Chapter Text
“You want me to what?!”
It was at her 8th Gluttony Party that things really took a turn for Loona.
It had been a year or so since her first one. And honestly, it was a little crazy she had made it this far. To be frank, Loona had expected that her first would’ve been her last party, after how much of a disaster things had turned out. Shit, Loona was convinced Queen Beelzebub had banned her for life from the entire Ring of Gluttony, for brazenly mouthing off at her.
So, it was quite the surprise, when not even a month later, she got a call from Vortex, inviting her to another party. Apparently, Bee had specifically requested her presence there.
Loona was certainly confused by the sudden development, her paranoid side telling her this was all some kind of elaborate joke, but shrugged it off and accepted; if only because it would be nice to meet up with her new friends again. And sure enough there was Bee, smiling and greeting her as if nothing had happened. Telling her things were 100% cool, despite their heated last encounter. Loona was suspicious at first, but more so relieved that she didn’t have to worry about an angry Sin trying to eat her or some shit.
But not only was Beelzebub completely forgiving, but the Sin then started spending more time with Loona after that. Sure, as the host of the pirates, she primarily focused on everyone, but Loona couldn’t help but notice Bee seemed to be giving her much more attention. Whether that was by checking up on her, joining in during party games, inviting her onto the dance floor and seemingly just want to spend time with her. The first few times, Loona was convinced something was up with Beelzebub, but that feeling mellowed out after the third party, when it became evident the Sin was just being friendly.
Which was largely thanks to Vortex often accompanying Bee. Loona was still a bit salty seeing the two of them together, but as time went on Loona learned to get over it and be at peace with just being friends with the big guy. Even if they would only be friends, he was still funny, kind, patient and everything she could ask for. Not to mention the perfect one to help bring Bee down to Earth, whenever the Sin got a bit too excitable for her own good.
And so, the three of them would often hang out whenever there was a party. Loona enjoyed their company, but couldn’t deny that she sometimes felt like the third wheel of the trio, the more they hung out together. Not helped that she still had a massive crush on Tex and admittedly found Bee very attractive. It was hard not to feel a pang of jealousy, whenever she saw just how happy the pair were together, but soon came to be fine with just being a friend to the both of them.
So, it came as a massive surprise when Bee was now asking Loona out on a proper date with her and Vortex. So much so, that she spat out her drink all over Vortex’s face.
Bee couldn’t help but let out a faint snicker at her outraged response, which naturally ticked Loona off a bit. Thankfully, Vortex stepped in to mediate things, after drying his face with a nearby napkin. “Sorry, about that. We know this' all a little sudden, but Bee’s been buzzing me about this for months, so I figured we’d ask you now before the anticipation gives her a heart attack.”
Were she not in a confused mood, Loona might’ve asked if Sins could even get heart attacks. Instead, her mind was racing to figure out what the actual fuck was going on. Her instincts immediately went for the first case scenario; that it was a prank or some elaborate scheme. Something Bee picked up immediately. “And judging from the majority sour face, you don't believe us.”
“Can you fucking blame me?” Loona snapped. “It’s not exactly a question you just spring on someone like that.”
“Would you feel better, if I said we’ve been wanting to ask this since Party 4?” Bee added a bit cheekily, trying to add a bit of humour to lighten the mood.
“It’s true,” Vortex added with a light chuckle. “I had to wrangle her down and remind Bee, you probably weren't quite ready for that yet. Had a feeling you’d take it a bit rougher if we asked this too soon, so we both agreed to give you time to get to know us better and ease into this, you know?”
Upon seeing Vortex backing the Sin up, someone Loona knew wouldn’t go for a cruel prank, helped to greatly ease her suspicions and worst case scenarios, but still made her quite flabbergasted. “Holy Shit, you guys are serious,” she muttered in disbelief.
“That we are,” Vortex nodded. “No offence girl, but we figured this wouldn't be such a shock to you,” he admitted with a shrug. “I mean, we haven’t exactly made it a big secret that we’re fully open and poly.”
That part was admittedly true. Vortex mostly only slept with Bee, but working for famous Popstar Verosika Mayday, meant meeting and bedding several demons (and occasional humans) whenever he felt like it. Something he had taken up on occasion, with his girlfriend's vocal support. As for Bee…well she was Gluttony incarnate. Keeping herself contained to just one partner was never an option for her.
“We’ve been having a killer time hanging out with you Moonpie,” Bee added in, giving Loona a very sincere smile, much different form her usual smirks and friendly laughs that the hellhound was used to. “If you just wanna remain friends, we’re cool with that too, no presh. But Tex and I’ve talked it over and we’d love to have you on as our official third.”
Loona still didn’t know what to say. All her life she figured she’d never be lucky enough to get a partner, and now she was offered two on a silver platter. Nothing could’ve prepared her for that. “I’m flattered and a little surprised…but why me of all demons?” she asked self consciously.
“Awww come on, girl. I thought we talked ‘bout not being so negative towards yourself all the time. It’s not good for you,” Bee said with a disappointed pout.
“You know what I mean,” Loona rolled her eyes, as she motioned towards Bee. “I mean you’re the Queen of Gluttony; you could get a million other demons way richer and cooler than I ever could be…”
“Psst, please. We both know the rich ones are usually a bunch of pompous snobs, too busy admiring their pretty asses to care about anything else,” tsked Beelzebub completely unimpressed, Vortex nodding in agreement. On rare occasions, he would bump into some of the other royals through Bee, and outside from Asmodeus and Belphegor, rarely had it been a pleasant encounter. “As for cooler, well you can’t get much more awesome than you girl. I mean you fucking bit out a Goetia’s throat! You have any idea how fucking metal that is?”
Loona could help but blush at the last one. She had let it slip during their fifth hang out at Bee’s summer beach party, and the Sin hadn’t let her forget about it ever since.
“Point is, we like you, girl! Like a lot!” Bee proclaimed excitedly. “I mean, what’s not to love? You’re hilarious, badass, a master of the snark and hot as fuck.”
Vortex joined in too, though his words were less blunt than Bee’s. “We know you don’t always like to show it, and how it’s how hard it’s been for you to open up, even to your Dad, but we’ve seen how loving you can be. Not to mention kind, sweet and loyal to a fault. You ain't the same shy girl you were when we first met, getting to see that has been so wonderful, Loona,” he said truthfully as he gave her a warm smile, that made Loona blush. “We've had so much fun, getting to hang out with you, girl. And I hope you've had fun with us too.”
“Of course,” Loona admitted, her smile turning happier as she reflected on the memories of their times together, along side her other friends. They were recent but had meant so much to her. For the first time, she had found people she could trust as much as her team. “Shit, getting to hang out with you guys, has been some of the best times I've had in years.”
“Bee and I feel the same way, Loona. We couldn't imagine things without you in some way,” Vortex said, gently placing one of his hands on her shoulder. “And you’re also pretty hot too, but the rest is equally important for us,” he joked light heartedly, but didn’t lose any of his previous sincerity.
All of the compliments were almost enough to make Loona crumble in embarrassment, as her tail wagged behind her and her face turned so red, she might’ve been mistaken for an imp. Fuck was this what a love confession really felt like? “How do I know this isn’t just some kind of one-night stand hook up?” she hesitantly asked, airing out the one grievance plaguing her mind and keeping her back.
Bee just scoffed at the idea. “Bitch, if we wanted to fuck you, we would’ve just asked if you wanted a threeway,” she answered, like it was the most simplest answer in Hell. The sin then gently took Loona by her hand and gave it a loving squeeze. “What we want is you as our potential official third, Moonpie. You and you only. And you don't have to agree to anything yet, we know this is a big ask. If you wanna just be friends, we'd understand. If that's a bit too much for you, we understand that too. But we'd love it, if you'd give us a chance.”
Loona believed them. She didn’t know how her cynical, mistrusting mind had done it, but hearing all that and seeing their loving faces, Loona actually believed they meant it. And, to her further surprise, she actually found herself wanting this? The idea of her being in a throuple sounded so strange to her, yet after all this time she couldn’t think of anyone else she’d rather be with than Vortex or Bee.
“Okay…” She finally answered after considering the idea. A part of her was still uncertain about this, but just this once, Loona would take the jump regardless. “I mean, what the fuck do I have to lose right?”
Vortex and Bee were both delighted to hear this. Though naturally no one more so than Bee. “FUCKING YES! THE THROUPLE LIVES! AWO-AWO-AWOOOOOO!” She exclaimed as loudly as she could, soaring through the air, arms pumped and letting out a loud howl that echoed throughout the party hall. A small chorus of howls joined her.
“So I’m guessing, she’s going to be riding this high for the rest of the night huh?” Loona couldn’t help but joke at her potential new-girlfriend’s reaction. Vortex laughed in response.
“Yeah, don’t expect her to sleep for the next few days,” he chuckled as he grinned at her. “But thanks for giving us a chance. I promise, you're not gonna regret it.”
Loona smiled back as Bee finally landed. “Fuck man, that felt good to get off my chest! NOW, how do you wanna celebrate, girlfriend?” she teased, with an excited smirk to the hellhound. “The party's still young and we’ve got time before our first official date. How do you wanna end this night?”
Girlfriend huh? That was going to take some time getting used to. Took Loona a bit to even register the question, but after reflecting on it, found that she didn’t mind being called that much. She turned to her friends, eagerly awaiting to hear what she had to say. “…You know what? Right now, I'm in the mood for some dancing!”
The trio let out cheers of agreement, before they quickly made it to the dance floor, shaking their bodies and having the fucking time of their lives. By the time the party would finally come to an end, they returned home tired, their bellies filled, a little wasted but happy.
A chaotic but great day of their new lives as a throuple. Their first day of many more to come.
