Summary
In order to claim his birthright, a lord-prince of Zhentil Keep— son and heir of a seated Council Lord— must first prove his worth. Manshoon of Zhentil Keep, elder son of First Lord Harlshoon, is bound and determined to claim his father's throne, no matter the cost. When his quest goes catastrophically awry, circumstances force him to chart a new course: the Art of magic, which his father forbade him learn, and a self-driven quest that leads still further from home. But his mother's legacy is no safer to claim, and in pursuit of this power he faces greater danger than he could ever have dreamed.
In Zhentil Keep, tension rises in the Dark Shrine of Bane; Mulmaster, seat of the faith, grows impatient with the heresy that has been allowed to bloom within the church— and that impatience could prove deadly. Meanwhile a political storm brews in the Council of Lords, one whose rumblings threaten to shake Zhentil Keep's nobility to their foundations. Caught between hostile factions both religious and secular, Fzoul Chembryl, an underpriest of the Black Lord, must make a decision: submit to the mortal heads of his faith, or plumb its past to seek a future free of Mulmaster's grasp.

Summary
Nominally this is a novelization of Tyranny of Dragons plus a few other Adventurers' League modules, using the Forgotten Realms Official Play Gauntlet rules. Myrin, a slutty opinionated diviner, leaves his beloved hometown of Baldur's Gate (murder capital of the Sword Coast!) to seek his fortune as an adventurer. Next thing he knows, he's level 20 and up against a cult summoning the dragon queen, the fate of Faerûn hanging in the balance!
But it's not really about that. It's about freeing an ancient enchanted prince from a curse and catching feelings, only to discover he's racist. It's about getting stuck in a time loop in a halfling village with your hookup, or barging in on your party members bumping uglies because you needed a spell in the middle of the night. It's about the journey through the Forgotten Realms with all the kinky wizard sex you can have along the way, just as Ed Greenwood intended.
This is a long story, you can try chapter 18 as a standalone taster of what I'm going for.
