Eddie tilts his head. “Buck? Do you need to sit down?”
Or, Eddie Diaz is not a romantic, not into men, and, most importantly, not into Buck. Which means that he isn't calling Buck encanto... right?

Summary
“Eddie, I’m in love with you,” he says, heart thrumming in his chest, in his throat, in his mouth. He feels hot and cold and dizzy by turns.
“What?” asks Eddie faintly, barely even a question.
“I’m in love with you,” Buck says again. “I didn’t know, I didn’t mean to, but I am. I am.”
“You– Right, okay,” says Eddie, so visibly buffering that it makes Buck’s heart clench a little in his chest. Of course he’s in love with Eddie. How could he possibly have let himself pretend otherwise. “Wasn’t expecting this, bud,” says Eddie, and he sounds so shocked that Buck can’t help a wry smile. Of course Eddie’s surprised. They must be the only two people in existence who didn’t already know. “I– Buck, man, you know that I care about you, but…”
“I know,” he says gently to Eddie, because he did know, but that doesn't make this moment hurt any less.

Post season 8, Buck confesses his feelings, Eddie lets him down as gently as he can, and they both try to figure out how to be just friends.

When Eddie returns from Texas with his son and a few realizations about himself, he thinks the hard part is going to be living with Buck while he figures out what to do with his epiphanies. The actual hard part is getting Buck to explain why—or even admit—he’s avoiding Eddie like the plague, until a compromising situation presents an opportunity for Eddie to get answers.

The first time it happens, Eddie doesn’t know what comes over him. It’s like he’s possessed.
His phone rings while he’s folding laundry, pairing together two of Buck’s dog-themed socks when he answers and hears, “Hi, is this Eddie Diaz?”
“Yes,” he responds.
“Hi, this is Claire Thornton with Thornton & Duncan Realty, I’m calling for a reference for Mr. Evan Buckley? He’s applied to one of our properties recently, so we’re reaching out before approval,” the woman on the other end of the line says.
Eddie’s stomach drops. Then the possession happens. “Oh, uh. Evan Buckley. Right.”
Claire chuckles. “That doesn’t sound like a great start.”
“I- listen. He’s a good guy, but an awful tenant,” Eddie feels like he’s watching himself from outside his body as the words leave his mouth. What is he doing?

The smile slips off Eddie’s face. His fingers fall out of Buck’s hair, move to his shoulder blade. “Yeah?” he asks, his tone noncommittal.
“Too good to be true,” Buck says, more honest than he thinks he’s going to be.
Eddie blinks again, nods. “Nothing scarier than a miracle,” he agrees.
