The first tear, when it comes, is almost nothing. A faint glimmer at the edge of Okumura’s eye, catching the light for a fraction of a second before disappearing, so subtle it could be dismissed as irritation, as wind, as anything but what it actually is. Anyone else would have missed it. Anyone else does miss it. But Miyuki doesn’t look away. Welcome fans of And Then There Was Us and all new readers. This is an AU of my original story that follows her choosing baseball from the start. Some overlap.
Chise Muto, a girl often referred to as a prodigy in baseball, wants nothing more than to follow in her late father’s footsteps and become an ace pitcher for the Giants and create their first ever female team. Upon hearing that Kazuya Miyuki will be going to Seido, the same school her batterymate of two years now attends, she decides to follow them there. After all, a great pitcher needs excellent catchers.
But when Chise starts to fall for one while rekindling past feelings for the other, she finds herself in a predicament:
