Summary
The story follows Paul Talbot, an anthropology postgraduate from UCL turned MI5 analyst, whose life becomes entangled with Lara Croft's across the events of the Survivor Trilogy. What begins as an academic friendship built on cross-disciplinary research into the Sun Queen Himiko evolves into a friendship tested by secrecy, trauma, obsession and the growing shadow of Trinity, a millenia-old organization that no intelligence service knows its extension, until Paul begins pulling at threads his training was never designed to find.
The story is told primarily from Paul's perspective, with some key scenes from Lara's point of view. Crown and Cross is meant to be a fan-made companion narrative to the Survivor timeline games, comics and books, not a retelling. -
