Having just transferred to his new high school, Gug thought that it would be as unmemorable and demoralizing as his last. Demoralizing? Maybe. Unmemorable? Absolutely not.
He meets someone who turns his entire world upside-down, and neither of them know if it's for the worse. Weeb, his new classmate and dodgeball teammate, shakes up Gug's normal routine. He is everything that Gug isn't, and Gug isn't sure whether he likes or hates him for it. Weeb's joyful and cheerful demeanor contrasts Gug's usual doom and gloom, Weeb's extroverted and outgoing nature completely outshines Gug's introverted and standoffish behaviour. In short, Gug hated the guy, and the feeling was mutual, although Weeb preferred to provoke a reaction out of Gug as he finds it funny, as compared to Gug's desire to have nothing to do with Weeb at all.
However, when their paths inevitably take a turn for the worse, they are forced to work together and find common ground to stand on. It takes a long time to find it.

He opened his mouth to speak, but then paused. A name… He knew what a name entailed, a way to address someone, but he couldn't grasp what it was for himself. It made him frown.
"I don't know… what that would be."
"I see. Perhaps you will find your name as you are here on earth." The fur on its face tilted further up and it showed teeth. "My own name is Gerald Robotnik. But I usually go by my academic title, Professor."

(Peter loses his powers and, having stretched the limits of his body for years as Spiderman, ends up trapped in a cycle of dying and being brought back to life by the dregs of his healing factor.
