Summary
Percy’s skin glows with faint bioluminescent patterns. As if responding to some… unintentional signal, a similar pattern appears on his dad.
He doesn't want to be a prince.
It’s a striking difference from being one of thousands of bastard sons. All because he accidentally ingested some bioluminescent plankton while playing with Tyson and their hippocampi friends?
Ridiculous.

Summary
“He wants to protect you from the truth.” Amphitrite says.
Percy drags his eyes away from his father; looking old and tired like he had at the height of the war. The sight disturbs and worries him.
“When you sat on his throne and persuaded him to fight with his real family on Olympus, he complained about his game room. Five hundred years to build it, yes? He was distracting you. He was protecting you from the harsh realities of war. He didn’t want you to consider the implications of what it would mean for Atlantis to be destroyed. For our people. For him, with the destruction of his throne.”

Summary
Percy studies the seating layout to determine the optimal place. Not too close; he doesn’t want too many evil assholes at his back observing him. Not too far back, he won’t be able to see the stage well enough. Close to an exit, but not obviously so-
A hand on his back startles him. It’s right over where his mortal spot used to be, and Percy has to suppress the urge to rip the arm off and follow up with a fatal stab with Riptide. Percy turns to the bastard. Slightly taller than him, fake merfolk-green skin, brown eyes, looks about fifty or so, but that’s a lie because the guy is clearly a significantly powerful god, as powerful as-
Oh. There are a handful of gods that are that powerful. Percy has met most of them, and knows enough of the rest to recognize them on sight. The scathing insult on the edge of his tongue dies, and Percy relaxes.
“Dad.”

Summary
Poseidon is running out of time.
Out of the corner of his eye, he sees something. A soul. As soon as he turns his attention towards it, it leaps away like a small penguin fleeing a leopard seal, scurrying down into a cavern. It moves quickly and fluidly like a ghost, keeping just out of sight. Poseidon hurries after it. Perhaps it can tell him where Percy is sheltering. Percy must be alive - all demigods share a connection with their godly parent. Poseidon would know if his son died. He would’ve felt it. It would’ve been unmistakable, an earthquake at sea, a hurricane on land. He would’ve felt the severing of his being from Percy’s soul. He would've.

“Percy,” his father started again. “Zeus has given you your reward. You have asked the gods for a reward, something we will do our best to honor. But,” and he continued with that look again, the one that confused Percy, “you have not yet asked me for something.”
Percy blinked. “What?”
“Will you allow your father to give you a gift?”

Or, Poseidon and Percy spend a day out together in New York City.

Summary
Amphitrite wouldn't have guessed the next 'family bonding' acitivity. Would be over a set of books. About a child they just now were founding out existing.
She is sure the fates have a reason for this. Or at least she thinks they have a reason for it.
It wasn't like they had exactly left a note explaining why they had been given a copy of the book to begin with.

Summary
Having to deal with the consequences of a goddesses actions against a child of the sea. Had been bad the first time for all of them. And Triton hadn't wished it on anyone else.
To have it happen almost a second time through one of her children. Was proving to be just as painful as the first.
Even if this time it was his half brother instead of his child.
Or
When the consequences from the Capture the Flag game are more severe because Percy does nearly die against the Ares cabin. It brings back some bad memories for his Dad's side of the family due to Annabeth's involvement. And as a result ends up gaining a very (in Percy's opinion.) overprotective immortal family in the process.
