The surging tide of Obi-Wan softened around him, until it felt like sweet gentle rain. The shock pulled a sob from Anakin’s lips, and hot tears sprang to the corners of his eyes. Every time he saw it, felt it, tasted Obi-Wan’s tender love it seemed too good to be true.
“Oh, Anakin,” Obi-Wan murmured, kissing his lips. “I’ll keep saying it until you believe me, dear heart. I love you, I do.”

Summary
“Jus’ like a sun,” Anakin murmurs, and Obi-Wan has to strain to hear it, almost misses it. He stills. “Beautiful shining sun,” Anakin continues, and presses his face further into the pool of robes. His voice is slow and sleepy, and Obi-Wan realizes he can tell Anakin is about to drop off into sleep. He blinks, lifting his head to stare down at him in something between awe and shock. That seems to be the standard operating procedure when it comes to Anakin, he thinks, a little wry, a little wondrous.
“‘ll marry you, someday, shining sun,” Anakin mumbles, his signature flaring brighter than it’s ever been for just a single, blinding moment before it fades when he falls asleep, leaving Obi-Wan feeling—feeling like that ocean has rushed back over him without notice, a gentle stream suddenly swept up into a raging river, only to just a quickly recede back out into a deceptive stillness.

“You don’t need to explain yourself to me, Anakin,” And Obi-Wan doesn’t even sound angry, because of course he doesn’t, why admit you have emotions when you can repress the kriff out of them instead. “Your relationship with Padme is none of my business.”
Anakin has no hope of stopping himself from snapping, “That’s a pile of steaming bantha shit and you know it.” He tries not to let Obi-Wan provoke him, he does, he knows challenging him on his avoidance never does either of them any good, but Force, he’s just so frustrating. “I’m involved with both of you. Of course it’s your damn business. We should have told you, and you’re right to be angry.”

Summary
It’s rather jarring to wake in the Halls of Healing when one does not remember how they came to be there. It’s even more jarring to wake in the Halls of Healing to learn that you have been asleep there for four years, and that during that time, your padawan has left the Order, the galaxy has broken out into war, the Jedi have become war heroes, your padawan has left you, the Sith have returned, the Republic is under attack, and Anakin Skywalker will not return your comm calls.
After Obi-Wan Kenobi wakes, he has little choice but to move on. There is a war to be fought. There are battles to be won. There is a new Sith lord named Vader who has taken an inexplicable but undeniable interest in him. Untangling the hurt and anger he feels at Anakin’s absence from his life will simply have to wait.
