“Oh sweet are those apples?!” Phoenix digs his hand into the arrangement, pulling out a crisp red apple. He takes a huge bite out of it, licking his soft lips afterward. “Ugh I just love apples! They’re literally so good, they have to be one of my favorite fruits.”
Something inside of Miles clicks. A loose gear finally being put back in place. Apples. Apples are Phoenix’s favorite…and you can make a lot of stuff with apples…

Klavier and Apollo are stunned, the latter momentarily forgetting his embarrassment. They stare-slack jawed at Miles.
"Forgive me, but know what?" Klavier asks tentatively.
Miles sighs, exasperated, his reserves of patience dwindling fast, "when the time is right, two people will simply know they are in a relationship, naturally."
Miles worries he and Phoenix may not be on the same page about their relationship.

"Wright." Edgeworth says, his tone as level as ever; but Phoenix has a passing thought that there might be a tinge of concern to his voice. Only then does he realize that he must've been blankly staring at a wall for a couple of minutes. "Are you okay?"
Phoenix just tries to smile again. It's what he does best.
"Of course I am-! Just... deep in thought. Why are you asking?"
And yet, Edgeworth's eyebrows furrow.
"You're shivering." Okay, Phoenix is either going crazy, or Edgeworth's tone actually sounds soft. "Isn't your medicine be wearing off by now?"

Or: Phoenix might have insane luck, but it doesn't change the fact he's sick. Once Iris is declared innocent, he doesn't have to push through the pain anymore. It turns out more difficult for him than expected.
