He naturally comes to the conclusion that Aro brainwashed King Carlisle into marriage and ate his very dead mother.
Obviously, the only thing Edward, tragic hero, can do now is enlist the help of Eleazar and stage a play to rescue his family by defeating Aro in a masterful game of intellect.

Breaking Dawn AU: Post Renesmee's birth, Edward's too slow with the venom syringe and Bella is sent back in time to the weirdly distant past. Thankfully she's great with the locals, especially the handsome and infuriating blond king, but that's not all that helpful in getting her back to her husband and daughter. No matter; all she's got to do is find some vampires, get turned, and wait.
Except that king bears a striking resemblance to Caius Volturi and Bella might find it hard to just sit around waiting for the future.

In the other, the gods don't have such a blessing. Instead, having been cursed by Kronos for all their children to die before they can get to know them, before they can breathe- only a few surviving long enough to ascend to godhood. These Gods don't take their few surviving children for granted or send them on dangerous, life threatening quests. Surely they won't mind a few more?
