Comment on you are the hole in my head

  1. So I maybe kind of reread this one too so I'll comment here as well -

As a trilogy, I felt this really settles well between the two other parts. It has the difficult part of their relationship, which is keeping it real, because every relationship has those. I loved that Peter acknowledges their relationship is abusive and isn't healthy - I think it's important, because at some point it seems his feelings clouds his common sense. It also clouded mine, as the reader. Yeah, people shouldn't have to put up their partners dissappearing on them with no explanation. Panic attacks - as well! Made Peter much more relatable.

I think it's the first fic I've ever read a pair with problems go to counselling. So this is really great. No "things would work out with our sparkley love", but "we'll make things work out by working on ourselves, we're pretty fucked-up". All in all, you manage to describe two people having a very believable relationship throughout a long period of time, and it's a pleasure to read.

I felt REALLY BAD though at the sexual part with Johnny? I think it's dub-con, if not a sexual assault. If Peter didn't have super-strength, he wouldn't have been able to stop him. I think you should consider tagging it maybe?

It's nice things balanced out on the "I'll save you" department - reading that Wade was holding up I kept encouraging Peter to take his booty and go SEARCH RIGHT NOW. The H/C scene with Peter being sick was very sweet, Wade not actually knowing what to do was also great.

Ending in cuddly feels - again! Thank you <3

    1. oh, i'm so pleased to hear that you think so, :) i struggled a lot with some of the things that happened in this fic, though mainly what johnny had to say to peter. i never intended for him to be the bad guy, and really, he isn't. aside from trying to get peter to cheat with him--though, really, peter hadn't seen wade in how many months? it was kind of reasonable at that point to assume that they weren't dating anymore--johnny was very honest with peter, and i think it opened peter up to realizing what was going on with his relationship with wade.

thank you so much! i strive to make everything believable, so it's a very high compliment that you think so, :)

i don't necessarily know if i'd consider it dub-con or sexual assault, though. they have this weird past where this has been a thing between them, and though peter didn't want it ultimately, i think, had he understood how unhealthy his relationship with wade was at that point, he may have let it happen. i don't know, that's just my take on it. i'm not sure johnny would have gone much farther if peter kept pushing him away, either. i do see where you're coming from, though.

thank you so much! :) i hope you enjoy the third one, if you haven't read it already!

      1. You're most welcome! I indeed enjoyed the third part, I left a comment there as well :)

Thank you for explaining the point with Johnny. In my views, no means no and shouldn't be repeated - this is why I really liked Wade asking for Peter's consent in the first part - but I understand you as well.

        1. i totally agree. no does mean no and shouldn't be repeated, absolutely, and i often worry when writing those scenes, trying to make sure that i'm not taking things too far.

i apologize for not remembering your comment! i just went back to check. this is going to sound awfully pretentious, but i get so many for the college au that i'm writing that i forget who has said what where. thank you again! :)
