I don't really see the new version as a rewrite as the ships are different but the premise is the same, but I'll leave that up to you to decide! I've been putting it off for a while because this is one of my most popular fics but continuing on like this will probably just result in the complete loss of motivation honestly. He spawns in the world, his hands woven together by a string he cannot see, and starts to walk. There's a hum of safety, laying a blanket over the field, and it feels comforting. Comforting, and temporary. He walks because he doesn't know what to do, talks with other players with a tilt of his head, and follows because there's really nothing else around him.
He is mining, mindlessly chipping away at his surroundings, watching as the rocks broke and tumbled to his feet, when he appears.
The cave is loud. It is full. Many people are around him, talking, yelling, speaking. He meets him and he stares, and then stretches out his hand.
They leave, soon after that.

Etho arrives in Double Life with a haze in his head. No matter, it's not like it'll hurt him, his thoughts wrapped up in a blanket. He's gotten used to it at this point; days spent more often than not in a misty world, waving his hand through sheets of white that only he can see. It's just simply something he lives through, something in his life. It doesn't hinder his survival instincts but only his perception; it won't do him any long-term harm.
