(I have all of book 1 and most of book 2 written due to past trauma of not finishing a fic. I'll post chapters TWICE a week, unless I get excited and decide to post everything I've written to date. It's mainly Aang and Zuko's POV, but there's a few Katara chapters, one Sokka and one Toph written so far.)
Aang is trying to save the world. Zuko is trying to earn his place in it.
Neither of them realize they are destroying themselves in the process.
Avatar: The Last Airbender where Zuko joins the Gaang much earlier, their lives becoming increasingly entangled long before destiny intended. As the war deepens and old certainties begin to crack, both boys are forced to confront the expectations that have defined them, the grief they refuse to face, and the possibility that becoming who the world needs might mean losing themselves entirely. They are two sides of the same coin.
(Lots of angry and sad muffins, but they are angry and sad together so its okay.)

Wind blew past him as he fell. It caressed his purple locks in the only violent nature he knew he'd endure again and again willingly. Wemmbu gazed at the skies painted in orange
(flaming)hues, for an entire second forgetting that he was pushed off...By the person he thought he could trust and turn his back to. Suddenly everything felt...
So far away.
It matters not. Not anymore even if it's a betrayal Wemmbu experiences yet another time. He felt tired. Bone deep exhausted. Perhaps that was the reason for Flame's next blows to be not as strong as usual.
In the end it doesn't really change anything. Wemmbu still feels that hollow exhaustion by the time he admits defeat, by the time he gives up his title of 'the strongest' and Lettuce comes to collect him. For some reason the idea of execution doesn't sound as bad as it did before.
Maybe he could even rest a bit. Or see Rejoice.
Or: Wemmbu is tired. Flame... for some godforsaken reason... Cannot just not care.
Set after/during his Prison arc and some crumbs of the invis arc.

Chapter 5 of Deltarune is largely believed to be the weakest chapter of the game thus far, but even people critical of it are rather balanced in their opinions and still assume it to be at least decent enough from the writing’s standpoint. However, not only I believe Chapter 5 to suffer from irreconcilable issues and blatant contradictions, I would argue that this chapter serves as a natural conclusion to the writing problem of Deltarune prominent yet clandestine since Chapter 2. Thus, Chapter 5 presents us with the perfect opportunity to look closer at the issues that were more obscure in previous chapters and would certainly continue to undermine the story going forward.
