Summary
Apo wasn't expecting much when they pushed her into the arena for the first time. She had come to not expect a lot from the training facilities. From harsh training regimes to strict rules to the teachers breathing down her neck, she had been whittled down and molded into someone who didn't expect a lot. So that's why she didn't think to go easy on the girl on the opposite side of the arena. That was the way the arena worked, after all. You couldn't leave until you fought each other, training for the moment they would inevitably have to battle to the death in an amphitheatre for their patron god's honor. She wasn't expecting an easy fight.
That's why she was surprised when it was.
