Stephanie’s legs trembled. Her heart was a trapped bird in her throat, as she whispered out a desperate, “please, just eat me.”
Then, as if registering what she just said she let out an even more desperate scream,
“Please don’t eat me!”
Batman sighed. He actually sighed, and somehow that was so much worse. Like he’d resigned himself to the fact that, yes, she didn’t have a lot of meat on her, but he would have to suck it up because she was what the universe had served up for dinner tonight.
He reached out a gloved hand towards her. It was just one limb. Steady and gentle, like the way you might approach a growling, wounded puppy.
She wondered if Batman ate puppies too.
(Or, A chaotic SI in the DC world with faulty knowledge of canon does her best to make Bruce's life difficult for my sick pleasure! :D )

Why? Fucking why? I never asked for any of this... okay, maybe once or twice as a child, but come on! Who seriously never wished they could be superheroes? Thanks to someone (I'm looking at You, the Presence), and knowing no way back home, I'm stuck in the world of DC Comics. Sure, I know DC Comics like the back of my hand, but still, so rude!
