He falls to the ground and screams of agony. Of eons of pain and suffering built up. He screams until his throat goes raw and he lies on his back, full body in contact with the karma that yearns to dissolve him, the full moon right above his head hurting his eyes. He doesn't have much left, all that's remaining is a final sacrifice. He reaches one hand to the moon as his other slowly lets go of the spear that has been accompanying him almost as long as his karmic debt, the head of it shining like a halo. His outstretched hand wilts with the wind.
With wind, comes a melody from the distant lands. It soothes over him, carefully seals the wounds in his soul and curls around his form like a blanket, like an embrace, like a backrest. He loses himself to the melody, letting the wind do its magic. He weeps soundlessly on the bloodstained field, but this time its not all because of pain.
It's because for the first time in seventeen hundred years, the burden of his karmic debt has lessened.
