Summary
William Wellington newly retired from the New York Police Department as returned to London after almost 30 years after saying goodbye to his love, Eliza Scarlet. He is standing at the grave of his long dead mentor and Eliza's father Henry Scarlet on the anniversary of his death for reasons he cannot fathom. After a while standing there thinking that Henry's ghost has come, he sees Eliza coming to Henry's grave as well. Is this spark still there or has too much time and too much life dulled it? Will there be another chance for them to at least the spend the latter part of their life together? Or is it too late to recapture what once was fiery and passionate?

Christine left her Angel of Music behind and escaped the Opera Populaire with Raoul, and a few days later, a disfigured body was discovered in the home of the Opera Ghost.
A grieving Christine arrives at the Chateau de Chagny, and after a series of unfortunate events, she finds that she cannot trust a single person in her life, not even Raoul. She decides to break off her engagement to live a life full of music in honor of her fallen Angel.
Though, Erik had escaped that night, intent on ending his existence. After a turn of events, he becomes determined to take back what was rightfully his, so he sets out to reunite with Christine at her engagement party.

“You’ve no idea how you bewitch me, do you?” neither of them processed the staggering honesty of what he’d just said, the implications of it. They were one being, blurred at the edges and blissfully numb to the world. Christine turned to her left, reaching a hand over the side of the boat and through the mist, dipping the tips of her slender fingers into the frigid waters below.
“I don’t,” she said simply, slowly retreating from the water and looking back up to Erik, who seemed impossibly tall at the angle from which she sat. “In fairness, I hardly think you realize how spellbound I am by you.” He offered her the ghost of a smile at that, turning from her to gauge where on the lake they were in relation to his home.
“I don’t,” his eyes were on her again and she gladly sank into them, held whole by their all-encompassing warmth and depth. She pulled his tailcoat tighter around herself, as though it would further envelope her in that heady sense of him.
(First few chapters are under some relatively heavy re-writing as of now)

You will never hear those sounds. One as precious as yourself will…will never be alone." At that, Erik brought his other hand up to her face, the backs of his knuckles leaving a cold caress against her cheek. Christine came alive at his touch, helpless to deny the desire he brought forth within her."

Just a silly little meet-cute. To begin. Started as a one-shot, but the wheels keep turning.
Mid-late 1870s. After the commune, but before Leroux things happen, and taking lots of liberty with those Leroux things. And with the geography of Paris. Erik is living underground, but he hasn't become completely unhinged. Christine and her Dad have just arrived in France. I sent them to Paris instead of the coast. (Sorry, imaginary baby Raoul!) But, there are scarves a-plenty!
