Off world societies always have unusual customs, and this particular one leads to John and Meredith 'getting married', but while Meredith is already in love with John, John is in love with Teyla (honestly I never really agreed with this, they were so mismatched, but I do believe he idealised her a little too much), so Meredith has to make sure he never finds out what happened, because she knows it would lead to him having a breakdown ... or will it? And what will she do when hiding what happened isn't really an option anymore ..?
This story will have three parts, the beginning, then two alternate endings. The two endings are very different, and I couldn't decide which I preferred when I wrote them, so I'm going to post them as separate chapters to the story.
This is a McKay being female because of the ancient device story, I have turned all of those into a Series now to keep them all together. I was going to post this in the Meredith Chronicles chapters, but I don't think it really fit in there, it's too long and more its own story. When I wrote it, I originally went with the first ending as the only ending, but another came to me a few days later, so I wrote it as well. I'd love to know which you prefer.
