tears from the pain. A pain that felt all too familiar.

“I don’t have the money.” You muttered, it was barely a whisper. “I won’t be able to pay whatever debt my brother owes. I’m sorry.” You could hear the fear in your voice and knew they could too.

“I can tell you have no money.” The man knelt down and lifted your head so he could lock eyes with you. “Your brother had nothing to pay us, no property, no valuables. He was a sad excuse of a man. The only thing he had to offer was you.” Your heart stopped, and the world began to spin. This couldn’t be happening. Just when there was a bit of light in your dark life.

“P-please, whatever he owes I promise to pay it back.” You got to your knees and bowed at his feet. Another man behind him let out a laugh at the sight of your begging.

“Namjoon, she thinks she can pay his debt off.” He laughed again, the cynical laugh sending chills down your body. “Does she think she can pay off half a million dollars?”

Your heart shattered hearing his words. The man named Namjoon stood up shaking his head. “You’re not even worth half a million dollars and I can’t trust that you’ll pay us the money. I’ve been watching you Y/N, if you’re dead you can’t pay off the debt.” His words rang in your head. How long has this man been watching you? What did he know?

“W-what do you want from me then?” You asked, but you knew the answer already, your body twitched trying to fight back the tears. This was a fate worse than death.

“I’m not too sure.” He said calmly like this was deciding what to have for dinner. “Knowing you’re a virgin, your value goes up in price. I’m sure some old lonely man would pay a lot of money to take that from you.” His words froze every muscle in your body. Of course they were going to traffic you. What else did you have to offer?

The man with the hand tattoo stepped closer towards you from behind, without thinking and using every force you had in your body you punched him in the crotch.

“Fucking bitch!” He growled, doubling over in agony. Before you could even think about running you heard a loud bang, something small grazed your ear deafening you and your eyes widened.

“The next bullet will go in your skull.” His voice was still calm, but there was a bit of annoyance. You spun around and locked eyes with him, then grabbed the gun he held by its barrel up to your forehead.

“Go ahead. Shoot. Me” You begged. The other 4 men stared at you with curiosity. They were as beautiful as Namjoon but the dark aura hovered over them and you knew they were just as dangerous.

“You’re starting to really piss me off.” The cold voice came from right next to your ear, before you could react you felt something hard strike the back of your head. The world around you began to fade as you slowly slipped into darkness.
